San Carlos : locations de villas de vacances

All the reviews are spot on! This is our 3rd trip to Costa Rica and we were looking for something a little different than a normal stay at a resort. Eduardo & Marshal (father & son) were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. The house is huge! We enjoyed the balcony the most because you won’t have a better view in all of Costa Rica. It’s phenomenal! Towels were provided for trips to the hot springs. We did a rafting trip with our boys in the area, recommended and booked by Eduardo, that we will always remember. If you want to see toucans flying in the wild…book this amazing place right now. It was perfect sleeping at night. The windows were open, no bugs, and it even felt a little chilly during the night. Extra blankets were provided in all the sleeping areas. Our kids enjoyed the one bedroom apartment up top. The house has 3 separate areas for sleeping and hanging out. We loved it all and wanted to take the dog home with us! We hope to stay again!

We loved our stay! The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed looking at all of the different plants and watching the birds. We even saw parrots! We could also hear howler monkeys a couple times during our stay. It was a great location to explore the area from. Walkable to town if wanted. The house is amazingly pest free considering the climate. We were very impressed. Even the yard did not have many bugs - could be due to the plethora of birds available to clean up, and the meticulously kept yard. One of our favorite parts was the visiting bichon frise dog named Domingo! He belongs to one of the neighbors and is the perfect gentleman and a wonderful host :) He was always there to say hello and hang out while you were outside. We loved him! We would stay here again. The pool was great to cool off in.

We had an amazing stay! Close enough to activities but private enough for our liking. It was exactly what we were looking for. The jacuzzi tub was a nice added touch. Had everything we needed, no complaints!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, safe and private. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.. I loved having coffee on the covered deck, watching birds and taking in the garden. It was so nice to be able to easily walk to restaurants and grocery. We didn't meet Rosy, but were welcomed by her sister, who made us feel right at home. Whole planning our visit, Rosy was super helpful, answering some questions about the area and connecting us with an excellent guide (Raul) for a night hike.

Property was spotless and beautiful view of volcano. Perfect “base camp” for a family of four for all of the La Fortuna activities. There was an issue with one of the upstairs doors when we arrived but property management graciously resolved it. Only mention is it’s close to busy road (lots of trucks & motorcycles drive by all hours of night). Area very safe. Would definitely rent again.

Let’s just start by saying Patrick is an exceptional host! I stayed with a group of 5 and we had an amazing time. Patrick was incredibly attentive, kind, and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. He responds within minutes no matter what time it is. The place was spotless and well-maintained, creating a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. I truly felt at home. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a clean, hospitable, and welcoming place to stay! P.S

It was an amazing place for me and my partner. It was about 10-14min away from all the restaurants and downtown La Fortuna, which was very convenient when going on tours and going out to eat/explore. It gets a bit noisy at night, you can hear all the animals when you are sleeping, so if you are a light sleeper have that in mind. Also, keep in mind you are in the middle of the forest, and to get to the place you have to go through an unpaved road, but nothing crazy. I recommend having mosquito repellent at all times even when you are inside since you can’t always keep them outside. It is all like the pictures and it delivers the full Costa Rican experience of connecting with nature.

Home Vacations is an excellent company to stay with. We originally were going to rent a car but decided it was better to have our host Carlos plan any transfers, transportation, or taxis we needed. Carlos set up all of our excursions. He made it easy to plan our days of adventure and dining experiences. The home was very clean. We had everything we needed. The pool was a nice touch.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de 3 nuits à la Villa Fortuna (du 10 au 12 février), en groupe de 12 personnes (3 couples, 4 femmes et 2 hommes). La maison est spacieuse et bien équipée, à l’exception de la petite chambre à l’étage avec un lit superposé, qui est assez exiguë pour deux personnes. L’accueil par Matías a été parfait, avec une grande flexibilité sur l’horaire d’arrivée. La maison était extrêmement propre, et nous avons beaucoup apprécié les espaces extérieurs : la piscine, les hamacs et le terrain de volley-ball qui ont ajouté une vraie plus-value à notre séjour. Matías a été très réactif et disponible, nous donnant de nombreuses recommandations sur les activités à faire dans la région. Nous avons tout adoré, et nous recommandons vivement ce logement à ceux qui cherchent un endroit confortable et agréable pour explorer La Fortuna. Merci encore pour tout !

We were two families with teenage kids and really enjoyed the sleeping arrangements and that each adult couple and sets of kids had their own bungalow. The area was peaceful and just outside of town but quick and easy drive/ride into town (no problem Ubering to town). It’s a very authentic accommodations but still had AC and full kitchen. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The place is incredible. Very spacious, secluded, and beautiful. The kitchen is very well stocked. So easy to make a big meal for lots of people. The access road is very challenging and I would recommend a 4x4.

