Pandora Self Catering Stop Over - Pet Friendly

This is the perfect midway stop over for a family or group (including dog) travelling between Joburg and the Eastern Cape. Celeste has gone out of her way to make the place quirky and memorable while at same time ensuring your comfort and safe surroundings. The stoep is a perfect place for an evening braai and to relax after a long drive. The huge interior has many interesting objects from past days while the 4 private bedrooms (2 en-suite) are large and comfortable. The road infrastructure along this route is in excellent condition for travel and passes through magnificent scenic locations. The historic town of Aliwal North with its rejuvenated hot spring spa is a 20 minute drive away. A must visit for the adventurous traveler!

From the moment we got there we felt at home. Leaving behind all the stresses of Johannesburg, this place is a sanctuary. Enjoyed the hot tub, the comfy bed, and seeing all the beautiful stars! Will definitely be returning again. Thank you for the lovely stay Felicia and Jan ❤️

The location is firstly the highlight of Katherine's place. Nestled in the mountains and surrounded by mountains. Amazing. There are some nice spots you can walk / hike to such as going to the stream or up the mountain. Loved the remoteness, peace, and quiet. The cottage and in general Reedsdell has a lot of history to it There are dogs on the property and it is pet friendly After Barkly East, it's exclusively gravel roads, a high clearance vehicle is necessary

The scenery was incredible! We loved being right in the mountains - the hike to the cave was so beautiful and the kids enjoyed exploring the farm, milking cows and seeing the horses and sheep. We enjoyed having farm fresh milk daily ;) The house met our expectations and has everything you need for a relaxed stay. Justina was extremely helpful and friendly!

The Perch was perfect for our overnight stay en route to KZN. Clean, modern, comfortable, in a very peaceful & safe setting. Fritz was very friendly, even offering to deliver a meal to our door! The extra touches like the complimentary bottle of wine were very thoughtful. A lovely stay!

Het tuinhuisie is een fijne plek om te verblijven. Een heerlijke stop tussen de Drakensbergen en Addo. Aankomen in een ´huisie´ waar aan alles aandacht is besteed deed ons heel goed. Daarbij is Amanda ook nog eens erg vriendelijk en attent. Wat wil je nog meer?

Delightful cottage on the banks of the Kraai River

This was my second stay at Cora’s cottage, and it felt like coming home. The cottage is well-equipped and private. There are beautiful trails on the farm to walk, hike and run. I enjoyed a swim in the river and listening to the sounds of nature. I’d definitely recommend this for an individual or for a family/friend stay.

The Woolly Bugger Fishing Cottage (self-catering)

This is a hidden gem within the Stormberg. It has all the amenities you can wish for as well as a beautiful view. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a large bathroom. Everything you need is there. Kim is definitely a superhost, communicating with us regularly before, during and after the visit and sent very good instructions to find the route to the cottage. We had milk, tea, coffee and lovely rusks waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage has a beautiful setting overlooking a dam and part of the mountain. We are not fishermen but enjoyed the scenery, the birding both on the farm and the adjacent farm roads. We spent a peaceful old (2021) and new year (2022) at the cottage with only the occasional bird checking in. This is definitely the place to go if you want to rest and enjoy nature. We took long walks on the farm but it definitely also has cycling possibilities. A place to add to your itinerary.

Spacious wooden cabin with outdoor seating area and hot tub easy walking distance from town centre amd close to mountains. Friendly and responsive hosts who went the extra mile by sending on a watch with sentimental value we had accidentally left behind

This cute and comfortable home had everything we needed, well stocked kitchen, indoor braai and a coal fireplace to keep warm on the cold winter days. The cleaning staff would make us a fire each morning and clean the house. Very helpful indeed! We had a wonderful stay in the little cottage and would definitely return.

Great little spot at the foot of the mountains. Just what I needed at the end of a long drive. Felicia's husband Jan welcomed me to the cabin while it was pouring. Very friendly. Thanks guys, a very pleasant stay!

We had the most wonderful stay with Phyll. Her cottage is homely, neat and tidy, with super comfy beds and linen and set in the most beautiful and peaceful surrounds. Unfortunately we only had one night here, due to our travel schedule, but would absolutely have loved to stay longer ! We can highly recommend this farm stay...we'll be back for sure!

We booked last minute for an overnight atop driving back from our holiday....Fritz was super helpful and friendly and even organisedl take away dinner for us which he delivered. The neighbourhood is quiet and very peaceful. The accomodation is brand new, clean and had everything we needed. Excellent value for money.
