Great apartment with all mod cons, brilliant location and lovely facilities

My husband Laurence is from Barnsley so we're quite regular visitors to see family and he was familiar with the apartment's location as the old Barnsley Permanent Building Society - you could not be more central with a great view of the Town Hall. The building has been sensitively restored into a majestic apartment block and the flat itself is lovely: tastefully decorated, well equipped, spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed and great towels. You can tell that David has put a lot of care and attention in making a genuine home from home so its perfect if you're staying for a flying visit like we were or a longer stay. It's in staggering distance of all the bars and restaurants and we absolutely loved it! Will definitely stay again.

Handy place to stay for family reasons and close to motorway. Clean and good value, think little touch ups to the bathroom like new radiator or just one that's not rusty looking. We had issues with WiFi very hit and miss kept dropping and freezing. parking is great and considering it's a flat you can't hear any of the other residents, felt safe and secure x

Absolutely loved this Airbnb! booked it for my mum and 2 siblings from 23rd Mar 2025 for 10 days. From the moment we arrived, we could tell that the place was well-maintained and spotless, making it so comfortable to settle into. The location is perfect—so close to the shopping centers and Wakefield Kirkgate train station, making it easy to explore the area without having to travel far. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always quick to respond to any questions we had, which really made my mum's stay feel smooth and stress-free. It’s clear they care about making sure guests have a great experience. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and well-located spot with a host who goes above and beyond. I’ll definitely be staying here again!

This is my second stay here and it was just as lovely as the first. So comfortable and tidy and in a great location too. I really love this apartment and hope to come back in January for work :) Penistone is so beautiful! Thank you so much Ben it was lovely as always!

This is now the third or fourth time I have stayed here. Great large open plan space. Beautiful and quiet. Just what was needed. I would definitely use this place again if needing to stay in the area. Highly recommended

Stepan was a great host, always very helpful and communicative. He clearly takes pride in this apartment, everything was brand new and well maintained. The apartment itself is exactly as described, the shower is super powerful and the mattress really comfy. The only thing is, you can hear the neighbours coming and going in the hallway so pack some earplugs if this would bother you. The location is excellent, a one minute walk off the high street, 7 mins from train station with a few cute cafes nearby. I stayed for 9 weeks and was very happy.

Great apartment! Plenty big enough for 6 adults, 1 baby & 2 dogs. Plenty of bathrooms which was nice not having to share, great location (if you don’t mind a bit of a hill walking back) beautiful place to sightsee and get out and about. Kiran was great, asked for some recommendations and he had a full guide ready and had plenty of stuff to recommend.

a lovely place to stay, perfect for 1 person (though would fit two people). the host very kindly messaged prior to mention they supplied milk, butter + bread, noticed I was vegan and provided alternatives! there was tea + coffee provided, plus lots of seasonings and condiments in the cupboards should you need. comfortable bed, clean + tidy space and perfect for a 3 day trip. would definitely recommend :)

The place was fantastic. Our group really enjoyed our time there. The apartment was quite large with lots of space and amenities. I would highly recommend this place for larger groups visiting to the Peaks.

I stayed for 10 days and had a lovely time. It was very quiet and clean, the views at the property were amazing. It wasn't too far from nearby towns such as Buxton. Overall great experience.

it was a wonderful experience. The apartment was well maintained and had everything there for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The owner was very helpful with all the instructions too and checking in as well. The best part was that being right in the middle of city centre made it a perfection apartment to stay at with friends and family.

We had a wonderful stay for two weeks. Michelle was very friendly and helpful allowing us to check in early so we weren’t waiting with our suitcases and nowhere to go. The place itself is lovely - spacious but cozy, very clean, comfortable beds and plush towels. We had everything we needed for a great stay. Location is great. Just a few minutes walk to the local asda for groceries and a bus stop into town or the train station. Lots of parking if you drive. We had a great time and would definitely return again. Quiet, private, comfortable, clean, with added little extra's that make all the difference when staying in an Air band B. Could not fault anything - best place to stay when in Gainsborough - Louise is a star .

Great garden apartment, I have been several times as the location is great for me and it’s really comfortable and well equipped. Martin and Michelle are responsive and helpful hosts. Highly recommend

Right from the start, Diana couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Even when she realised the Sheffield Half Marathon was running, she let us know about road closures, parking & where the best places were to watch it, as well as a link to the local news website for up-to-date information.

Staying for over 2 weeks in this property in Chesterfield was an excellent choice. The neighborhood is clean, quiet, overall neat. Easy access and within walking distance to Chesterfield town center, a 15 minute walk to Chesterfield train station and access to buses. The property has all the needed amenities, comfortable and a restful place to be. It is as featured in the photographs. Parking space for one vehicle. The advantage of choosing this property is it has 2 bathrooms, one for each bedroom. Kitchen is fully equipped with full size fridge, microwave, oven, stove, kettle and toaster. No coffeemaker machine but that's not an issue, Instant Nescafé coffee is provided, plus tea and condiments for cooking. Our host was very attentive and quick to respond. The front door opens with an app, also a pin number can be provided by the host, I suggest you get the pin number and use it as the connection with the app at times was slow. For sure, without a doubt, it is the place to stay.
