We spoke to Janice a few times whilst we were at the cottage. Janice was lovely, extra friendly and very accommodating. We’ve visited previously and will be back very soon.

Location instructions were clear and easy to find, the property was clean, warm and well looked after. Parking right outside the front and just up the hill out of the village.

We were all very impressed by the house and facilities. My grandson loved the massive tv! I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone. It was perfect for us. It felt luxurious but also felt homely.

Lovely spacious period property which is in a great location. Close to train station and Lancaster center. Situated on a quiet street with parking and parking permit supplied by host. Contact with the host was faultless throughout our stay. I would definitely return if in the area again.

Spent 3 days at the cottage. Perfect for the 2 of us. Really clear instructions provided beforehand on how to find the cottage as it is tucked away. The cottage was lovely, peaceful, and full of character, and the beds really comfortable. It's location is superb and central. Six pub/restaurants within a 5 minute walk, and the start of the Cumbria Way walk is around the corner. The WiFi is strong, (as I needed it for work). Would definitely stay again.

Perfect in all aspects... communication... fantastic, especially when we arrived in sub zero temperatures. house... idyllic, clean and so quiet facilities... I own a holiday let and thought I had peaked by supplying everything, including a pickled onion fork (ok you have to be of a certain age). I realise I need to up my game further now as Jackie has raised the bar so much higher.

Lovely lodge with great facilities. Responsive hosts. The drive is tight as noted before but we managed to fit an X5 down it and have space to turn around and park. The lodge is clean & tidy, plenty of ‘just eat’ takeaways if you’re not looking to cook. Everything was clean, lovely welcome hamper, towels provided. Hot tub maintained to a high clean standard. We used it as a child free night & it was perfect. The only things I’d note are- it’s very light in a morning as someone who is used to blackout curtains and secondly I did find the road noisy in a morning but I also live extremely rural so it is bound to sound noisy to me. Didn’t put me off and I would book again for the facilities and cleanliness. Thank you :)

Stayed before and as before fantastic little place, went over for a china crisis gig at pub next door perfect location and perfect pub/gig venue, lovely host had the pleasure of meeting Julie and Peter fab couple will definitely be back so as.

We felt right at home. We were able to walk to a recommended restaurant one night & cook a meal the next night. For exercise we could walk along the canal

Absolutely loved our stay in The Architects Loft! Everything was so well thought out, great design. Fantastic area, helpful hosts and the room was immaculate. 10/10!

Simon's place was clean and tidy with a cosy, homey feel! We had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Even in the cold weather, the place was warm enough on mornings and evenings. The location is fantastic, only 5 min walk to the main street and so close many attractions. We couldn't get a parking space on the street, but as Simon mentioned the surrounding streets are also available. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a cosy getaway in the lakes.

Me and my partner had an amazing stay here. The location was brilliant, so many lovely restaurants and pubs within minutes of walking, lots of good walks from Ambleside aswell so we didn't have to drive to starting points for walks unless exploring another area. The place was very clean, had all the basics you need. Host was very helpful and good communication throughout our stay. The apartment is in the basement part of the building, don't get much natural light in the living area or bedroom but this wasn't a problem for us as we were out most of the day - this then felt very cosy in the evenings when we stayed in. Good smart TV and very comfy sofa, ideal after a long day walking! fire place is a nightmare touch too:) Would definitely go back if visiting the lake district again!

Ideal location for visiting family.Nice walks along the canal either way to nearby towns with plenty of facilities. Comfortable accommodation with welcoming hosts.

Very clean, beautiful place to stay, would stay here again in future for sure 100% recommend for anyone else looking to stay here. Place is close to north pier and very quiet even at weekends its not very noisy

Would highly recommend this stay. Check in was easy and the home is beautiful. For a 1 bedroom villa the space you have is vast with a homely living area and fantastic kitchen space and amenities. The bedroom is wonderful combining a country house with a highly modern bath and shower. Hot tub with a TV is fantastic. Walking into Bowness-on-Windermere is only 10 minutes too. Staff were around on a couple of occasions and were always chatty, welcoming and accommodating. We will be staying again. Thank you so much.

If you want a relaxing lake house with a view I couldn't think of anywhere better, myself and 5 friends had the most relaxing time. The view is stunning, the hot tub is great and the amenities in the house all work well, very modern but don't take away from rustic nature of the place. Communication with the hosts was really good from Paul and Victoria and the brochure they sent out before hand answered every question before I could even ask, highly recommend if you need a break.

A wonderful half term long weekend with our teenagers. Super quiet location, but close enough to Lancaster to make a dash into the city easy. Smashing property with jus the right mixture of character and modernity. Will be back.

We really enjoyed staying at far Nook, ten minute walk to centre of Ambleside. Lovely accommodation, clean and spacious. Good quality, high standards. Upstairs double bed in front of house a bit too hard otherwise rest of beds comfortable. Good showers and bathrooms. Kitchen great social area, kitchen equipment good. Lovely garden area, although we didn’t use it because we explored the fells everyday. My parents loved sitting in the sun room at the front of the house while we were out walking. Great bedroom for them downstairs. My husband used the office space to work in a lot, which was great for him as this isn’t often found in accommodation. Wi-Fi good Really nice lounge area comfortable sofas and chairs and wood burner. Very homely. (Not over keen on furniture in TV room to big, uncomfortable and dowdy, didn’t use this room.) I’d certainly recommend this house. We had a wonderful holiday here and we would love to return and stay at Far Nook again. Thank you!

We had a great stay. The house was in a beautiful location, right on the estuary. Plenty of beach for walking. Beds were comfy and ample linen and towels were provided plus a great welcome hamper. The games room provided hours of entertainment and the hot tub was lovely for relaxing in after a busy day. The nearby rock park/quarry was a really interesting day out. We also enjoyed a meal out at the King William IV in Kirksanton. Jenny was a great host and was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for my mum’s 50th and absolutely loved it. My mum said she had the best birthday in here life, which is a testament to the beauty of this place. Highly recommend staying here and can assure you that you will not be dissapointed! Thank you 😊

Jerry was super responsive and responded within minutes whenever we needed something, which was really appreciated (even around midnight 😅). The house is beautiful, very well furnished. Hot tub was a favourite and the river is incredibly scenic.
