River Dart : séjours à la ferme

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

This place was a fantastic find; it was so cosy yet spacious. It had charm and character. The kitchen had everything you needed including a good coffee machine. It was in a beautiful village with 2 pubs within walking distance - both very different but both wonderful. Good location to get out and about and discover local beaches and towns. Giles was helpful with his recommendations and his response times to my questions were very good. I would not hesitate to recommend this house and we hope to return at some point :-)

Lovely stay at the Apple Loft. Unusual property and perfect for my husband, me and the dog. Well equipped, lovely and warm. Easy check in and good advice about the local area. Not good for any visitors with mobility issues as steps etc but worked very well for us. Beautiful sheep in the field outside the Apple Loft door. Would recommend!

Just got back from Exmouth following stay in Kate's place. Really enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed. Place was warm and cosy. First time away with dog and no problems. After a a day of walking perfect to come back to. Would highly recommend and will be on our list to return to. Jane and family

The views from Cider Barn are so beautiful. We watched a barn owl hunting over the fields at dusk and dawn and the sound of a tawny owl whit wooing as I was going to sleep was magical! The living room / kitchen / dining is light and open plan and when I was there the sun was streaming in from sunrise to sunset. Loved watching the sunset with the owl hunting! Really enjoyed my stay here. It's an old barn - so the floor boards are a bit creaky but it is a special place.

We had such a lovely time staying at Sandra's! We were a couple with a 1 year old and thought the space was perfect for the three of us. We really appreciated the travel cot provided, and our daughter loved the baby swing in the garden. We couldn't get enough of the beautiful views, and the space with the fireplace was so cosy for a cold winter's stay! Sandra was a great host, very welcoming and helpful, and the recommendations for places to eat were spot on. We'd very happily come back, as it was the perfect location for visiting Exeter, Totnes, and Buckfastleigh!

This is a gem of a place - we loved it and so will you! The barn is in a beautiful spot, so relaxing and peaceful yet a great base from which to explore North Devon and Dartmoor. Loved meeting Penny and Paul and hearing about how they arrived at the now glorious Hole Farm.

A great picturesque location, overlooking the river. Perfect for walks and just a short drive to many beaches. Inside it was very clean with modern appliances and a comfy bed. The welcoming biscuits and milk were a nice touch. While Bee was very friendly and on hand, if needed for any suggestions of good local places to visit and eat. We would definitely stay again.

We had a fantastic night at the Shippon. We loved the style of the property and felt very relaxed whilst there. We got some nice food from Bens farm shop which is just 10 minutes drive away. We enjoyed a couple of nice circular walks from the village along lanes and bridleways. The plant nursery up the road is worth a visit if you enjoy gardening/plants.

An absolute oasis of peace and beauty. From the setting in the midst of wonderful countryside to the absolute top notch furnishings there isn't a better place to be for quality time away from home. There isn't anything that needs to be done to make the Old Barn any more perfect, Absolutely everything needed was there. The kitchen was well equip, the lounge space a haven to relax in accompanied by the sweeping view from the balcony. The bedroom housed the most comfortable bed I've slept in and the bathroom has an amazing shower and a huge bath you can really relax in. I can't sing the praises of the property and the wonderful hosts loud enough. Looking forward to our next stay here.

Wonderful quirky place to stay with the family, lots of outdoor activities that kept us busy, sauna was a novelty. The children loved the animals especially collected and eating freshly laid eggs. Great place for a little family adventure. Beds were comfy and it was really peaceful sitting by the fire pit toasting marshmallows in the evenings.

We and the kids loved our stay in the Long Barn. Louise was super helpful and the accommodation was perfect for our week away with the family. The girls loved saying hello to the goats in morning and exploring the farm to find the geese, sheep and chickens. Lovelly place x

We had a lovely stay- the accommodation was exactly as described, had everything we needed, was clean and cosy. Lovely and quiet in a private lane but in easy walking distance from the nearby precinct with a variety of independent shops and attractions like Babbacombe Model Village. Would stay there again.

Lovely stay in peaceful surroundings. Beautiful view from the hot tub/ garden with sheep for neighbours! Kitchen best equipped we’ve ever stayed in with free range eggs provided and well stocked essentials. Comfy bed, warm cottage and would love to stay again. Claire is very responsive and friendly. Highly recommend

Absolute incredible stay at this air bnb, amazing and very friendly host. Super easy check in and host was very helpful with local recommendations for food spots. Layout of property was immaculate with all the amenities needed and more ! Host went above and beyond as I had said it was my girlfriend’s birthday when booking and upon arrival found decorations and a cake! 🎂 absolute 10/10 for this air BnB and would 100% stay again! We really loved our stay in Otter’s Den, it was perfect for a family meet up. All of the facilities (pool, games room, park etc) were a great bonus. We also appreciated the lovely grounds (lake and woods) and meeting the animals was lovely for the kids. Otter’s Den itself is a beautiful property and we loved the big windows for sitting in the sun. It was well equipped with thoughtful touches such as kids toys, everything you need in the kitchen and various extra baby/child items available on request prior to arriving. Max and his family were also very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and love to stay again in the future!

Katie and Ruby (the family’s gorgeous 14 year old golden retriever) made us feel very welcome when we arrived and the cream tea that Katie provided was yummy. The accommodation had everything we needed and if it had been warmer we would have enjoyed sitting outside on the private patio, overlooking fields. The local area was peaceful and Tavistock was only a few minutes drive away. We had a lovely time staying here and hope that everyone else does too.

We were a group of ladies and we loved Sarah's place. The house is beautiful, very homely with everything we needed. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms, great showers, lovely and warm. Lots of little extra touches. The pool was fab and we had fun in the games room. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We know Marldon well with Family located very nearby. The property is small and compact but suited the two of us perfectly. If you were staying longer than a weekend you would probably look for some external space, but its perfectly formed and well thought out with the provision of its facilities,. The breakfast with its quality bread, butter jam and marmalade was a nice touch. Overall a pleasant, value for money, stay. Thank you Sally.

Lovely setting - views for miles and looked lovely even in the pouring rain. We wanted a peaceful couple of days to unwind and we were so comfortable we didn’t feel the need to do loads which was unusual but amazing. It had everything we needed and some things we didn’t know we needed and Morrisons at the bottom of the road was a bonus!!!

A beautiful and quaint air BnB, perfect location for exploring South Devon. The accommodation had everything we needed for two adults and a small dog. The hosts were very helpful when we had a query and were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and left.

Perfect stay in such a tranquil spot. Beautiful straw bale barn beside a babbling stream. Jam is as delicious as everyone says. Great for walkers, cyclists and those looking for a quiet retreat. Thank you for your generosity.
