great location, super quiet. could use more heating in the winter (bathroom & shower cold), but would totally stay again!

Our stay in this Kyoto home was wonderful! The house was beautiful, modern, and exceptionally clean, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. All instructions provided were clear and easy to follow. Location is quiet but a quick minute walk to Kyoto Station. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kyoto!

If you're interested in a more traditional experience, Koji and Eri's place is beautiful, authentic, clean, and comfortable. Everything is so well thought out and set up for guests, with many authentic touches like tatami floors and a sunken dining area. It was plenty spacious for our family of four. There are some things that require adjustment, like low thresholds, steep stairs, and stepping outside to access the bathroom, but they really do add to the charm. Who wants to go all the way to Japan only to stay at a place that feels like a Holiday Inn? The location is great for exploring some of Kyoto's prime areas of interest. Communication in advance and at check-in was in English and was very clear. The personal interaction at arrival (with Eri in full Kimono) was a highlight. They are very proud of this home and take amazing care of it.

We absolutely loved this space. It was exactly what we needed after an intensive first week of travel in Japan. We were looking for something similar to a Ryokan but was more private. The large tub was the main reason we booked and it absolutely did not disappoint. It brought us all the zen we needed. The host allowed us to drop our bags early as well so we could explore and come back later for check in. Thank you for this lovely space. We wish we could have stayed more nights!!

séjour très agréable. emplacement idéal proche des commerces, du métro, de la gare. le logement très propre, lumineux, les lits confortables, la salle de bains grande, l endroit est calme bien que proche du centre ville. c est la deuxième fois que nous venons et nous reviendrons. à recommander fortement.

Beautiful home. Clean, traditional, and perfect for our family of seven. The home, host, and hospitality exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to staying here again.

Our group of 4 enjoyed the only 7 min walk to central Kyoto station. It was spacious for all of us and was affordable when comparing surrounding airbnbs. Some things to be aware of is exit light in the bedroom is bright, construction is happening behind the building (usually didn’t hear much until 830) and the room layout is shogun style. Despite all these, we enjoyed our stay!

The location so close to Kiyomizu-dera was amazing! Being so close, it allowed us to leave the sleeping teenagers while we went up for sunrise at the shrine to beat the crowds. It was breathtaking! It is also close to a bus stop that we used daily. The tub was delightful - after learning how to turn up the heat on the water and figure out how to work the controls with slight difficulty. The heated floors in the winter were amazing and the futons, although on the thinner side, there were extra and it was possible to double up (were 4 of us- i was the only one who needed it doubled). It is a GORGEOUS house and it is old and should be well respected. I would not want to have young children in the house with all the beautiful artwork, screens and steep stairs. And yes, people will hit their head but it’s part of the experience! We used the laundry with the help of Google trans - it does take a LONG time to dry things but it works! We would stay again if we can go back! LOVED it!

Loved our stay at Mio’s place. The apartment was a lot bigger than we expected and was extremely comfortable. The heating was great and the kitchen was well equipped. We stayed here with our baby and Mio left some toys for him to play with, which we really appreciated. Its a short walk to the train station yet out of the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. Theres also a 7/11 across the road and the coffee shop around the corner is incredible. Thanks Mio for such a lovely stay.

離京都車站很近，離永旺商場也很近。房源乾淨整潔，真的很有日式家庭的感覺，進入房源能聞到淡淡的木頭香，老闆娘很親切、友善且熱情，我們要退房當天還去參觀老闆娘的另一個六人房型的房源，這個房源是日式榻榻米，另一個則偏現代，真的很推薦大家來京都旅遊時，來這住一晚。

We are very memorable in this house, clean, comfortable and can feel the traditional Japanese atmosphere like tatami and sleep on futon. The location of the house is very close to Arashiyama Station. We are very grateful to Yamano as a host, very friendly and kind, offering to pick us up from the station because it was raining. Giving us delicious snacks and post cards. Very memorable in our hearts for the kindness of Yamano and family.

