A stay at Hearthstanes is absolute magic. Beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet, lush greenery, animals and a waterfall? Yes! From start to finish our communication with Ralph and Maura was easy. Ralph kept in touch with us throughout our stay, offering us a tour of his farm and then after our talks on our ride suggested activities we might enjoy based on our interests. The facilities were impeccable and super comfortable. We appreciate their patience as we navigated our first trip to Scotland. We would HIGHLY recommend Hearthstanes and the borders of Scotland to anyone wishing for a magical, quiet time in Scotland.

Absolutely fantastic stay in a beautiful home. Our family of five had plenty of space to spread out and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the wonderful village of Strathaven, and the great home. We very much appreciated the robes and slippers, which added to the coziness and comfort of the home. Naomi's suggestions for a local coffee shop and the best place to catch the train for Edinburgh were incredibly helpful. Our kids loved seeing the animals nearby (and especially enjoyed a visit from David the goat who Naomi brought down for us to pet). The house had everything we needed and was close to restaurants and supermarkets in the nearby village. It was a wonderful place to come back to after a day exploring all around Scotland. We highly recommend!

Geraldine’s place is absolutely amazing, the lodge is spacious for large groups. The views and surroundings are what made this place outstanding. We had a lovely time. Thank you G for hosting us

Extremely good communication before. Room lovely and warm on arrival. Spent a while trying to work out how to use the table light until I realised it was a ‘touch’ light 🤦🏼‍♀️. Very peaceful surroundings In the area of lesmahagow, there are only carry out places for dinner except for a ‘truck stop’ They offered a breakfast, sweet fruit porridge, potato dahl, rice, poori, salad, and some other things. Please note - they are vegetarian and vegan, no alcohol and no smoking. Please respect this. Great stay - would recommend.

I can’t say enough about Beechwood House and Nick as a host. What a property - a real gem, beautifully maintained to modern spec. Cosy, very clean with everything you could need. The garden was stunning, we had a sunny weekend to enjoy it. Walkable to Moffat with children which was important, and plenty to do. We’ll Be back for sure. Nick was a very responsive host who left us to it but was full of intel and available if we needed anything. A fantastic experience from start to finish!

This is a truly magical place to spend quality time with family and friends. It has an abundance of character and everything you need to feel right at home, plus the hot tub was an added bonus everyone loved. Jennifer and Andrew instantly made us feel so welcome and were always responsive, even on Christmas Day. Can’t thank you enough for helping to make our family Christmas break so special and look forward to staying again!

This place is a hidden gem. Rosie and Jim are excellent hosts, they made our stay incredible and we had the most wonderful new year. The house is better than in pictures, the surrounding fields and beautiful landscapes are truly incredible. We had a great stay and would love to come back!

great space for eight adults, very comfortable and warm, nice surroundings and very peaceful location

Such a beautiful and homely place with incredible views. Very well put together without loosing the charm of the property. Beds very comfortable, good strong showers, everything we needed for a lovely couple of nights away. Fantastic selection of books to peruse in the library, plenty games to choose from and just a short drive to biggar for restaurants, pubs, lovely shops. Quite sad to leave in fact, would love to return for a longer stay

A great weekend break for me and my boys. All be it very last minute but Christina was just great and very quick with responses to messages. Would love to stay again sometime as my boys really enjoyed the cottage and surrounding countryside.
