A wonderful couple of days away in a beautiful part of the country. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing half term mini break, we especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with a fantastic view of Robin Hood’s Bay. Steve was a great host and supplied us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from local recommendations to fire logs. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, thank you Steve!

I had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage! The setting was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The highlight was definitely the hot tub—soaking under the stars was an unforgettable experience. The cottage itself was cozy, well-equipped, and spotless. The horses and chickens added to the feeling of a countryside retreat. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway!

I booked this for my wife's 40th. the host was outstanding with there responses and efforts to make my wife's birthday special. they organised balloons/banners and flowers for when we arrived, and seafood from the local fishmonger for our evening meal. The cottage was extremely well equipped, the best I have seen yet and the cleanliness was to a very high slandered. I would highly recommend and look forward to coming back in the future.

If your like me, getting away to the countryside is bliss. This property was amazing. It was quiet, with a quirk of trains passing. It was amazing!!! I booked for a minimoon last minute and Jenny was so accomodating to this. We were over the moon. The hot tub was a bonus and didnt matter what time of day, it made everything so much more relaxing. We went out under the stars and due to no light polution, we were able to see all kinds in the sky. Just pure natural beauty. We have already recommended to friends and family and will defo be returning. Thank you Jenny x

We had a lovely 3 day stay at the lampost, we was greeted at the door with a warm and welcome host, that had set up a welcome basket with goodies and some special birthday gifts as a lovely touch. There was everything you could think or ask for whilst we was there, local shops, bars and restaurants with a short drive or bus journey away. The lampost was beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place that we would highly recommend! ***** 5 star Luxury

A completely exceptional stay, from start to finish! Communication from Gemma was swift, friendly and proactive. The cottage itself was nothing short of perfection; from the comfiest bed I’ve even slept in on a holiday, to the high end luxury finish of the kitchen and bathroom, to the added extra of a spotless hot tub. Everything one could possibly need for a lovely stay was thought of, as well as a very kind welcome champers! Thank you for such a special stay. I can’t recommend you highly enough!

I have just spent a long weekend here with friends. The cottage is just perfect for a couple or a small family with everything you need. Very clean and spacious. There was a nice little welcome hamper which was greatly appreciated, thank you Henry and Jane. Absolutely beautiful surroundings with many places to walk. Stunning views. There are also a few friendly local pubs but we didnt eat out so can't review those. The hot tub was very welcoming and used every evening. The only feedback I would give is to maybe add some lighting over the hot tub area for when it gets dusk. As you're in the countryside, there isn't any street lamps so it gets very dark at dusk. It only needs ambient lighting. That aside, absolutely no complaints at all from us. We love the relaxation as thats what we needed. I would highly recommend staying at Orchard Cottage. We hope to be returning one day.

We had a lovely time at L’aal Cottage. Great use of the space, everything of high standard and fully equipped for an enjoyable stay. Jan was friendly and made us very welcome. Great spot for exploring the Yorkshire coast and a great walk along the beach to Filey.

Tim was really friendly and helpful. Fab location. Exactly as described. Clever use of space. Good facilities. We may well be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Annette’s cottage. It was perfect for what we wanted. We explored Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes, Whitby and Sandsend. We parked and Sandsend on one of the free spaces and walked to Whitby (7mile round trip with a little walk in the town too) One day we got the train from the village to Whitby and back. Requires planning as limited but was fun on the train! We also did a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We had a lemon bun from Bothams and while there bought a Brack cake we then got some beer from the Whitby Brewery! We had a drink in the pub opposite and another evening we ate at The Eskdale - stunning food definitely recommend the food and restaurant was brilliant. Last night we walked down for a drink at Eskdale too. It was handy having a little coop. The bed was super comfy. We didn’t use the TV but was there if needed! Kitchen was ideal. We would love to stay again. Annette was a wonderful host too, very attentive and efficient.

Marvick Cottage was a peaceful, relaxing and perfect place to stay. We love Staithes and visit whenever we can, and this cottage matched our needs. While it was small, it had everything we needed, was warm, comfortable, and relaxing. The double bed was the comfiest mattress we have ever slept on. Highly recommended all round. Thank you, Keeley

Arrived following Zoe’s instructions. The home was cosy and like home from home. The welcome pack was a thoughtful touch. I will definitely be returning, perfect house in the perfect location

Simply wonderful : we can not think of a single thing that was not 100%, everything exceeded our expectations. Definitely not a soulless corporate run Airbnb! The interior design was outstanding and individual without being overpowering, adding to the sense of calm that the location gives. Super clean throughout. Oh and the bedding, it was out of this world. Everything we needed was provided, the log burner a joy in the chillier evenings. Great walks and the bus stop is directly opposite (every 3 hours, check the timetable, the drivers don’t linger) into York.

We had a perfect weekend in Mark & Aaron’s place - it had everything we needed, was warm and cosy and the location in beautiful Robin Hood’s Bay is amazing.

Ideally situated. We managed to park close by no problem. Small but perfectly formed. Can't say the same about the bed - I now want a super king size bed at home! 2 min walk to cafes, pubs and shops.

Great place to stay, The dogs loved it! Host instructions very clear, didn't have to contract them for anything. Shame you have to drive everywhere to take your dogs out, not many foot paths near by.

A beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. The cottage was fantastic, very comfy, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. This location would be perfect for families with small children (or large, or none!). We have a 5 year old and this location was perfect for him, both from a safety and convenience point of view. I wish we had only known about this a few years ago, as it would have been ideal to take a toddler to and would have taken a lot of the stress out of travelling with a young child. The area around the cottage was lovely, we enjoyed walking along the stream at the bottom of the garden. The local town was also great and very conveniently located to the property. Emma the host was excellent, she was really proactive and provided us with a wealth of information on the local area and slightly further afield. We loved our stay and will definitely be looking to visit again in the future! Thank you.

beautiful place, lovely host, we was welcome with little box of snacks for us, and doggie blankets and treats for the muttleys such a nice little touch. we had everything we needed for cooking big meals, we enjoyed the space inside aswell as outside, with a little shut off space for the dogs to be free very accommodating for all of us 😀

This was our 2nd stay at Autumn Cottage and it was as good as we remembered. A great space for 2 people. The village pub is a couple of doors along the road and the owners and other customers are very friendly and were more than willing to offer recommendations of places to visit in the area. If we come back to this part of Yorkshire we would definitely stay here again

Had a great stay, always a pleasure to stay in one of Judith’s cosy and homely cottages when I’m in Scarborough!

We had a lovely few days here. The cottage was more spacious than it looks in the listing and had everything we needed for a few days. The cottage is on a busy road but parking wasn't an issue and we didn't find road noise a problem but if you have a dog that reacts to passing people/traffic it probably isnt the place for you. the garden is enclosed and nicely laid out. Aurora was a helpful and responsive host. There are good dog friendly options for eating out in walking distance. Great Ayton is a great base for exploring the local area there are lots of options for walking nearby as well as not being far from the coast.

We stayed at Fairfax Cottage for Christmas and it was just perfect. We had a lovely time and enjoyed good walks. A great location for meeting up with friends and family in North Yorks.