Authentic Japanese Apartment in a great location! The place was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

近くの大学の受験時に息子と癒し要員のワンコと２泊お世話になりました。 広々とした静かな環境で集中することが出来ていたようです。 やはり一番の素晴らしさは大きな檜風呂‼ 息子も朝から窓を開け露天風呂にして身体を温めリラックスしてから出発していました。 私自身も滞在時に何度この素晴らしい檜風呂をよばれたことでしょう。 京都はやはり寒さが厳しいですが、身体が冷えたらすぐに温まりにいける素晴らしいお宿でした。 子どもが試験中の日中は大文字山に登山に行ったり、ポカポカと日の当たる縁側で飲む珈琲が最高でした。 オーナーのJinnさんも暖かく迎え入れてくださり、最後の制服姿のお写真を撮ってくださってとても素敵な記念となりました。 本当にお世話になりました。またお願いします‼

We stayed with our cats for 9 nights and think they enjoyed the view of the garden as well as the heated corridor. Our Shinkansen was delayed by 30-40mins due to snow, but we were welcomed into the house and were shown around quickly. The house had all the essentials, and felt quite warm with all the a/c, floor heaters, and gas heaters even in February. The water pressure in the bath was very strong too. If you are a member of times car share, there's a station a few mins walk from the house, right next to the bus stop. We stumbled on a sushi restaurant called Koto(?) on the south side of Fushimi train station, it was great. We ordered the most expensive sushi menu which was only 2,000 yen per person and sushi after sushi came out as they made, and each one was very fresh and tasty. You can't even get sushi under 2,000 on ubereats, and I don't know how they do it. We were the only customer and while there's no English menu or speaker there, you can use Google translator to order.

We had a wonderful and warm stay at Haruya Guesthouse. Something about this little house in a peaceful valley, their kindness as a family, is very moving and impactful. Even now back in my home country, I think of our time there. We took dinner with Harafumi and Yumi and their family one of the nights, and we highly recommend it if there is the opportunity. The food is delicious and their company very interesting and warm. It was also Hinamatsuri Festival when we were there, so we were lucky to get to meet some others from nearby villages and share in some festivities. It gave us a peek into community and life in the mountain village and this place is very special! We loved going for walks with Lily and seeing Tora enjoying her time outside. Thank you for your kindness and for sharing this magical place with us. We look forward to staying again.

Had an amazing stay! The home was beautiful, peaceful, and in a fantastic location—close to everything yet quiet enough to relax. The host was incredibly responsive and provided great suggestions about the neighborhood. Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Nice traditional Japanese apartment with kitchen and bath in a quiet residential neighborhood. Quite close to Kyoto University (walking/biking distance). I had a comfortable stay for a week. The hosts Asami and Daniel are outstanding! They went out of their way to help me with everything. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Very convenient to JR line, Inari Shrine (10,000 gates), another subway line, a cute market and shops, and of course 7-11. We loved it. It was perfect.

非常满意这次的民宿体验，Harry的房子太优秀了，上下两层，休息和休闲空间分开，配备了投影和音响，房屋内的灯光设计也非常温馨。房子本身是非常传统的日式民居，有一个精致的小院子，同时配置了非常现代化的家电系统，很方便。 Harry本人很nice，来公交车站接我们，还推荐了非常地道的日料，下次来京都会再来住的！

I stayed in four locstions throughout my trip in Japan and I'm happy to say this was my favourite. Plenty of space, a lot of room! One thing to note is that it can get kinda cold, but once you turn on the heaters the place warms up well, it's not really a complaint but just something to look out for. I'd definitely stay again if I had the chance!

very nice experience, stayed like local people in kyoto. mr mitsuo was very nice and helpful good in english we got pickep up when we arrived and leaved the guest house. very satisfying! thank you very much mr mitsuo for yout great hospitality 🤩

Yuki’s place is very nice, clean and super near at the train station.
