Amazing views, great beach access, cozy house decor, peaceful atmosphere, and close to attractions that we wanted to see!

This property is not to be missed if you want a private, peaceful getaway on a beautiful sand beach. The weather we enjoyed was perfect and the sunrises and sunsets were beyond AMAZING!! At night, the stars lit up the sky as we sat on the beach by the firepit and just relaxed while reviewing our day. There is a grocery store and some restaurants in Manistique for food, about a 12-15 minute drive. Nice central location to explore and we were able to make day trips to Pictured Rocks, Marquette, Mackinac Island, and some other local attractions. The kitchen is well stocked and appliances are new, beds are comfortable with good linens, home is very clean, downstairs is cozy, upstairs is bright and light. No AC and we did have to break out the fans in the master which gets the most sunlight, but the cool nights would cool things down again. Highly recommend and would stay again!!

It is a beautiful place on the water and we couldn’t have asked for a more quiet vacation. We spent some time driving to local places all the way to the porcupine mountains but we also enjoyed time on the lake. We will definitely be back. Bob and Sarah were extremely friendly and responded very quickly if we had any questions but they had everything set up that we needed. We loved our stay.

We enjoyed our time in the north woods. Beautiful views from the decks. The house was well kept, very comfortable accommodations, and well stocked with pots/pans/utensils, as we prepared all our own meals. Did not use grill, but propane was available. Wifi met everyone's needs. Would stay again.

A hidden getaway with the perfect movie setup for feeling a good mesh between home theater and vacationing! The wrap around couch, stacks of popcorn and plethora of streaming services was exactly what we wanted for a Christmas getaway as a family! The beautiful views captured our attention non-stop, even during the winter! Lastly, we were blessed with snow on the first day that allowed for a snowman build on the beach! I highly recommend the beautiful escape that this lake house offers and look forward to getting more family to join us next trip! Thanks for blessing us with a great trip and wonderful Christmas away from home!

When we arrived we were so pleased with the space! It was beautiful and the quality of the home was apparent. The views were spectacular. The area was quite private and secluded; just what we were looking for. The space was perfectly sized and appointed for our group. We were disappointed by the following things, which we shared with the owner bc we couldn’t tell if it was a disrespectful guest, or things that had been overlooked by a cleaner. We discovered a broken plate placed carefully under the other dishes; coffee grinds and water in the coffee maker; and a multitude of dirty dishes, including pans, bowls, glasses, silverware, and plates. Again, this is not necessarily the owners fault, but for the cost, we wanted to be sure they knew how we found things bc we didn’t expect to have to wash all of our dishes before using them! We were careful to follow all checkout rules and leave the space neat and tidy. Can’t beat the beautiful sunsets and views.

This was such a beautiful place! I was scared because another review said there were mice but we didn’t see any evidence of mice, everything seemed well cleaned. The view was absolutely beautiful, being that close to the lake was amazing and we had so much fun spending time in the lake and on the beach. The house was very comfortable. My only complaint was the smell of the sink water.. which was in the description of the place so I wasn’t surprised, but washing my face was quite stinky haha overall a we had a wonderful time and will return sometime!

The Sandbox’s shoreline was stunning and the comforts of the beach house itself were perfection! The neighboring towns offered great spots for local shopping and dining, and SOOO many beautiful nature-based things to do await you! If you are at all put off by natural well water with a high iron content, buy some gallons of water to bring with you for drinking water/pets - other than that, absolute perfection (and important to note, totally outside of the control of the owners/management)!

We stayed here for a family snowmobile weekend in February and it was exactly what we wanted. Very nice place right on the lake and close to the snowmobile trail. Close to Midway General Store and a short drive to Kitchitikipi and Munising. Loved the Knotty Pine and Up North feel of the cabin. Jacqueline was very responsive and left detailed directions and recommendations. Would highly recommend.

We had a great stay, our second in two years. We love the feeling of being out in nature and the sense of privacy. This year our “neighbors” were two bald eagles we saw on the beach every morning while watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan. Some practical things to consider: the nearest grocery store is Jack’s in Manistique. Best to stop there before you arrive, it’s more than a short drive. And, take them seriously when they tell you to arrive during daylight! I wouldn’t want my first drive down the single-track access lane to be in the dark! If I were planning to stay there in the winter, I would check with the management company first to make sure my vehicle was up to it. When we arrived we found the EV charger not working, but we contacted the management company and they worked hard to make it right in less than 24 hours, even though it was a weekend.

Great place right on the lake! Will definitely want to come back in the summertime. Very clean, cozy, and exactly what we were looking for in the area. We will hopefully definitely be back!

This was my first trip to the UP and it did not disappoint. The home is secluded and the sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. I would highly recommend this home! Nicholas is also super responsive and proactive which I appreciate a lot.

We stayed in Keith's place from 09/28 to 10/05 2024. That was our third happy return to Ostrander Lake Oasis. The house is very welcoming and well maintained. Everything is in a very good condition and views are amazing. We had great time on a property. The weather was very warm so we had some fun on a lake riding paddle bike and kayak. In the evening we sat around fire making s'mores ,telling stories and do some stargazing . In a cabin we played games (there are lots of them there) . So it is always lots to do on a property, and It is close to Munising, Sand Point (another beautiful beach) and Pictured Rocks - about 30 minutes of driving, which is very convenient. We stayed in different places in UP before we finally found Keith's property, and now we stopped looking . We found everything we need for great vacation : clean, well equipped and welcoming house, beautiful views, friendly hosts that are always very easy to reach. Thank you Keith and Patricia! The house was perfect for what we needed with a peaceful beautiful lake. The necessities provided was a nice little bonus.

I can't say enough great things about the house. Talk about stunning! There was so much in the house to do... puzzles, games, painting and more. Although it was winter and we couldn't explore outside, it was perfectly breathtaking! We saw multiple types of wildlife. The lake view was so beautiful. We were here on our honeymoon and couldn't have had a more perfect spot. The bed was comfortable, towels n bedding were super soft. There isn't anything additional we could have asked for. We loved it so much that we are going to make it a regular place to vacation.

This place is perfect for snowmobiling. Go to end of road jump on fire road and dumps right at main trail. The cabin is super clean , warm and beds are great . Our group could not ask for more !!!

Angie is a super responsive, kind host. This was our second stay here, we appreciate the comfortable living room, well-stocked kitchen, and large table for gathering. It's a very short walk to the lake and convenient to town. Angie's communication is top notch! The stairs to the bedroom area are a bit precarious for older people, so a bit of caution there. Awesome to have our pups with us and the value is great for the space and location. We'll be back!
