had a beautiful weekend at this private cottage! could really see the thought that went into this listing- the hot tub being heated ready, robes being available for guests after the hottub, dog treats/bowls being left. The cottage was decorated lovely, the photos don't do this place justice. Tom was very responsive the whole time and was very accommodating allowing us to check out slightly later due to us getting picked up at 12 and the cottage not being booked that evening. will definitely stay again, hopefully in the summer when we can make better use of the beautifully finished outdoor area.

Really lovely stay with my friend and my dogs. The cottage was so clean and had everything you could need and some. There was a lovely welcome tray, fresh eggs and some milk. Great location and beautiful surroundings.

Everything about this venue is lovely. Dog friendly, nice decor inside. 200m walk to a local pub which served great food. The WiFi struggled at times but only a minor issue as there was absolutely no signal on my phone. The only downside to the whole stay is that I was charged £50 to use the hot tub for two nights and I had to heat it myself as it was a natural one. If I was using their electric then fair enough but using extra wood (that I brought just in case) to do it myself, the price felt excessive. Also having spoken to family about some of the places they had stayed the cleaning fee of £50 felt a touch high compared to other properties of similar size. A few minor issues but overall a superb location and would recommend to others.

Ivy Cottage is a gem 💎. Jane is a great host, great communication and flexibility. The cottage is spacious with a homely feel. We loved all the fairy lights outside, it looked very magical. Great place to have a family get together. The hot tub and games room are fantastic. We loved the small touches around the house, including the towels, bathrobes and crocs for the hot tub. The welcome package also a lovely touch, included eggs from Jane's hens, which made tasty scrambled eggs. The location is a great base and lots of places nearby. The cottage is also great if you just want to stay put and chill, you have everything you need.

We had such a lovely stay at The Nest - the place is super cosy and perfect for a relaxing get away. Everything was super easy, from communication to check in/out and finding the place. Great location and beautiful setting. Hot tub was fab! We had dinner at The Wellington Heifer one night which is a 10 minute walk away and would recommend.

Incredible place in beautiful settings. Beware of house envy when visiting as it will blow you away! The only minor minor flaws is that the only bathroom is accessed through the master bedroom as it is an en suite. Photos don't do this place justice it's fantastic!

Great stay with partner and dog . Enclosed area, breakfast included and good place for walking the Cleveland way. Debbie was very attentive.

My husband & I spent a few days at Wren's Nest along with our dog. We were very appreciative of the the welcome basket on arrival for us and our dog! My husband was also delighted to see that the hosts had put up a Happy Birthday banner and also left a beautiful sweet treat for us each to celebrate his birthday, this was above and beyond but a lovely kind gesture. The property itself was lovely and comfortable, the quality of fixtures and fittings were of high standard and made the property feel lovely & cosy. The patio area at the back of property was lovely first thing with the sun beaming down and in an evening it was lovely to light the log burner. Wren's Nest is in an excellent location for local shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk takes you to a woodland area where we walked out dog. We visited Whitby, Saltburn and Goathland ( TVs Heartbeat territory) all within a short drive from property.

An absolute gem of a find, this cottage overlooking the beck and the beautiful harbour! The cottage is lovely and comfortable, great history to this 17th century fisherman's cottage. As always, Staithes is stunning. Jackie has been incredibly responsive and helpful to any questions we had. Highly recommend Jackie's cottage. We certainly will be back!

We had a wonderful few days at The Nest. The cottage is just beautiful, super comfortable, cosy and perfectly situated for exploring North Yorkshire. Castleton is a lovely, friendly village and we were made very welcome. Thank you for having us Annette, we loved our stay x

had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Lynne and Steve are amazing hosts and respond very quickly to messages. we had a slight issue with the heating and I messaged and within 5 minutes Steve was knocking on th3 door to help us. would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

A fantastic couple of days! A lovely cottage and a stone throw from everything we wanted to see!

We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. The area is beautiful. We took 2 dogs and had an amazing time walking the old railway walk, which Jess kindly recommended to us and gave directions for. Please be mindful that if you're taking your dog, they need to be on a lead pretty much everywhere in this area as there are loose sheep everywhere.

A great find. It was really helpful to have the option of traveling by train from Darlington to Castleton Moor, and the journey along the Esk valley by train was very picturesque. We loved the open fire and cosy sitting room. We did a pretty 6 mile circular walk to Commondale and back. We brought food with us, but if did it again would probably just buy on arrival from the coop nearby and eat at the local pubs. It was great to have a weekend away where there was no need to use a car. Helen was a lovely host.

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

We have enjoyed a lovely relaxing winter break in a well equipped and atmospheric fisherman's cottage. Very quiet location only a few minutes walk from the sea and the heart of the village, where an choice of restaurants are situated.

Absolutely amazing cottage! Lovely location, out of the way and peaceful but within a 15min drive to Thirsk so close to amenities. The place had everything we needed for a nice weekend away.

Grabbed at the minute for a band playing a gig at the Whitby Goth Festival. Relatively cheap compared to other locations on this weekend. Had everything we needed for a couple of days. Only gripe we had was the lack of a mirror over the sink which meant shaving without causing a mess was difficult which should be easy to sort as there is space :D Shower was fine, but be aware of water pressure as someone running the tap will affect it significantly. It's up a steep hill though, so bare that in mind on booking!

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.

Had a lovely stay at the Hen House. John gave brilliant instructions which made finding the house mad check in extremely easy. When communicating with John his response was always quick, helpful and kind. The house was spotless and cosy when we arrived in a beautiful little village with all of the amenities necessary plus more. Overall a perfect stay, thank you John!

outstanding location, super comfy, spotlessly clean accommodation and a wonderful host, it was perfect for our week long gateway in the North. The pictures don't justify the true beauty of the place. I would highly recommend Simon's place to explore the Moors and beyond.

This place is a true hidden gem. The photos don't capture how spacious it really is. The atmosphere is incredibly comfortable, warm, and welcoming. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped with everything you might need, including an abundance of plates and cutlery (not just a set of 4!). The welcome pack was an amazing touch. We will definitely be back again. Plus, the location is absolutely stunning.
