What a find. Such a beautiful location for our little break. Such friendly hosts. Everything was wonderful and our children are already asking when we can go back! Both Suzanne and Mark were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay so special 😊

We were absolutely delighted to use Paul's cottage as the filming location for our student short film. The scenery was stunning, and the tranquil environment provided the perfect atmosphere for our creative work. The cottage itself was clean, beautiful, and full of warm, thoughtful details. Paul and Maggie were incredibly hospitable, ensuring we had hot water, coffee, tea, and snacks to keep us comfortable during the chilly evenings. Paul was also highly responsive, always addressing our needs promptly and helping us resolve any issues efficiently, making the entire filming process smooth and enjoyable. This was a truly wonderful experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend it! ✨

Really really good stay. Enjoyed the use of the indoor and outdoor fires, especially under the stars and listening to the owls. Kathryn & Trevor have really used the space well and it feels very private. Trevor welcomed us from the beginning and was very friendly and showed us to the hut. Perfect weekend away to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones. Thank you for letting us stay in such a lovely peaceful space! Oh and the sheep are extremely friendly too!

Had a lovely night away at Jo’s shepherds hut. Beautiful inside and homely, Jo was an amazing host and very helpful!! Will definitely be coming back ❤️

Had a lovely couple of nights. Peter was a great host, greeted from the moment we arrived and was very quick to respond whenever we needed anything. The hut was kitted out with everything you needed. Would definitely recommend.

The cabin is lovely and cosy! It has a very comfortable bed. It is very private and quiet. The hot tub was switched on at arrival and was very relaxing. There was extra add on packages you can opt for, we selected the breakfast package and it’s extremely good value, the quality of the goodies was excellent. Carly was extremely responsive and helpful when we had questions and we will definitely be back, next time for a longer stay.

absolutely incredible place, so peaceful and so much wildlife. felt very at home. My dog felt very at home in the woods and in the little river. wonderful place could not recommend it enough. Jordan was a fantastic host. 5 stars all round.

Lovely place to stay, hot tub was lovely and in a secluded area. I would definitely stay here again. To improve the stay I wish we had more firewood to keep the fire going for longer and it’s a shame there’s not anymore cooking appliances other than a microwave. I also think check- in being 4pm is quite late and check-out being 10am is quite early, it makes the stay feel rushed and less like you’re getting your value for money

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this shepherd's hut! The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, offering plenty of great recommendations for things to do in the area. The location is idyllic and is nestled right by a peaceful lake. It was the perfect spot for some much needed relaxation. Despite feeling like a tranquil retreat, it’s only a short 20 minute drive to York city centre, which was so convenient. The hut itself was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning setting. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

We had a fantastic stay in Annie, which was peaceful and just what we needed! Surround by gorgeous views and nature. The Shephard’s Hut was cosy which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, which was made extra special by the welcome package that Jane had arranged. The hot tub was fantastic and we spent most of our time over the 2 nights relaxing in the warmth, gazing under the stars! It’s not close to any local amenities, so definitely plan your trip with this in consideration and explore some of the local villages and restaurants. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking to disconnect and relax for a few days. Thank you Jane for making us feel welcomed and for a lovely break.

Great stay in the hut! Perfect for a night away with some amazing dog walks 5 minutes away, local town of stokesly has all the amenities you need only 5 mins drive. Loved the fire pit, dog friendly surroundings, electric blanket was amazing, nice and clean bedding and towels and all round very clean in the hut, Great host, let us check in early and we was not rushed to leave. Marshmallows and a BBQ supplied , would defo stay again, sitting outside watching the sun set with roseberry topping in the distance was an absolute highlight! Thank you!!

We had a fabulous stay at this shepherds hut, everything was as it was described, there was everything we could need there. Its very well presented and so cosy. The hot tub took a while to get to temperature but once it was it maintained the perfect heat. Its a very private location, you arent over looked at all. We went to Kip and Nook which is a 3 min drive away and had pizza and used the facilities which was lovely. Hosts were very responsive. Would 100% return

What a fantastic idyllic spot! We loved our stay. Bruce was a brilliant host. Amazing tray of treats upon arrival, the cheese was delicious, really delicious! Wagon was quirky, comfy, and just all around amazing. We will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic stay, the photos didn’t do the enchanted hut justice, was way above our expectations, so much private space and extremely peaceful, sat out with the fire pit all night relaxing. Sharon came over to say hi and check on us. Must say this was the perfect break. The Enchanted Hut was very clean and the kitchen was perfect, highly recommend staying.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin, lots of lovely walks to do and a very nice and peaceful village. Both Lizzie and David were very helpful offering advice on the local area as-well as having very fast responses to any questions or queries we had. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Yorkshire countryside.

We had a great relaxing stay in the Shepherds Watch with our little dog. Everything was spotless and a bit quirky, just how we like it. The Scratching shed is a joy to behold we would definitely book again.

Our stay was absolutely perfect, the hut was lovely and in such a nice area plenty of pubs and walks around! Would 100% recommend!

What an amazing place.the wooden hot tub was perfect looking over the fields,the bed was so comfortable and leaving milk and a bottle for us to enjoy our time was the most thoughtful thing ever. Thank you can’t wait to come back

This was our first time staying in a Shepards Hut & windmill retreats exceeded my expectations. Our stay was perfect from start to finish and we felt right at home. It was amazing to escape reality for a couple of days and we will most definitely be back soon.
