Such a great property for a large family to enjoy the simple things. Photos are accurate and place is exactly as described. The reserve next door makes you feel like you have an even larger backyard. Great walks near by, easy access to lake a short walk or 2 minute drive away. Friendly and responsive hosts. Our 2nd time here and will visit again.

Peter's place is a rare find. Close to the hot spring, 30 min drive from Rotorua town centre. It is a working farm with horses, chicken etc. on site. It is such a special experience when you lift up your head in the room and see a horse staring at you through the window. We had great time there.

What a great place! Cathy and Bob are beautiful people and the property is so well organized and clean. Amazing children facilities as well. Only downside was the shower which was way too small for us (1.80 and 2m length).

Pauline and John were the perfect host. John was there to greet us and tell us about our accommodations. The views were amazing with peaceful surroundings. Pauline's breakfast was the best; fresh, delicious and abundant. My husband said the morning visits and breakfast were the best part of our trip (and we did many excursions). We were sad to leave after our 5 night stay. We felt like we were leaving family. If privacy is what you want, Pauline and John are more than willing to accommodate, but you would be missing out on an opportunity to know this delightful couple. The room was spotless with a special touch of delicious NZ wine and chocolates. If ever we are back in NZ again, we will definitely be staying here!

Our stay at Sonia’s Otaramarae house was amazing from start to finish, we usually stay at a very basic kiwi bach in Rotorua and this was a whole new experience with all the mod cons, comfy beds, wifi, Sky TV and a smart TV. The animals were very entertaining, fun to feed, and the daily fresh eggs were a big bonus. Already booking our stay for 2026 we enjoyed it so much. Sonia was super responsive to questions before and while we were there which was great. Appreciate being able to stay at this little piece of paradise.

Slice of paradise indeed! Stunning room, Cosy vibes and staying in the more rural parts of Rotorua was a very unique experience. The room was bigger than photos could show. A bunch of cute farm animals to see if that's your thing, for my wife this was a massive plus to see and help feed their 5 alpacas! The selection provided for breakfast was so thoughtful and very delicious. Close to everything despite its location, about 10 to 15mins away from Central Rotorua. The room had everything you needed, we really do recommend this space. Thank you again!

Joss and Wayne really have a beautiful spot and provide an absolute comfortable clean tidy and cute space for a good rest and relax. We enjoyed good conversations with them as we were welcomed and showed around. Felt very welcome and at home. Our room was set up perfectly and to be provided bubbles for the baths was a lovely added extra.

A hidden gem in Rotorua, would definitely stay again. A big, private deck looking out over rolling farmland with glimpses of lake Rotorua in the distance. A big, claw foot bath on the deck for indulgence. A roaring fireplace inside for winter, and a very good heat pump otherwise. A spacious, attractive place with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nice linen and gets lots of natural light from full height windows. Thanks so much for an amazing stay!

Great stay! Bonfire under the most beautiful sky of stars at night, fresh eggs from the chicken and the cutest animals to feed. Loved it, also the view from the top of the lookout was amazing, even with very friendly cows next to us. ☺️ Very peaceful and definitely worth a visit!

Kerris and Chris are wonderful hosts, very hospitable and friendly and made us feel very welcomed in their home, it really felt like a home away from home. The continental breakfast each morning was delicious. The place is easily accessible and located in convenient location close to town and the other activity's we needed to access during our stay. Her facility's are as described, clean, very well maintained and offers plenty to do if staying around the property, easily accommodated our extra luggage (mountain bikes) during our stay . Will defiantly be returning on our annual trip back to Rotorua, whether staying in the main house or one of the other accommodation options they have available.

We were very happy to spend the last 4 nights of our NZ trip at Toka Ridge 4. The property was pristine with beautiful views of the lake. It was a quiet area that felt a little remote, but the shops, restaurants and bustle of Roturua were just 15-20 mins away. Two easy Alltrails walks were within walking distance of the property. The Hamurana Lakefront Reserve Walkway (offering great views of the lake) began just down the road and, near its end, the Hamurana Springs Loop Walkway (a lovely/surprising mix of redwoods and cold springs with lots of ducks) began across the street. A few mosquitos did find us while visiting the jacuzzi just after dusk, but did not bother us during the day. The consensus of our group was that Toka 4 was the nicest Airbnb of our 5+ week NZ stay. Wonderful, peaceful location with lovely amenities! The eco-toilet was cool (no issues or smell, and a really intriguing way to be “off grid”), the outdoor tubs were fun to soak in and stargaze, the bed was comfy, and the farm animals were so sweet. Corrine was so kind and accommodating, super helpful with local recommendations and very sweetly helped us solve some luggage issues we had. We would absolutely recommend this spot for a quiet, private place away from the hustle of “Rotovegas” but also close enough to many local hotspots and services.

We used Joss and Wayne's place for a team building retreat. It was perfect. Plenty of bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen for our self-catering, beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Joss and Wayne were great hosts - showed us where everything was and then left us to it. As well as the great kitchen, there was also a lovely outside area with a BBQ for relaxing at night. Great venue. Would highly recommend.

The home is spacious but you do not feel disconnected. Beautiful surroundings and well equipt kitchen. The indoor outdoor flow gave as an additional seating area for dinners etc. Fabulous facilities could not think of anything else that would be needed there. Would highly recommend The Red Barn.

We had a lovely stay! The house is beautiful, spacious, and just like the pictures. It felt cozy and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The host was really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a small issue with the gas, and although we couldn’t reach them by phone, they were very responsive through the Airbnb app. Maybe having quicker phone support would be a nice improvement, but honestly, everything else was great. They even helped us recover something we had forgotten at the house, which we really appreciated. Overall, a wonderful experience and we’d happily stay again!

Rebecca and Rob are wonderful hosts! We had an amazing stay! We stayed a total of 17 nights and were glad to have a comfortable place with everything we needed, while we explored the surrounding towns and landscape. And to stay in and relax if we needed a chill day. When we were short of ideas of where to drive next, Rebecca had some wonderful suggestions.