Nice and quite place, spacious rooms, and great amenities.

We had 12 people including an infant, 3 young children, 3 married couples and two single. There was space and privacy for everyone. The home was spotless and the kitchen was massive with a table to hold all of us at once. We asked for a chef for a few of the meals and they were our best meals of the trip. The servers and chef could not be nicer and they cleaned everything when we finished. The recommendations made by the host were all exceptional. We had a rafting trip and chocolate tour that were fabulous. Our guide for the Rio Celeste could not have been nicer. They surprised my 28 year old daughter with a birthday cake. This would be my first choice if I get back to Costa Rica.

We had an amazing trip in Danny’s property. Our only regret was not booking longer! Danny was extremely responsive and helped us coordinate massages for my group of 9 at the property. The bird watching from the patio is absolutely world class. Our daily walks down to the river that pass through the property were my favorite part. Very close to all that La Fortuna has to offer

We had a great family vacation at this beautiful property. The setup is ideal as the great room is large enough for everyone to spend lots of quality time together. There's a pool table, large TV and lots of seating. The location worked well for us and was about 15 to 20 minutes from most of the activities we decided upon (which William and Laura helped arrange). I would highly recommend William and Laura's place for a get together with a large group.

Comfortable place for our family with two kids while visiting La Fortuna. Two comfortable rooms with good AC. The primary bedroom has a nice outdoor shower. The pool is smaller than it appears in the pictures but our kids loved it. Nice views of the volcano. This cottage is one of several in the same compound. It's secured with a gate, has convenient parking, and has a shared laundry room that was fully stocked so we could wash and dry clothes. The host was very proactive in communications and had great instructions. Their guidebook was also very helpful. El Chante Verde (just a couple hundred meters away) is particularly excellent!

This accommodation actually surpassed our expectations. It looks even better in reality. Although we did not meet our host personally, he/she (sorry, I don't know) was communicative and proactive when we encountered a problem with the gate, so the problem was solved in very short time. I liked its location in a relatively quite part on the outskirts of La Fortuna. It was a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. After a busy day hiking kids loved to refresh in the wonderful pool. There's a lot of space to relax, very well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. I can highly recommend this place.

This place is perfect. About a 3 minute drive to downtown La Fortuna which has a ton to do, see, eat. There are also a few walkable places. There is a market / souvenir about 100m down the street. This place is the perfect mix of privacy with access to the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna within minutes. There is also lots of nature and animals right at the house. We saw multiple lizards, toads, birds by just taking a lap around the house. Highly recommend.

Our family LOVED this home! It was so very private and fun! We loved the pool and all the outside living space. Oh, the volcano view was the icing on the cake! It was fun to walk to a nice meal and enjoy the town. The adventures we choose nearby were perfect! We would return in a second! Thank you for making our first half of our vacation WONDERFUL! Donna

Our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) loved this place as our home base during our 5 nights in La Fortuna. The weather was abnormally rainy for this time of year so we didn’t get to enjoy the pool or volcano view as much as we had hoped but it was still wonderful. Tip: if you don’t get groceries before arriving here like us, go to the Super Rosvil - I promise it will be your best selection in town. We learned the hard way. We loved our adventures here and had really good food too. The Green Spoon, Jungle Bowls, Travesía and Cafe Mediterranea were just a few of our favorites. We also enjoyed the free hot springs and el salto rope swing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Loved our stay at Peter's house! Location is perfect - close to town yet extremely private. Peter was very responsive and met with us for a smooth check-in. His home looks exactly like the photos. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. By far the best part of the property is the gorgeous backyard, patio, and pool. We spent most of our time there enjoying the lush landscape and wildlife. Would absolutely recommend!

The home was beautiful inside and out. We really enjoyed the view of the volcano from the lush garden out front. Inside was clean and had everything we needed for our family of 4. Will stay here again next time we’re in town.

Casa Colette is a lovely home just outside of La Fortuna. It has everything you will need during your stay. The place is bright and clean, the kitchen is well stocked. There is now a couch in the living area which is greatly appreciated. There is a large TV on the wall in the bedroom with Netflix and comfortable queen bed. We appreciated the walk-in shower with rain shower head. There is a grocery store and local restaurants within a few minutes walk and a 1.8KM walk to main La Fortuna area. Communication was amazing, we had difficulty finding the house and our host was immediately on hand to make sure we arrived without issue. We felt very safe walking around the area and enjoyed seeing the view of Arenal throughout our stay.
