Absolutely beautiful, very relaxing place, you feel like your really in the middle of nowhere. Had a beautiful hamper On arrival with so much stuff it really was appreciated. Very clean and nice dog walks around the lake. Lots of cleaning products which was great too. Would definitely recommend.

Bugg Cottage is a lovely home from home in a stunning location with far reaching views. The only problem was we didn’t stay long enough! Kim answered all questions quickly and couldn’t have been more helpful. There was even a very yummy home baked cake left in the kitchen which was a welcomed surprise! Locally the village pub was excellent and the marina walk to the cafe was good (but cold!). Plenty of sea birds to spot and there was a herd of wild deer just beyond the cottage window. Would absolutely recommend Kim’s beautiful cottage to anyone!

A lovely house tucked away in the forest. Plenty of places to walk to and not far to drive to the coast. Great house and the hot tub is lovely, was running when we arrived. The WiFi was not working a lot of the time unfortunately and limited phone signal but always a good excuse to read a book.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property which was in pristine condition. Very close to the university which was exactly what we needed for this visit. The free parking space round the back was super convenient. The house was well stocked with all the essentials and some luxuries too - a nice surprise. We'd like to thank our hosts for having the property ready for us in such a welcoming way. This was definitely one of the best places we've stayed at in Colchester in this price range, with lovely hosts too. We're looking forward to our next visit.

This home and host is a little hidden gem of west mersea. The house is impeccably clean and cosy and honestly felt like home from home I slept well all 3 nights which is rare for me when away from home. The home has just about everything you could think of in it making life so much easier all round. Everything went smoothly thanks to Jayne who was very accommodating and helpful from the moment of booking until leaving. Would definitely want to stay again in the future. Thank you Jayne.

We had a lovely stay. We booked a last minute weekend away as a little treat and this was great. The lodge is warm and cozy and inviting (especially great since we visited in January/ February!). Sue was great, super responsive and flexible when we were running late. Garden and hot tub were great, we really enjoyed making a fire and sitting in the hot tub when it was -2 out, hearing the owls at night. Lovely. Place was spotless with good facilities, comfy bed, great quality huge tv, well equipt kitchen and with glasses to use both inside and outside. Neither of us fish but that didn’t matter we still enjoyed a wander around and fed the goats. Taxis find the location easily and there is a good selection of places to eat. We went to Witham and it’s easily reachable in a taxi. We would definitely visit again! Thanks, very enjoyable.

Good location for visiting Clacton-on-sea; very close to my friend’s house so we most likely will come back again

Christina was such a helpful host. She came to meet me at the station to make sure that I got there ok. Her place was lovely - clean & cosy and very well located. I slept very well during my stay and everything that I needed was right in my doorstep. Thanks Christina 🙂

We were made very welcome when we arrived. The annex is lovely, well equipped, really comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. very peaceful getaway.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Apartment. Sarah was incredibly welcoming, kind, and made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment itself was spotless, well-equipped, and had such a cozy atmosphere. It felt like a home away from home! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you again for such a great experience!

I had a fantastic stay. The host was very helpful and responsive. I was running abit late when checking out as the clocks changed and caught me out but the host was very accommodative. Overall a great experience!

We had a lovely stay at the Cart, beautiful lakes and excellent fishing. The hosts were fantastic and there is a little cafe onsite. I would recommend staying here.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Lovely, clean and welcoming. Set in a beautiful location and the accommodation has been finished to a high standard. Beds are super comfy, WiFi and heating were amazing and everything we needed was available. Only problem we should have booked 4 nights ;)

Lovely relaxing long weekend in the Suffolk countryside. We were treated to local bread, butter and a lovely bottle of wine. We enjoyed our bbq and paddle on the boating lake, which our hosts were kind enough to arrange for us. Even helped us out when we left things behind - much appreciated. The Calf Pens Is a beautifully cosy home from home - would highly recommend.

What a fabulous place. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. Some brilliant walks with the dog as recommended by Bob even included great pub stops. We spent lovely evenings sitting by the pond listening to the wildlife. Would definitely recommend. This is our second booking with Grove cottages and have another upcoming!
