Perfect place to stay! We are really appreciated the quiet place. Perfect location outside the crowd with really good coffee! It’s clean and enough stuff to make you own food.

The home was clean and very inviting. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed. The hosts were welcoming and available to answer questions but not intrusive. We didn't spend much time in the house except eating and sleeping - but it was nice to have a beautiful home away from home. Very lovely stay. Jack and Jackie, Lee and Christi

Our mountainside rainforest home was the highlight of our vacation. The view was amazing and we enjoyed breakfast on the deck every morning while spotting wildlife. There is every kind of fruit you can imagine growing around the home. It truly felt like paradise. Priscilla was very accommodating and responsive with any questions we had. If you value serenity, natural beauty, and privacy, this property is a real treat. Also, no bugs!

This was our second stay here. We stayed four years ago when we got married on the Big Island and came back again for our anniversary. We love this place! It is so comfortable, beautiful, and relaxing. Hopefully we’ll be back again someday.

We will rent this home again if we are back to the Big Island! We really enjoyed the different spaces. The interior was open concept and a great gathering space. The lanai porch was peaceful and very pleasant mornings and evenings. The outdoor shower and hot tub was a great space for small groups to gather.

We had a wonderful four days at Jill's Mermaid Studio. Jill was out of town but Jason and Brian helped us with our every need. We enjoyed her friendly cats and chickens that greeted us in the yard. The outside shower is really cool! We walked the path to watch the sunset each evening. Manini Beach just a couple minutes walk around the corner is maintained by local conservation group so is super clean, and has an easy spot to get in the water to snorkel. We rented a kayak from Ehu and Kai ($80 for a double ocean kayak for 5 hours) to paddle over and snorkel at the Captain Cook Monument. If you want to do this it is very easy to sign up and pay right on their website and meet them at the landing just a block from Jill's place (other direction from beach). They provide a dry bag and life vests. Rent snorkel gear from them or bring your own. You can't land the kayak at the monument so you just pull it around behind you with a rope while you snorkel which was no big deal.

What a fantastic place! Although we managed to miss Kīlauea, we had such a lovely time here and would definitely return! Location was so close to VNP we practically had the park to ourselves for most of the morning. Although we’d brought bug spray and were prepared for volcanic emissions, we noticed both ponchos and extra bug spray already stocked, along with other thoughtful touches like signs everywhere instructing you on hot tub, ice maker, shower, etc. Big award to this place for the most comfortable bed I’ve EVER had in an Air B&B. So easy to sleep with the coqui frogs lullaby each night. We had a bit of trouble getting the firepit to light (likely just moisture—it is the rain forest after all) and they were immediately responsive to my questions about it, and to issues with the WiFi— they rebooted the router and even gave us passwords for their home network, but we were still unable to use the tv as programs just froze, but we were still able to get phone signals, so NBD for us.

Have stayed here several times in different units. It works well for us. If you find older reviews complaining about the water pump being loud its no longer an issue. It was updated recently.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful village resort with many wonderful amenities. It was nice we could store luggage at the front desk on our last day since we had an evening flight, go to the beach, and then use the showers at the fitness center before heading to the airport. Other favorite amenities were having our own washer and dryer, and having a full kitchen. Would definitely stay here again!

Die Unterkunft war genau wie beschrieben und sehr sauber. Rhonda war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie hat bei Fragen sehr schnell reagiert. Kaffee und gefiltertes Wasser wurden von Rhonda zur Verfügung gestellt. Außerdem war es eines der wenigen Airbnbs, bei denen genügend Handtücher vorhanden waren. Ich empfehle die Unterkunft von Rhonda weiter

Spacious and well stocked Airbnb. Really nice touches with a few snacks and drinks provided and plenty of towels and kitchen amenities. The place is a bit dated but clean and the main bed was very comfortable. The pullout sofa in the living room is extremely uncomfortable if you’re planning to have anyone sleep there. I didn’t reach out to the host about it so maybe they could have provided a foam topper or something else for it. If you’re looking to have anyone sleep adults sleep out there I would check with the host to see if they can provide something to make it more comfortable since it was harder than a futon to sleep on. Overall good value for the price and convenient location.

Everything works, kitchen facilities good, it’s little over an hour to the Volcano National Park, you get a little concerned driving in because of the number of abandoned cars in the neighborhood, but the actual location is good. Well worth the price and we enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing stay! The apartment was so spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean. We loved watching the horses from the lanai and having Buddy the dog greet us everyday when we arrived back. We felt like we had the best spot on the island to watch the sunset. The sounds of the coqui frogs at sunset was absolutely amazing and so relaxing to fall asleep to. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped for self catering and it was really helpful having some things in the cupboards like spices, oil, syrup, etc. We were so sorry when it was time for us to leave!

Mary was a quick to respond and very helpful! Her place was in a good location and had lots of amenities! We would definitely come back!

Great place to stay with kids! The one bedroom unit was very spacious. It was tidy, free of clutter, and felt safe. Kitchen came equipped with all the things we needed to cook meals for ourselves. Appreciated the packets of coffee and cleaning supplies!

Loved staying here. We wanted exactly what we got. Private, green, cozy, adventurous. Loved it. A great get-way for people who like to explore and be just a bit crunchy.

Just an amazing place if you are looking to be a bit away from it all. Gorgeous property, gorgeous views, wonderful animals all around and so peaceful. Everyone has different needs and desires for places to stay. If you want to be off grid, have space and skies to yourself, get away from 100 screaming children at the pool of a beachside resort I highly recommend this place. I can definitely see how the drive to the property could be “extra fun” if the streams are flowing a lot, however they were not at all when we were there and going slow and steady we made it just fine in a 2wd SUV. If you have basic skills in off road driving and at least a bit of ground clearance you are most likely golden. But if the streams is flowing be cautious and make good decisions.

This is a lovely place to stay with lots of amenities available while feeling like you’re in the middle of the Hawaiian jungle.

Unique property you feel comfortable but in the jungle at the same time. The Jeep 4WD is a must for the road, but it will be useful around the island to go beyond the normal tourist places. Forget holiday resorts and cities, this is real escape holiday destination. Great place, great value thanks for letting us stay in your place. :-)

Great experience and very friendly host and neighbors. This bamboo hut is welcome to everyone who wants a retreat or living far away from the network. There is even a sanctuary room for meditation. However, when i lived there, there was a hurricane. So it's kind of scary to hear the strong wind blowing the jungle and trees/leaves hitting the rooftop.

I am more than happy about my stay here in mangoland. Laura is extremely friendly and has a wonderful little paradise in mangoland that she shared with us. I grew up on a ranch off grid, so this was very perfect for me and being IN THE JUNGLE was unreal. As a chef, the kitchen had all of the basics that I needed to cook home cooked meals every morning and night. The cabin was clean and the mattress was the comfiest mattress I have ever slept on. The outdoor shower was so relaxing and the water temp was perfect every time. Waking up and falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle was truly unreal. Staying here really made me realize what my life would look like living off grid on the big island, and I loved every second of it. My brain feels rewired after my stay here.

I had an amazing stay at Rachel’s cottage. It was perfect for my needs of working remote early in the AM (solid internet) and enjoying the serene surroundings in the afternoon/evening. The lava field/ocean cliffs right behind the place are super special and I found myself wandering there more than expected, even at night for incredible stargazing. Rachel is a super kind host, very communicative and you can tell she’s a good person. Would stay here again in a heartbeat
