The bach was lovely, real kiwi bach also Toni was amazing to deal with and left clear instructions on how to get to the bach as well as checking ourselves in Had everything you possibly would need for a trip away I absolutely loved the place and such an awesome area! The beach would be perfect for kids or swimmers who aren't to confident as the waves aren't strong at all but also have the option of a short walk to the end of the beach to a big shallow area with very little to no waves I really recommend this little bach, I fell in love and definitely would stay again!!

Lovely property with everything you could need! Deborah was a fantastic host - incredibly friendly and kind! 5 mins walk to Hihi beach and town only a short 10-15min drive away this is a perfect spot to explore the area. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m back in the area. Many thanks indeed for letting me stay!

Thank you for sharing your space with us. My family of 5 stayed two nights, wish we had stayed a little longer. Beautiful views where we stayed in the caravan and tent. 11 out of 10 ! Claire was outstanding as a host. Spacious, off-street parking (plural), private, clean, fully equipped, comfortable, squillionaire views with almost ‘private’ beach access. Maybe someone didn’t mention the great outdoor shower for getting rid of beach sand ? This place is perfect for family gatherings. There is only one thing not perfect about this place….having to leave !

One of the Best Airbnb Experiences Ever! Our stay in Russell was absolutely unforgettable — this is hands down one of the best Airbnb's we have ever stayed at. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained spaces and super comfortable beds and living areas. But what really sets this place apart are the incredible outdoor features. The backyard opens directly onto the beach, creating the most amazing setting. With kayaks and a dinghy available to use, plus a trampoline, swings, volleyball net, and even a slackline, there's something for everyone — you could easily spend your entire stay without ever leaving the property! And after a day of exploring the water, soaking in the outdoor spa while watching the sunset is pure magic. Honestly, the photos in the listing don’t even come close to showing how special this place is. It exceeded every expectation, and we would rebook it in a heartbeat. Already hoping we can come back soon!

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped. Great for family group of 3 generations. Great views from all rooms and always something happening on estuary. Pool table, spa , pizza oven and kayaks provided great variety of options. Highly recommend

A modular bach with lots of separate rooms, older but has everything you need. Right across the road from the beach on a quiet street at Hihi. Easy care, extra hot in the sun, lots of comfort. Excellent communication from a great host.

Olivia’s place was so beautiful and provided a peaceful retreat. Such a stunning view that’s a little different each day. Being at a dark sky reserve also gave us such a rich view of the night sky and the stars! Thank you Olivia, I’ll be back again for sure!!

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

The cottage has a gorgeous view - such a treat to wake up to it every morning. Really spacious and ideal for a couple. Short drive away from some amazing beaches. Thank you, Kathy!

We had a great stay at Laurenc's place. Great location to the ferry and all the activities in the area. Restaurants and stores a few steps away! Laurence was quick to respond when we had questions. We didn't need to drive anywhere, which was great!

Loved our stay! Location was perfect for our stay. Directly across from the Marina where we had activities. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. And super close to grocery stores as well. The apartment was comfortable and very clean. Thanks for a great stay.

This was such an incredible retreat spot! Very secluded, with one of the most breathtaking views of Te Ngaere Bay! Our favorite part was the open-air option to enjoy cooking & dining inside while being outside. Very clean, modern & incredible espresso machine to enjoy cappuccinos with the epic sunrise! We also found it nice to have your own trail down to the beach & private plunge pool. Be prepared for a climb back up for some good exercise! Worth it… especially when you can take a nice cold (or hot) outdoor shower! Great communication & care from Kas & Rhys- they are awesome hosts!

Wow, we have truly enjoyed staying at Clive’s beautiful home, located on a gorgeous beach. The location was phenomenal, steps away from the beach with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The home is equipped with all the necessities, very spacious yet cozy, the floor to ceiling windows provide the best views from the living room and kitchen. We are already looking forward to coming back, we had such a wonderful experience.

We loved our holiday here. It was so relaxing and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool was great and we enjoyed the kayaks. Special mention to Michael in reception - so friendly and welcoming and a mine of information on where to go & what to do. Motel is retro style, brings back memories! Excellent beds with quality linen. Nice touches including snacks and juice, as well as thoughtful placement of lamps and artwork creating a lovely ambiance that you don’t often see in motels. Thanks so much - it was a fantastic experience.

Unique location above the marina. It was great to spend time on the deck watching the comings and goings of all the boats. The place was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The Marina Cafe across the carpark had great meals that we ate there two nights in a row. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

An absolute dream house! Stunning apartment with a gorgeous view. You definitely feel like spending a holiday with style :) Breakfast at Seaside restaurant are mind blowing! Best coffee in town. Blown away by location and beautifully presented home, complete with all the bells and whisltes. Loved that we had access to plenty of beach toys, games and books. Did not need a thing. Felt right at home after travelling 800kms. Perfect size for a big whanau who love the beach. The sunrises and sunsets are stunning.

Veronica was wonderful, even brought a jacket back to Auckland for us that we had accidentally left behind. We had a great stay, thanks so much.

We felt very comfortable at Jenny’s accommodation. It is just as described in the pictures. You should just be aware that it is located by a highway, which you can’t see but can hear. The view of the bay from the terrace and the living room is beautiful. Jenny was a very accommodating and generous host. Thank you very much.

Hands down the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed— house was spotless and beautifully appointed, so comfortable with all that you could want for a getaway. The views of the water are mesmerizing, glorious sunrises and birdsong, with kiwi calls and dark skies full of stars at night. Highly recommend this property to anyone in search of tranquility and luxury.
