Great place to stay if you are visiting York or the surrounding countryside. the pub opposite is very convenient if you don’t want to cook. There is a helpful folder of local business and things to do to help you settle in. Doug and Katrina are great hosts, I can recommend staying here.

Amazing short break in the middle of the moors. The Granary was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Simon is a fab host and was very friendly. Brilliant garden for the lods to play in, peaceful surroundings and some amazing walks. We can't wait to come back

A cosy, secluded woodland setting with good walks straight from the door and the added bonus of horses stabled next door. Even without the unseasonal good weather we would have had a great break.

Absolutely amazing location and property. Check in and communication was hassle free. Made to instantly feel at home. Immaculate cleanliness and all the facilities to make our stay perfect. Unfortunately, we had to leave the property to go back to work (otherwise would have loved to stay longer). Full credit to Bev for her hospitality.

Our 2nd visit to Pauline and Graham's Airbnb so the draw to return was strong. The moment we pulled into the drive we felt at home straight away. The weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the birds whilst having a few beers. The welcome you receive is special and the accommodation is perfect with everything you need for a comfortable few days away. This 2 night break, we visited Rievaulx Abbey and Nunnington Hall both worth a look. The day we left it was interesting watching the bird man ring the various Tits. We look forward to returning again soon.

Lovely little cottage, with all the facilities one could want. Welcomed with fresh milk and nice cake. Great for our overnight stop from Scotland to Dorset. Would be ideal for anyone wishing to tour the Dales

As fabulous as expected. Ideal space for two couples, high spec accommodation with lots of room to relax . The kitchen is small if you intend to self cater but the facilities and equipment are excellent. We spent most of the time sat in the dining room watching the peacocks who wandered up to the window each day to be admired. Played tennis and walked into the nearby village along a public footpath 50 mins to a very good pub ( Dawnay Arms ) and evenings in the hot tub . Thoroughly enjoyed it, the host ( Lucy ) is onsite and is welcoming and supportive with communication without any intrusion . No hesitation recommending.

Very helpful and responsive owners Beautiful home, we were a group of 12 and there was more than enough room and no end of supplies in the property The large lounge opens to a huge table ideal for entertaining and we loved the bar area too The room had a large wood burner which we had on a lot as it is so cosy, the owners provided all the logs which was very helpful The situation if the house could not have been better for our group, such amazing scenery but you can also easily got to a selection of stores and pubs Will definitely visit again, thank you

A very enjoyable stay at this lovely barn conversion. House was spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped. Perfect location for visiting Beamish Museum which was a few minutes drive away.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage over New Year’s Eve. The wood burner made it feel very cosy, and it’s really well equipped - it has pretty much everything you might need for a few nights stay. The location is perfect for walking - we did a couple straight from the cottage, with really varied landscapes which were absolutely stunning, including rivers, big vistas and farmland, ending with an excellent pub in Gunnerside. Just a couple of things, which wouldn’t bring my review score down but worth noting - we couldn’t get the washing machine to work, which didn’t really matter to us but worth checking with Harriet if it’s an essential. Also, the hairdryer wasn’t great so worth bringing your own if your hair takes hours to dry like mine! Lastly, the sound system is pretty old and doesn’t have Bluetooth, so better bring a speaker if you like listening to music. Overall, we loved the cottage and had a fantastic stay!

We had a wonderful week at The Little Barn and Nicola was the perfect host. The barn is cosy and very comfy, spotlessly clean and finished to very high standard - it really felt like a home from home rather somewhere kitted out for a succession of guests. We had everything we needed and instantly felt relaxed in our surroundings. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper of homemade sourdough and banana cake, a pint in the fridge and some yummy local jam. Situated in a quiet little hamlet we were at total peace - no road noise, just the sound of the birds and sheep and cows! Doesn’t get any better. The Little Barn is in a perfect location for exploring all the Yorkshire has to offer (and there’s a lot!) we were able to easily explore Moors, Forest and Coast without anywhere feeling like a real slog. Nicola generously made some fab recommendations for local places to visit, explore and eat and was considerate too of what our 11-year old son might enjoy. We all loved it! 10 stars!

Beautiful accomodation in a gorgeous location. Peaceful with an glorious outlook and walks right from the front door. Respectful of our privacy. Highly recommended.

A great accommodation if you want a peaceful and secluded location with views of a beautiful landscape. The barn itself was amazing. It has all the facilities you need, it's very comefortable, spotless and the decor was gorgeous. The hosts are fantastic too. The only con is the outdoor area was not very secure for a dog. We have a medium labrador and there would be no doubt she would get through the fencing and gate.

Kerrie was always quick to respond with replies to messages. Helpful information regarding check in/checkout/very accurate directions too. . Very approachable and on hand/contactable if required. Contacted me in plenty of time re arrangements for stay. Great host. Thank you!

We stayed for two days, the place was beautiful and everything we needed. We had great weather so made the most of the garden, and everything was in a short drive away. Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway.

Such an amazing, secluded, location and a unique and quirky space. Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcoming music, all the information we needed and a few unexpected extras. The views were stunning and, even if the weather doesn't hold up, you can enjoy the vista from the sofa! We couldn't be happier with our hosts and stay and would highly recommend.

We’ve just got back from a beautiful stay at the cottage. We stayed two nights and wish we’d booked more time! We had a lovely experience start to finish, we had clear instructions of where to go and found the farm very easily. Check in was straightforward and the cottage was immaculate. The fresh eggs from the farm were a lovely touch, we had them for breakfast the following morning. Kelly kept in touch in case there was anything we needed but we had everything and more. We have a 6 month old and Kelly provided a high chair and travel cot which was great. There are some great pub/restaurants really close and we also had a day out in Corbridge which had some amazing cafes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Harriet is so welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in her stunning barns. Everything is finished to a very high spec and the spacious bedrooms and en-suites are wonderful. The farm and countryside setting is beautiful. We were sorry to leave!

We’ve just returned from a fantastic five days at Birdforth Hall. The accommodation is brilliant and very spacious even with 8 adults and 3 babies. The pool is great and the perfect temperature, and the other entertainment on offer is great. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a break away!

Our second visit to this wonderful peaceful venue. Everything was as we remembered it. Caroline is very friendly and welcoming. We will be back.

We had the most amazing time. From the moment we arrived to when we left they made us feel like part of the family. They catered for everything and there was a wonderful welcome basket on arrival. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will be back. Thank you.

What a lovely house. We were a last minute booking - and very grateful that Sarah was so responsive with messaging, and also so flexible. We arrived in the dark so struggled slightly with finding it, but had Sarah's number if we had needed it. The house is a very good size, relaxing and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable, there was lots of hot water, everything was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool table was appreciated too. It is a very short walk into Hawes and I thought it was probably better than staying in the town itself. Lots of great walks, pubs and cafes, and the Wensleydale Creamery is well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful stay at Kat’s barn - it was easy to check in, had everything we needed, the teens made great use of the pool table and extra lounge, and the surrounding village & towns were perfect for trips out & finding great places to eat! Kat & her family were incredibly welcoming & always on hand for any questions or anything we needed. We only wish we had booked a few more days!
