We had a fantastic stay at Eddie's. What a peaceful haven just outside of the town but with easy access to all the Keswick has to offer. We were blessed with good weather but Eddie's place really added to that. Sitting on the sunny sheltered decking area at the end of the day with a glass on wine was heaven. What a view! The accommodation itself was spotless and very well stocked. It worked very well well for the two of us. Eddie's guides the the area ( local walks, days out, maps, where to park and where to eat) were second to none and went a long way to helping us make the most of our short stay. We mostly walked into town ( 20/25 mins) but is also very easy to reach by car.

Beautiful warm clean accommodation . The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. Bathroom was large, very clean and hot water. Julie left us a wide choice of breakfast including vegan, lovely. Very private and quiet, parking. Attention to detail was great “sheep” .

Such a gorgeous little home away from home. Had everything you needed for winding down after a day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was left for the morning as well as milk and butter, which was a added bonus. Perfect distance to take a hike in the lakes or explore Lancaster. Would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area. Truly beautiful!

Truly authentic castle, large accommodation - furnishings and decor are in keeping with the castle. Gardens are beautiful. Caroline is very helpful and provided a freshly baked loaf with butter and jam, there was also fresh milk in the fridge. There are teabags and coffee - and a coffee machine, kitchen is small but has everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Perfect base for exploring area. Stayed for a couple of nights in half term with 3 children and dog. We visited Corbridge and Hexham on the way up , a day for Vindolanda , the Roman museum and from Walltown country park we did a walk up along the wall. Last day we went for another walk along wall taking in sycamore gap. Worked around the weather, couple of showers coinciding with pub lunch and museum. Great views and relaxing break. Kids loved helping feeding the animals and thank you for the fresh eggs! Cottage comfortable with games, plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs double room, room with a double and a single and another single partioned off with wooden folding door. Thanks for a lovely break.

A lovely cosy cottage for a base in the northern Lake District. Sonia was responsive from the word go, answering all my questions and made sure to check in multiple times during my month long stay. The cottage has everything you need. Kitchen has only countertop appliances but there's a double hob, air fryer, oven and microwave. The counter top oven was so efficient, better than my built in one at home for sure! Lounge is comfortable, heating keeps the place very cosy and the little woodburner is great for the colder evenings. Sonia and Lee are on hand to provide logs and there is a drinks fridge and snacks set up like a mini bar inside which is a lovely touch. A great location for exploring Caldbeck, Keswick, Penrith areas. Lovely hikes around Caldbeck and Keswick is a very scenic 30 minute drive away. There is a little community run shop 5 mins down the road in Hesket Newmarket and for the big shop Penrith is just 15 mins away. So convenient to access from the motorway.

The apartment was just what we needed. It was comfortable, clean and well appointed with a very nice welcome pack and basic supplies. And Louisa and her husband were very friendly, responsive and helpful when we needed them. Will definitely consider staying there again in the future.

We had a lovely stay here. The cottage was beautifully presented and we wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place to friends and family. We can’t wait to return. Thanks so much for a lovely stay x

Right up there with the very best places we’ve stayed in (and we’ve stayed in lots). Fantastic accommodation in beautiful surroundings with friendly, helpful and charming hosts. Lots to see and do in the area with brilliant walks in a quieter part of the Lake District. If you are looking to be in the area or just want to stay somewhere stunning then what more could you want.

Me and my partner had a great stay at Emma and George’s property. It was a perfect relaxing end to a long day on the fells. The communication and instructions where fanatic through out our stay and we hope to stay again in the future.

Amazing stay, such a lovely area and the room was very cosy and clean it couldn’t have been better. Great communication with the host Susan too, and her artwork around the property was very admirable. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to stay here

Clean, warm, comfy accommodation with a good shower and we'll equipped communal kitchen. Situated on the outskirts of Bellingham with good walks in the area and half an hour from Keilder Observatory. Good communication with hosts.

What a delightful place! Squeaky clean, very well appointed modern kitchen and bathroom, packed with everything you could need, including toiletries in the bathroom (bath and shower) - and milk, bread, orange juice, cereals, etc in the kitchen. There’s even an air fryer. AND oh joy! A small bottle of fizz, and tasty little cupcakes! Thank you Marj for a lovely, comfortable home from home - and for greeting me so warmly.

We were looking for a quiet peaceful place to explore the walking in the area. Emma's place fitted the bill perfectly being situated in a remote rural location. The Byre is well fitted out with quality finishes and small welcoming touches such as the delicious homemade cake. Emma is a great host and we will happily return to continue exploring the area.

Adam and Mary have thought of everything and we had the most incredible stay. The Spinney really is a special place and the surroundings are beautiful. Everything you want for a relaxing getaway. Communication was second to none and every little detail has been thought about. We'll definitely be rebooking.

Fantastic hosts, couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful, peaceful property. Gorgeous interior, spotlessly clean with lovely added touches like fresh eggs. A short walk to a secluded beach and a short drive to a decent pub what more could you want!

We had a truly lovely stay. The place is so cosy and homely. We were in the area for a festival but would book again for a walking holiday - such a beautiful part of the world and this accommodation is a great base for exploring the lakes. We loved having the coffee machine, the bed was comfy and we felt completely at home. The dogs were super-friendly and cute and the hosts really helpful.

stayed for 3 nights with a 11 month old. Joanna was very kind in providing a travel cot, linen and some little toys for the baby. comms were great and instructions and directions were easy to follow and helpful. beautiful place and accommodation, had everything you need. easy to find, close to the m6 exit. lovely little village with a shop and a pub. very private and you can just come and go without disturbing anyone. lots to see and do in and around the lakes and dales, lots of day trips are around 1 hour drive. thanks jo and Richard for hosting us. we would definitely go again in future.
