Río Abajo : locations de vacances

Ms. Marta is an excellent host. We (me, hubby & 2 cats), just moved here to Puerto Rico from Pennsylvania. We rented this Airbnb because we wanted to look for a place between here and San Juan. Ms. Marta found out that we were looking for a place to buy/rent in the area and offered us an extended stay to continue looking for a place. (Relieved)! The villa we rented was clean, cozy and private. The linen smelled so good. There is a washer/dryer right on the property for your use. The hospitality was amazing. You want for nothing. When we told Ms. Marta we didn't have any internet service, she immediately responded. She spoke to the owner Mr. Juan, and that same day we had internet service. (Loose cable) Chewy is the awesome grounds keeper. If anything is needed, ask him once, and it's done!! He even brought my husband and I fresh coconut water. Gigantic coconut with a hole drilled on top. Yum. Nature, horses, dogs, singing coqui's and a pool! It felt like home. A must stay!!

The sunset shack is a unique stay! The deck on top was beautiful and we loved spending time up there in the morning. The outdoor shower was also an incredible addition! Overall, the space is clean and very well designed. We stayed here for one night before taking the ferry the following morning, which was perfect. We did have a little trouble finding the property, but this was due to the Airbnb app refusing to open (reminder: take screenshots of the check in instructions!). Rachel responded right away when we called and then we were able to find it no problem. We were very thankful that Rachel was a great, responsive host!

Beautiful place to stay. Lovely back porch and amazing jungle sounds. There’s a forest pig that is absolutely hilarious and wonderful to see walking around the property! Great location and easy to get too, Cieba can have some steep roads and this was an easy to get to, not too steep location. Beautiful, safe, and a responsive host! Highly recommend!

Mark and Monica’s sugar shack was a highlight of our trip! The space was gorgeous, the view even more so. We made friends with the many coquis (they are pretty vocal at night) and even a few (large, but peaceful!) huntsmen spiders - maybe not for you if you’re afraid of them, but they didn’t bother us at all. The shower is AMAZING (snails!!!). We found it easy to feel right at home, and Mark and Monica’s offer to explore their edible landscaping and pick any ripe fruits was so kind. The location can’t be beat - like we said, beautiful views AND the ability to be in the heart of the rainforest OR the beach in 15 minutes. The fins and beach blanket and chairs were nice touches. We would love to come back soon!

Valerie's tiny houses were the perfect place to stay to continue enjoying the beauty of El Yunque after hiking in the park that day. The facilities are modern and clean, the beds comfortable, and the deck a lovely spot to enjoy the stellar views of the surrounding landscape. Their dogs Cookie and Crema constituted the best welcome committee we could have hoped for, and their cute cat appeared briefly to receive some love, too. The place was easy to navigate to with Google Maps, so it's a good place to stay if you're unfamiliar with the area. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Sitting on the porch at sunset we enjoyed the music of the frogs and other rainforest sounds. It was so peaceful! The tiny house was like a little treehouse where you could hear the river below, the moon above and the city far away. The flowers were in bloom in various trees. After a long drive, this was a lovely place to stop and enjoy our surroundings. We even enjoyed our morning walk with the dogs!

We loved our stay at Marta's. The views were amazing and the surroundings were peaceful. I wish we had more time to relax while there and I could see us going back in the future for some quiet R&R. The location was near all the local hotspots and we used it as our base for trips to Vieques & Farajado.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay at this self-sufficient tiny home in Puerto Rico! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at peace. The home itself is super cozy and well-designed, making it feel surprisingly spacious—even for us, and we’re both pretty tall! The location is absolutely breathtaking. Being surrounded by the rainforest with stunning views right from the home was an experience in itself. And at night, the sound of the Coquí frogs created the most soothing atmosphere—I think this was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway that blends comfort with nature, this is it. We truly loved our stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!
