The Shelter is clearly a little gem, it feels cozy as soon as you step in and you will find everything you need. It was perfect for us after climbing the Mt Taranaki. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area!

We really enjoyed our stay. The mezzanine net, bean bags, and playstation with Crash Team Racing is something we didn't realise we needed, and the book corner has an excellent selection of books. Downstairs, the massive window overlooking the beach is like an oasis. The shower was excellent and the whole place is very comfortable and homely. We loved the attention to detail. The bed was welcomely comfortable albeit quite creaky. The beach is a gorgeous boulder beach which is nice to stand and look at. The description for the Surf Nest is on point except the WiFi is slow (~3Mbps) and while Netflix etc is installed, guests must use their own accounts. Overall Maria and Matt's place was great and we'd be happy to come again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay!! Absolutely stunning scenery, peaceful and private home, with all the amenities to switch off and relax and enjoy a beach holiday. Home is clean, tidy and very well equipped, we would highly recommend. Thanks Brian and Kaye for a great stay.

The listing was better in person that the description you read online. The grounds were beautifully landscaped with incredible views. The sliders in the main and bedroom to the porch were great at night. The stars were fabulous. The items in the fridge for breakfast were a welcomed surprise (as was the bottle of wine and chocolate). We would absolutely stay here again next time we’re in the area. A+

A magical place, beautiful spot perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surrounding nature, and wonderful views of the mountain. Kind hosts and great communication. The ecoescape is just as described. We had a great time, thank you!

This retro space was unique and exciting we loved it ! A record player , shop front , great garden , fish and chips right there for dinner and so easy to check in 🌸🌸💐

Excellent stay for families with small children. We loved checking on the chickens and the cattle. Surprisingly near the village. Lovely views of the volcano. The listing mentioned that the entryway was under some renovations, which concerned me that there may be construction materials lying about, but this was not the case. Perhaps some updating is planned, although the abundance of toys and costumes in a not-too-precious front porch area was about as good as it gets for parents of a toddler. Nicci quietly went about making chocolates in the adjacent shop, and we basically never noticed.

Judith was there to meet us when we arrived at her cute little "cottage". She was friendly and welcoming and had a plate of cheese muffins prepared for us. We really enjoyed our stay there; it was very clean and uncluttered with lovely country views. The weather was pretty wet and windy for our stay but we were so comfortable in the cottage. We even managed to see Mt Taranaki from the yard a few times when the cloud lifted. There are some wonderfully scenic hikes in the area and we didn't let the weather keep us inside for too long. We would book to stay again.
