Santa María Huazolotitlán : locations de vacances

Seven of us, all from various backgrounds and locations in California, stayed at New Ruins for 6 nights for my 40th birthday. We rented the Dome Complex (three domes) and the Stargazer. We were grateful we opted for the extra space and privacy of renting the whole facility. Even in the very rainiest time of the year (mid September), the trip was extraordinary. I asked Nico lots of questions over the months leading up to the trip, and his replies were prompt and extremely useful. We are also so thankful we took the advice to have most of our meals from the chef Ximena and her assistants Jari and Marta. Ximena's love for food and people, and values of respect for the land and local economy were in every meal. All the food was a delicious luxury, and a great way to learn about where we were staying. We flew into PXM in Puerto Escondido and rented a car for the week from Leslie's Car Rental. That worked great for us and was affordable for the group. Even with good directions, we had a little trouble finding it on the first try. It's very remote, and the roads off the highway are unpaved. We felt very safe the whole time, and were easily able to ask local people at worksites for some help getting to our destination. Best not to arrive after dark in case you have any of our same issues with navigation. The white PVC fence and rad deer mural helped us know we were in the right place. We could have easily spent most of our time on the property, just relaxing and taking in the people and environment of New Ruins, and enjoying short walks to the ocean. We are also glad we ventured out, spending some time in the nearby town and National Park. Two of us speak beginner/intermediate Spanish, and we managed just fine. With the help of our guide recommended by Nico, we took an extraordinary ride through the Mangroves and spent the day on a beach. On the way back, we swam in the bioluminescence. A real adventure. Ximena took us on a fabulous market tour. Nico even gave us some recommendations for places to explore during our extended layover in Mexico City. The two of them never steered us wrong. This is a rustic place. This is not to say it wasn't comfortable - it was dreamy. But it is in a semi-wild place and allows an interface between inside and outside. The on-site solar means that when it's overcast and storming all day, you have to be conscientious of power use, and tolerate some gaps. There are no hot showers, but it was never cold enough to be uncomfortable for us. The showers and dips in the pool were always a refreshing reset. A couple of our group members needed to do remote work on the trip and were able to access strong wi-fi indoors and out. We could not have asked for more and we plan to come back to experience this special place in the future. We look forward to following New Ruins to keep up with the project as it grows. The casitas are exactly as pictured—clean and well-appointed. I especially appreciated the garrafon of water waiting for me upon arrival; I wish more places offered this thoughtful touch. There was an issue with not receiving either set of keys upon arrival, but when I brought this up to Arturo, he responded promptly with solutions. On my final night, Javier prepared an amazing dinner for me (for a fee). If you're sensitive to heat, this is not the best option for you. Although the property is situated right next to the ocean, I didn’t feel any breeze in the casita. However, for me, the fans were adequate for a suitable night's sleep.

We had the most incredible stay in Chacahua. The location and overall vibes of this place were unimaginable. Nathan was super easy to communicate with and 10000% would recommend. We’ll be back!

No hay palabras para describir este lugar y toda la amabilidad!!!!!!!!! Nat nos ayudó con el contacto de las personas correctas para llegar y fueron muy amables con nosotros ya que nuestra llegada se retrasó más de lo esperado. El lugar es tal y como se describe en las fotos. Frente al mar, con el amanecer frente a ti. Con las estrellas en la noche a la orilla del mar. Simplemente es el lugar al que todos quisieran vacacionar alguna vez en su vida. Los mosquiteros fueron de gran ayuda !! Esperamos volver y sentirnos de nuevo en un bello sueño

un posto meraviglioso. Albe e tramonti da mozzare il fiato. la zona è molto tranquilla, ma vicina al centro. la notte si sente solo lo splendido rumore delle onde e la mattina il canto degli uccellini. il letto è veramente grande e la stanza allestita con gusto. spero di tornare presto!
