The Chalfonte Hotel is such a cool place! If you’re intrigued with history and character, this is an experience for you. Only a 5 min walk from the beach and lots of great restaurants and things to do in the area. This was my first time in Cape May, it will certainly not be my last.

It is always a pleasure to stay in the beautiful Chalfonte Hotel! Charming historic Victorian surroundings and a beautiful relaxing veranda three blocks from Cape May's beaches. The front desk is always helpful and friendly, and the King Edward bar is always full of interesting conversations and delicious drinks. We have been coming to Cape May for 10 years and have stayed in the Chalfonte for three, I don't see myself staying anywhere else!

Good location and we'll maintained property

As young professionals, we barely have the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company. This was perfect for us!

Great spot! loved the communal feel and accessibility to the beach. Room was tidy and exactly what I needed. Great experience all around!

Will is an amazing amazing room. It is so stylish and the location is just awesome. You will feel right at home. Just be aware that there are pretty steep stairs (so either pack light or hopefully you life weights!). The view is also of a balcony of the building nextdoor. This didn’t really bother me too much honestly—curtains! The space itself has such high ceilings and is quite bright! And wonderful!

We really enjoyed our time at Hillary and Jeff’s place! Everything was as described. Simple, clean room in a quaint, authentic old-style OCNJ inn. Great water pressure in shower. Back deck was nice, didn’t try the front porch. Convenient location near boardwalk and downtown, but don’t expect views. Mostly quiet with window open (after Labor Day). Excellent weather definitely contributed to the success of our little getaway. Thanks for the free bottled water downstairs.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel and restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Dawn was so helpful at check-in, and Sydney provided excellent service at dinner. Our room was spotless and had a breathtaking view of the water. The attention to detail was clear in both the hotel and restaurant. Dinner was a highlight—every dish was delicious, from the garlic-seared salmon to the arugula salad with shaved parmesan and roasted chickpeas. We only wish we could have tried everything on the menu! The blueberry lemon cake with vanilla crème was the perfect finish. A special thank you to Syboll, who personally checked in on us during dinner. The personal touches made our stay truly memorable. Highly recommend this hotel and restaurant for anyone seeking comfort, luxury, and outstanding hospitality.
