we had a lovely break at the foxes den shepherds hut . The views are amazing and the area is beautiful . everything was as explained by Viki and it couldn't have ran any smoother. Our Shepherds Hut was Very Clean and beautifully decorated and the Easter Eggs were a lovely touch. We will certainly be back and would reccomend to anyone who wishes to explore the beautiful Devon countryside and Coast line.

Fantastic location & very warm & comfortable with amazing views, great little kitchen & facilities, 5* get-a-way.

Perfect location for exploring Shaldon and Teignmouth, the hut was cosy but had everything you needed, toilets and showers were seconds away and were v. clean, would say the bed was a bit hard but all in all was very happy with my stay and would recommend!

Just returned from yet another stay at The Glade, it never fails to be amazing. My son has spent his past 2 birthdays here with me and explains that it is his favourite place. We love the hammock, woods, quiet, solitude and my sons favourite thing is waking up to the birds singing. This place is truly a haven! Remember to take your binoculars as there are an abundance of birds to see. I noticed this stay that there is a nesting pair of Nuthatches nesting in the tree directly in front of the kitchen window. Spent lots of time watching those go in and out and tidy their nest. The Glade is equipped with everything you need and Juliet is on hand if you need anything else. Lovely place and I cannot say enough good things about it. We will be back again soon. Liane, Roo and Peggy-sue.

A fantastic stay, a beautiful location totally quiet from the surroundings. The actual place is perfect, the fire instantly warms the whole area and will last for hours. Everything you can need is provided ready and James and Megan reply and offer help before you can think of it! Fantastic place would love to stay again!

Lovely three nights in the hut. The campsite itself is nice and tranquil. It's perfect for the kids as there is a small farm at the bottom. Nice little setup for a short break. Toilets and bathrooms which were shared were kept clean and relatively new. Can't fault the stay. Shaldon and Teignmouth were enjoyable places to visit including taking the Ferry to Teignmouth which the kids loved. Would recommend if you stay to make sure you bring thick duvets or sleeping bags and possibly hot water bottles if the temp drops overnight. Overall a fantastic visit.

Another wonderful stay at the hut. It’s a wonderful place to recharge after a day in this gorgeous part of Devon. The kids love their ‘floor’ to themselves! Well-equipped kitchen means we could prep a meal after a long day out in the winter weather and the log burning is a lovely touch too, even though the hut is plenty warm enough if you don’t want to light it. Thanks again to Kirsty for being a great host. I’m sure we’ll be back again soon!

Lovely space and so tranquil. The Shepherds hut made a great base for exploring and also a beautiful place to return to with a takeaway in the evenings.

Beautiful location, private with views over countryside and sunsets towards Salcombe. The facilities were as expected, hot water, wood burner and small kitchen - everything we needed. We walked to Salcombe for lunch (an hour-ish to the foot ferry), borrowed the kayaks (stored close to water and very easy to use) and enjoyed the beauty and serenity of paddling up the creek to the estuary for a picnic on the beach. Weather was great so that definitely helped. Becky was very responsive and helpful. Recommended

Nestled cosily atop a hill overlooking a glorious countryside of rolling hills and deep Combes, The Meadows is an idyllic, peaceful place to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of busy life and to just ground yourself. The cabin is beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, the covered outdoor cooking area means there’s more room inside and all kitchen equipment is there for use. We made use of the bbq and the fire pit, an honesty box is available to purchase wood should you not have your own. We simply loved spending our evening outside, sat by the fire listening to the tawny owls hooting whilst gazing up at the staggering night sky, the stars were incredible! I would definitely recommend a stay in this wonderful little sanctuary and hope to visit again one day.

I had an amazing stay at Lucy and Andy’s cabin! The location was perfect—secluded enough to feel like a peaceful retreat in nature, yet still easy to access. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Lucy and Andy were fantastic hosts—friendly, responsive, and welcoming. They made sure I had everything I needed and provided great recommendations for the area. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in the woods, this is the perfect spot. I would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely lovely stay- just wished we’d booked longer. Perfect garden for the dogs. Walkable distance into Chagford, and information booklet left by host had fabulous recommendations and directions for the walk! Will be rebooking

The cabin was such a wonderful place to stay. It was in such a beautiful and peaceful location and it was amazing to go to sleep with the stars and wake up to the birdsong in the mornings. Thank you so much Keith for creating something so magical! Would definitely love to return :)

We had a beautiful stay at Mill Cross in the Jenny Wren Shepard’s hut over a long weekend. Emma and Kevin were brilliant hosts, they were so kind and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was great to chat to them and learn about what the do and who they are. Our fire was lit for us to keep the cabin cosy and the hot tub perfectly warmed for us in the evenings. A highlight for us was the abundance of wonderfully friendly animals, it made our morning to have the hens coming running up to say hi, excited greetings from their lovely dog Juno, purrs from the very friendly cat Pickles, and happy hellos from the characterful goats. Stunning location, beautifully clean with expert craftsmanship. Very eco friendly as well. Emma’s homemade bread was delicious and we will be trying the brownie recipe she shared with us. Dreamy stay, wonderful trip. We will be back. Highly recommend!

A fantastic stay! This Shepherd hut was spotless! The area is so quiet and friendly. Plenty of walks on the doorstep. The location is fantastic, especially when travelling to Dartmouth. Two pubs serving food within a few minutes walk was an added bonus. Excellent WIFI. Thanks Nina for having us.

I took my boyfriend to Fiona’s hut for his birthday to get away from the busy city & life! It was exactly that & more, the hut is so amazing, it has everything you need and the bed is so unbelievably comfortable I’ve asked for the details of the pillows!! It was the perfect getaway, the hot tub was amazing & if you turn the lights off you can enjoy the starry skies! The pony’s are super cute & friendly! Honestly it was so much more than what we were expecting. The hut is so homely and cosy! Fiona is also an amazing host, she is very responsive & friendly! We will definitely be back! Also the milk!!! The milk that is provided by Fiona is amazing!! It is super thick and creamy! Just every little detail has be thought through! Thank you so much for such an amazing weekend! X

We had an amazing stay at The Hidey-Hole and would recommend to anyone. We booked very last minute, on the day of arrival and it did not disappoint. Lovely and spacious and the driveway and open space is huge, great for our Frenchie to roam around freely and safely. If youre like me and like to be cosy and warm , I recommend you take extra logs, kindling and fire lighters for the wood burner to keep it going. Lisa supplies enough to start you off but we popped to the shop in North Tawton for extra supplies which was just a short drive away. The bed was super comfy and the fresh supplies were a welcome gift. We will be back

We had an amazing stay at Jess & Johns place. Fantastic location and extremely private. It was such a beautiful place for us to have a well needed break. We highly recommend this stay and would be more than happy to visit again.

we had a wonderful time. it truely is a magical place. my two sons loved it and Ralph (the owners dog) was a excellent tour guide, we hope to return soon.

The cowshed is so peaceful! And brilliant to sit outside with the fire pit and bathtub, especially if you are lucky enough for a starry night. Susan was lovely at check in and has thought of lots of wonderful details that made the stay extra special. We did not want to leave. Look forward to returning again soon!
