We had a wonderful family vacation at Nelson’s home. The place was even more beautiful than the pictures. We would love to come back someday. Thank you for this gem!

We love our stay at the villa. It’s gated and private with direct access to the lake behind the house. On clear days you can see the three volcanoes at the lake. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Very peaceful, you can hear birds singing. The interior is beautiful and cozy for the four of us. The house manager Juan is there during the day and took great care of us during our stay. We love that we are just a few steps from the center of the village with a church, market and few local shops. Santa Catalina Palopo is a charming, small, very local village. Just 10-15 mins tuk tuk ride away from Panajachel where you can catch public boat to visit other parts of the lake. We are glad we picked this place as our home base during our visit.

Really nice place to stay, it was organized and clean. It also had a beautiful view. Adolfo was great at responding our messages really fast! Would totally stay at Adolfo’s again.

Truly a tranquil oasis. After 2 weeks in another Pueblo on the lake, we treated ourselves to a stay at Casa Valdes. The kids were in heaven in the pool. The kitchen was so well stocked for cooking. Beds incredibly comfortable. Waking up to bird songs out the beautiful windows with breathtaking vistas was heavenly. The walk to the dock to catch a boat ride was easy. Walking up the hill to Santa Cruz was steep but straightforward. Don’t miss a meal at CEPAC in Santa Cruz. The only considerations, which PJ & Stewart outlined very well, is that you must think ahead about meal planning as you are not an easy walk to buy street food easily. Plan to bring provisions (we opted to stock the fridge with fresh tortillas, avocados, lime & salt along with mangos and papayas and were in heaven); make arrangements for Dominga to cook (delicious!) or plan a walk up the hill to CEPAC or a reservation down the dock at iguana perdida. We loved our stay so much!

Gonna was an incredible host! When we arrived (which was earlier than check in), she allowed us to drop off our luggage while we went to go explore the lake and take a trip into Panajachel. The house was beautiful and whenever we needed something, sure enough, there was already printed instructions at the house for help. If we had any questions she was super attentive and responded in a timely manner. We used her recommended private driver, Erick, and he too was incredible. He accommodated all of us very nicely and even gave recs around the Lake and in Antigua. Overall an amazing experience.

The place was quiet and peaceful while being close enough from Panajachel. Both rooms have a balcony and so is the living room directly across the lake and volcano. The walk to the lake is steep, so I suggest skipping it if you are not well conditioned to climb back up. It gets pretty cold in the morning but there is hot water available in the shower as well as shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Daniel was very responsive and made this trip easier for my group and had immediately gotten us a private shuttle from Antigua and back to the city, as well as a private lancha to take us to any villages we wanted to go. Tour guide is included in San Juan la Laguna. A 4x4 was sent to us daily and the driver Ramiro was also very helpful and responsive. If you book with them, you and your group will be the most important people during this trip.

Great place to stay if you want to be in San Pedro but still have quiet. The casita was beautiful and Ximena was the best super friendly. I definitely recommend. Only thing is that there’s a lot of steps to get up to where the Bnb is. But you’ll find a lot of steps and hills everywhere in the lake. Beautiful place.

Todo acorde a la publicación, lugar tranquilo y de fácil acceso cerca de restaurantes y lago. Ingrid fue muy mable y siempre estuvo al pendiente de todo.

Juan es muy amable, la casa cumplía con todo lo mencionado. Un poco retirado de la zona céntrica, pero muy buen lugar para descansar.

Wow, what a magical place! Such a luxury to have all the comforts of the modern life in the highlands while watching the boats and birds passing by. Veronica prepared the most delicious food and Miguel Lukas was very helpful getting to and from the place. This place is stunning.

La Casita es un lugar que quedara en mi memoria por siempre, si lo que necesitas conectar contigo mismo y dedicarte a la contemplación no dudes en hospedarte aqui. El diseño de la casa es muy funcional y tendrás todo lo necesario si es que quieres quedarte varios días. Tus mejores vecinos serán as ardillas, el viento y las aves. Si tienes una maleta pesada es mejor dejarla en Panajachel en algún hotel y hacer una maleta con lo necesario para los días que te hospedes. La comunidad es cerca para hacer actividades culturales, comprar comida si es que quieres cocinar y hay un restaurant con vista maravillosa. Uno de los mejores airbnb que he experimentado, lleno de detalles y calor de hogar en cada pieza. Recomendadisimo, tony

Truly stunning home in an idyllic landscape. I love the raw connection to nature and expansive views of the lake. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive - a wonderful stay overall. Would recommend to others ands stay here again!

Une des meilleures expériences Airbnb de notre vie. Le logement était encore mieux que la description et les photos pouvaient le laisser croire. La vue est incroyable. La terrasse est immense et bien aménagée. Nous y avons passé une grande part de notre temps. La cuisine est bien équipée et fonctionnelle. Il y a aussi des sentiers de randonnée qui longent le lac de chaque côté et qui permettent de se rendre aux villages voisins. Notre seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu y passer plus de temps! Merci pour tout.

Wow, what a beautiful home, location, and host. It was wonderful for my children to have their own space, my daughter to play her violin without disturbing others, and the kitchen had more than we needed to cook. The location is wonderful; it is just a short walk to the swimming beach, and if you walk along the beach, it is quick to get to the main tourist locations. It was a gift to start and end the days in such a beautiful spot. Nicolas helped find things around town, was generous with transportation, and was welcoming to this beautiful home.

We loved the big deck on the roof top. We spent most of our time there eating our meals sipping evening drinks and morning coffee. The views are spectacular! There was a washing machine which was much appreciated. Its clean, comfortable and on 3 levels. Thank you for hosting us Laura we enjoyed our time in this place.
