Shanty Hollow Lake : locations de vacances

If you’re scrolling through reviews trying to find the perfect place to stay-LOOK NO FURTHER! Every year we go somewhere different, off the beaten path, and this is one of our favorite things yet. We brought our two dogs with us and this place was the perfect stay for them. The windows allow them to see out and the enclosed porch allowed them to be outside without having to worry about leashes. We loved enjoying our morning coffee outside together. It was so peaceful and quiet. We saw plenty of birds, ducks, and even saw two beavers while kayaking in the snow! What an experience. The bed was very comfortable and the shower is huge! They have the stairs covered with a rubber tracking mat which was SO helpful for us and the dogs to go up/down. We did use the kayaks and paddles provided. That made this stay a stand out experience for us. It was the middle of winter so we felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. Definitely recommend this stay!!! Alicia was fantastic

Great communication. We had to reschedule due to an illness and the hosts were more than accommodating, refreshing to work with. We were staying to visit nearby Mammoth Cave but our kids had just as much fun at the cave/rock formation right on the property! Secluded and relaxing. Cabins are well kept and hosts thought of everything you would need!

The cozy cottage was very cute, spacious, and had a fantastic view of the lake! Jacob was very responsive and informative, and we had a wonderful stay. This was a great landing pad for exploring Mammoth Cave!

This home was a great getaway! Beautiful patio with a great view and peaceful neighborhood. I used apple maps to get there and it does drop you a few houses before the actual cabin but if you keep going down the road the driveway is marked well and easy to find. Jerry and Loie were quick to respond with any need while our stay! They do only have direct tv so if you are a tv watcher bring your own fire stick or roku stick for streaming! The hot tub was very clean, nice and toasty for the chilly days! I definitely recommend this home if you are looking to get away from the hustle of bigger cities!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cindy’s place. The house is decorated beautifully and it is oh so cozy and comfortable. My family loved playing games and there were many thoughtful touches such and s’mores supplies and a cute Christmas ornament. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again!

Lora's place is probably the best place we have stayed in. We are a large family, and travel plenty for sporting events. The kids were enamored with the home, The upstairs loft loaded with 6 beds was brilliant. As the chef, I felt right at home in her wonderful kitchen, and my wife loved all of the space for the family to spread out. This place will always be our home if we are near by. We Love this unique home, and its well stocked cabinets. Plenty of towels, and the restaurants and walmart are only 15 minutes away. Stay here, you will love it!

Wonderful time and experience. Even though its off a state highway, the property is far enough back that you dont see or hear the road. Neighbors are within sight but very far away through trees. It was nice a secluded for us. Beautiful scene to wake up to and eat breakfast on the deck. Lots of space to enjoy and play games outside. Plenty of room as well. Plenty of beds and rules are clearly outlined and reminded. A lot of tools and things to use within the house so we didn't need much for cooking and grilling. Only issue is the backyard is to a downward slant so any games needing flat ground like cornhole, its a bit rough to find but interesting. Our Host was excellent in letting us know if we needed anything. Keeping us involved. He kept us updated on the local flooding so we knew what we were to expect. He also let us know he had to come over for some work on the property. Didnt bother us but just let us know he was there. Great experience, would definitely come back.

To say that the cottages were amazing is just not enough. The surroundings, the stay, the furnishings were simply perfect for my families stay for my daughters wedding weekend. We were all able to be close as the cottages are just a hundred yards or so from the main house. This enabled us to enjoy so much together. I would highly recommend staying at both places if you have a large family and want a great get a way. I cannot say enough about the host and their generosity. They made the weekend magical.

This was our second time at James’ place, we absolutely love it. James is very friendly and responsive. The place is easy to find and beautiful inside and out. Sitting on the porch with a view of the water and listening to the animals is so peaceful! We also love walking to the bridge and checking out the waterfall and the older building there. Definitely a great place to come and relax, enjoy the outside and just have a good time with friends/family! Thanks again, James!
