This little cottage was so charming and perfect for a friends get away weekend. The location was super close to the local restaurants and the Spring houses. The home was thoughtfully set up and we had all the basic necessities for our stay. I appreciated the comfortable beds and the night lights. We had access to the hot tub, which was great after a day of hiking. There was a sauna too. I really enjoyed our stay and would choose this location again!

We enjoyed our stay and found the house to fit our needs very well. Six adults and four 6 and under children. Everyone had space. The Owner was very responsive to any issues we encountered and genuinely interested in our comfort.

We enjoyed our stay at Ashwood. We chose this spot as a halfway point on our way to a family reunion. So glad we did. This is a beautiful, peaceful area. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it is in late spring or in the fall.

This place is awesome. I hosted my company Xmas party there. The house has plenty of rooms on all 3 levels of the house. The view at sunset and sunrise are stunning looking out over the valley. It takes about 5 minutes to get from the house to snowshoe slopes.... it'll take much longer to find parking than commute there. The indoor pool was out of order for whatever reason when we were there. I probably wouldn't have booked had i known before the trip as it was a big selling point so that was super disappointing but it is what it is. TV on the main floor would not make a picture show. Not a huge deal but if my kids were with me it would have been a pain. The heater works awesome for such a big cabin and the fireplace creates awesome ambiance. I will probably rebook this for our spring trip if the pool is functional. Hot tub was great! Overall this is a giant house with room for everyone. Def a great place to enjoy your snowshoe wv getaway!

Location was great for Bath County. You'll need to either have a high clearance vehicle to ford the creek or walk over the foot bridge. The water smells like sulfur, but it didn't bother my family too much (bring your own water to drink like W&L recommend).

We will definitely be booking this place again. It is super easy to get to, peaceful, relaxing, quiet and refreshing. The house is beautiful inside and couldn’t have been any cleaner. We felt relaxed and right at home from the first moment we walked through the door. Sitting on the front porch was awesome and it does actually overlook the Greenbrier River Trail in Renick. From the house, we rode the trail north one day and south another and both ways were scenic and beautiful. I’m not normally a person who leaves reviews but our weekend was so relaxing and wonderful, I just really wanted to let future guests know about our experience.

We stayed here for a family vacation and had a wonderful time. The house is rambling in a wonderful, old-house sort of way. The kitchen and bathrooms are newly remodeled and gorgeous. The back yard is a big open flat space with a creek at the far end. We loved playing games in the yard, relaxing with chairs under the trees by the creek and chatting on the back deck that overlooks the yard. We were within walking distance of a small 'downtown' that had an art gallery, cafe and restaurant. The swimming ares of Lake Moomaw are either a 30 or 40 minute drive. One thing to note is that the driveway in and out of the house is quite steep and if your car sits lower to the ground, you will only be able to use the entrance closest to the Jefferson Baths.

The house and location were perfect for our family of five ski vacation. The slopes are just steps outside your door- we watched the kids ski off while we drank coffee on the deck. All the amenities included in the home made for great dinner & movie nights in after a long day of skiing. The fireplace was amazing and the shuttle stop is available to take you anywhere you need. We will be back!

The Tannery is such a charming home with a combination of antique and modern furnishings and art work. The location is outstanding. There is a big back yard that leads to a river with a private dipping pool. You can easily walk to the village and eat at the excellent Waterwheel restaurant . The Warm Springs baths are also very close and are very enjoyable. The bed at the Tannery is very comfortable, the shower water is plenty hot, and the kitchen well equipped. The internet is awesome. We would definitely like to return in the Spring or Summer.

Such a beautiful setting. The home was clean and not cluttered with trinkets. It was only a short 20 minute drive to snowshoe but the peacefulness of the location was really nice. Fields all around and lots of wildlife and horses was great to see. We arrived late and host had left lights on for us which was very kind. Host was also very workable when we had a booking issue. I did miss the part about the water having a sulfur smell but later saw it was listed in the description. A 5 gallon jug of filtered water for drinking would be a nice touch as we arrived too late to get to the store for water. Our only issue (and this seems to be a WVA thing as we have stayed other places that had them) is all the lady bugs trying to and finding ways to get inside. We loved the layout and our kids loved getting to have their own room on vacation!

The pictures are exactly like what it is. The space was clean and comfortable. The heaters in each room warmed up the space nicely. The kids were outside playing and it was lovely to hear them having fun! You can hear voices from upstairs when you are inside but not at all a bother. We just wanted to be mindful to quiet down by 11pm :) We will be back!

Ann was an amazing host and this was a perfect house if you want to be close to the area. Plenty of space and an awesome porch! The place was so clean and new and and al the amenities.

This is a cozy cabin on beautiful property with hiking trails right out the door, a small stocked pond, and great sledding hills. The road to the cabin was rougher than expected but we also arrived after lots of rain. I would not advise arriving after dark. The main floor is spacious with lots of seating and a large smart TV. The woodstove is awesome and puts out an incredible amount of heat. The mattresses are all medium-firm. No plush pillowtops here. But we knew this ahead of time and brought mattress toppers for those who needed them. Lots of warm blankets and comforters. We loved that the house uses solar and hydroelectric. This did mean monitoring the house’s power and several power outages, but it was always easy to get back online. And the house has a generator if needed. As a host, John‘s service and welcoming feel are unparalleled, and it felt like we were staying at the house of friends while they were out of town. He truly wants his guests to have a great experience.

Great old house with interesting historical structures out back. The view is beautiful. Comfortable living room and kitchen works well for cooking. Dining room was great for meals and board games. With two full bathrooms and four bedrooms, we had more than enough space for 4 adults. The wind was howling at night but earplugs help cut down the noise. Check out the weather before your trip, this is at a high elevation and can be windy and colder than you might expect in march. We went into McDowell and Monterey for the Maple Festival. Got the trout at Highs restaurant. Oh, also really enjoyed the walking trail behind the house. Highly likely we’d like to return some time, thank you!

Wonderful home for our large group and kids had own area downstairs. Hot tub was perfect way to end day after skiing. Snow Shoe Resort short drive away. Would rent again if we can back to Snow Shoe.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the cottage! It was beautifully decorated and very clean. It had everything that we needed in the house. The hostess was very good at communicating. The house was perfectly located near Warm Springs and Hot Springs. Would highly recommend. We would definitely stay again!

I loved the cabin, it is very well located near the mountain for skiing and the river behind gives you a lot of peace, they always answered my questions on time and were always willing to help! It seemed like a perfect rest to me.
