My family of seven had a great stay at Lilja's house during the National Day and summer solstice week June 16-26. Comfortable beds, attractive living area. Beautiful views of the ocean. Quiet, pretty neighborhood convenient to driving downtown and for day trips. Private yard. Everything new and clean. Friendly reception when we arrived and given a tour of the house. Good blackout shades for the midnight sun. One important note, three of the beds were advertised as "queen" but they were actually "double" for what we are used to in America. We supplemented with two foam mattresses on the floor. Also, the house is not suitable for those having trouble with stairs--my 85-year-old mother found this challenging. We enjoyed the Blue Lagoon, Perlan (The Pearl) museum, the food walking tour of Reykjavik from (Wake up Reykjavik with Thor), a Golden Circle tour that including snowmobiling on a glacier (Arctic Adventures with Palmi). We also did our own day trips in a rental van. Blue Diamond (sights around KEF airport) including views of lava cliffs, geysers, lava tunnel, and quaint fishing villages with lighthouses. Southern route included ferry ride to Westmann Islands for Volcano/Puffin tour (Eyja tours with Eddi), visit to black sand beach with amazing rock formations, and a walk behind a major waterfall. Also the west Iceland peninsula had amazing sights. I would definitely recommend this home to others. It is optimal for a couple and five single people, but doable for seven with the foam mattresses on the floor.

We loved Iceland, the Icelandic people and our host. Thorunn went the extra mile for us, allowed us early check in and even shopped for some essentials to help us go about our first day. She was communicative and very helpful. House was lovely, some great design ideas and touches and clearly a well loved family home. Would recommend to anyone who needs a home away from home in Reykavik,

Peter was super responsive, their beautiful home is located perfectly within Reykjavik, and a brisk walking distance from the incredible SkyLagoon (highly recommend). The architecture of the house plus the furniture are incredibly modern, and it's the perfect place for a family or a group of friends. Very spacious. Excited to visit Iceland again, and now I know where to stay.

This beautiful home exceeded our expectations! Halldor communicated/responded very quickly any time we had a question. The kitchen is state of the art gourmet, all furniture and beds were extremely comfortable and great quality. Very well appointed, modern home with smart features for room darkening for peaceful sleep. Grocery store and the city were convenient. Quiet, upscale neighborhood. We hope to return to Iceland and would want to stay here again. It was perfect for our family.

Thorey's home was beautiful and spacious for our group of eight. The house came with a well-equipped kitchen, large dining area for our big group, comfortable bedrooms, TV rooms and even a gym. The living room had an incredible view of the skyline and was situated in a quiet neighborhood with only a 10 minute drive to Reykjavik. Thorey was a great host who proactively provided tips for our travel days and was very responsive.

Gigja was extremely welcoming and helpful in showing us around the house and giving us local recommendations. Her house is an amazing place for kids! We had 3 kids under 5 who loved the trampoline, the 2 enclosed outdoor spaces and playhouse, and the toys and spacious interior. The place is immaculately clean and full of beautiful plants! There is a walking path that goes right by the house and runs along a stream and goes to 2 parks that we frequented. All things in Reykjavik were under 10 minutes by car. We highly recommend this house and the hosts.

Helena was warm, friendly and extremely helpful before we arrived and her house was simply wonderful. Clean, tidy, plenty of space and every bit as welcoming as Helena. The house felt really authentic and was a perfect base from which to explore this amazing country. We felt very much at home during our stay and we loved looking after Freyja (the cat). Helena left clear instructions as to how to navigate the house as well as lovely ideas for excursions. She contacted us ahead of our visit to send us information and replied to any of our queries straight away. We loved our time in Iceland and amongst all of our highlights of places we visited, returning home to Helena's house each evening was absolutely one of them. A very beautiful home and we feel lucky to have found such a gorgeous place to stay. Tim and Claire xx

10/10 recommend. Perfect trip from start to finish. Eugenia is a lovely host. Personable and kind to communicate with via the Airbnb platform. This house is simply incredible. If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate, you’ll be blown away by the nature, peace and beauty. The house is 45 mins - 1 hour from the airport and Reykjavik. It’s in the middle of the “Golden Circle” where you’ll be able to see many waterfalls, the Geyser etc. It’s a private community of secluded houses in the valley of some mountains. 4x4 recommended as it’s a dirt road for 5-10 mins from the main road. Everything works perfectly in the house. Fireplace, BBQ, well stocked kitchen, all taps had boiling hot and freezing cold water (so refreshing!). Very clean house and felt like home for the week. Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge were nice perks. You can hike the mountain behind the house and find blueberries. 100% perfect stay for a family or a group of friends. Thank you, Eugenia!

This was the best place we have ever stayed as a family. Sigurdurs place is beautiful with the most stunning view. The house is spacious and very warm and cosy. It is absolute heaven, the perfect escape to the countryside with a chance of seeing the northern lights over the lake. I would definitely recommend Sigurdur’s place to everyone. What a place! Agusta’s house is amazing, super clean, the views are incredible, easy 30-40 min walk to the centre of Reykjavik along the water or super easy bus transport network (we did not have a car on this trip)… and didn’t need one. Well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with Agusta leading up to and during our trip with some lovely recommendations. We had lots of snow during our visit over NYE and Agusta left out some snow bikes for us to use on the hill next to her home which our son loved. Such a lovely neighbourhood we would highly recommend staying here. We were a family of 7 adults and a 3 year old child. NYE from Agustas house was spectacular watching the fireworks from the hill over Reykjavik - once in a lifetime for sure. We would come back in a heartbeat.
