I was on the hunt for a cabin in the woods and finding Williams place was a dream. It’s 15 minutes from Torrington but you feel like you’re more isolated. It was perfect for my husband’s birthday getaway. William is friendly, helpful and responds quickly. He even gave us a late check out time. The house has amazing antiques and interior. I’m sure he sourced from several of the local antique and flea markets in the area.(Don’t forget to hit an ATM prior to going antiquing) He has a book in the cabin with a ton of local recommendations. We mostly just kicked back and relaxed at the cabin. Soaking up the sun in the hot tub outside next to a lovely bustling river/creek in the back yard. It was a bonus given I have a bad back and it was a little tough adjusting to not sleeping in my own bed. We have already decided to book this place for our anniversary. Thank you again for hosting us and we can’t wait to come again!

Definitely an amazing place, beautiful! But secluded make sure to stock up on groceries and essentials before arriving nearest market is about 16 minutes away. Overall great stay!

This place is a hidden gem in a great location, especially if you live ski or other winter sports (perfectly located close to several mountains). Regarding the property, it was pristine clean, well arranged and had everything we needed (or even more). The rooms were comfortable and the hot tub was a great touch. I would completely recommend this place to anyone visiting west mass, will not disappoint.

Such a lovely place. A simple but beautifully appointed cabin surrounded by truly stunning nature - River, woods, large rocks, nearby gorgeous hikes. The beds were so cozy - we had the best sleep there! And the fireplace was so lovely, especially on cold and rainy nights. It was a perfect place to greet the New Year. We loved our stay at David and Nicki’s cabin! It was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. The log cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed from kitchen supplies to games. David and Nicki were so friendly and responsive to our questions - we highly recommend staying here!

I didnt want to leave this little cabin in the woods. It felt rustic but had all the modern amenities you would expect in a home. From the rocking chairs on the porch to the comfy beds, there is nothing I could complain about, even if I tried. Marilyn gave excellent suggestions of places to eat and local current events. We left with fall apples, bellies full of clam chowder, and gigantic smiles!!! We have already started planning our return!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and beautiful cabin! It was exactly the quiet, relaxing, and secluded getaway we were looking for. We were welcomed with a beautiful basket full of goodies. The bed was comfortable, and the sauna and large jacuzzi tub were perfect for unwinding. The kitchen was well-equipped, and having both a crock pot and air fryer made meal prep super convenient. We really enjoyed the cozy wood-burning fireplace. Communication with Elle was excellent—she was very responsive and helpful throughout. Although it rained during our visit and we didn’t get to use the outdoor spaces much, there are some lovely spots for enjoying a fire or just relaxing outside.Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking to recharge in a peaceful retreat!

Fell in love with this place! Honestly wish we could've stayed longer. Amanda was such a great host - super nice and incredibly accommodating when I booked last minute. My biggest disappointment? Not having time to soak in that amazing tub! Definitely won't make that mistake next time. I am sure this spot is serene any time of year, but I bet it's absolutely stunning in the summer. Highly recommend.

Really perfect little place to stay with everything we needed. Bonus that it’s a flat driveway right on the road, if your car can’t handle the snow that well.

Amazing place. So serene and comfortable to be at. Loved every minute of it. Place had everything we could need but was minimalist enough where we could disconnect and really embrace the outdoors and cabin vibe. The quiet and tranquility helped tale us away from the daily hum and fully embrace nature. Met a few people in the surrounding area and they were all so kind and lovely. The view of the lake never got old and its placid reflective waters really brought one at ease. Would stay here again for sure.

We came to Otis with our 3 young children with the plan for them to learn to ski at the nearby ski school/mountain. We had a wonderful time and John and Loren’s house was perfect for us. They are lovely, accessible and accommodating hosts! We had the good luck of a snowy weekend and the cabin and property were just gorgeous. The cabin is simple, but very comfortable and we enjoyed how cozy it felt. Our kids slept well and and had so much fun, so did we!

Hidden gem. We first went here four years ago to escape the pandemic in Boston. All these years later I’m glad to see the place essentially unchanged (that’s a good thing!). Super cozy get away from the noise of every day life. Love the fireplace, record collection and of course the stream that runs right outside.

What a fun and lovely place with a pleasant and thoughtful host. Peaceful and relaxing at night and lots to do during the day. Comfy beds, nice clean linens and great kitchen supplies and outdoor grill and fire pits. If you just want to chill or are into outdoor recreation its a winner. So, much to do. Tons of biking trails, great lakes for picnicking swimming, fishing, boating, jet ski. Also, rock climbing, and aerial parks are all close by, like 10-15 minutes away. A few places rent bikes too. Fresh produce and farms are near by as well. Big Y and Walmart are about 20 minutes away for whatever else you need. The cabin is vey quant. It seemed a little smaller than pictured at first but, is very well thought out and makes great use of space. Our family had 10 in all - a 6, a 7, two 13 year olds and 6 adults and we were all very comfortable. We had a blast. Highly recommend.

This camp and cabin was comfortable and homey. We felt at home from the peace to the decor, the books and the vibe. would and will stay again

Gayle was communicative and explicitly clear in her description of The Pondhouse and amenities. Her directions also were very clear. She gets 5 stars for managing expectations. As for The Pondhouse, Gayle describes is as "magical," and here again, she is spot on. It is a beautiful location and an enchanting hideaway. Everything from the furniture, bedding, decor, outdoor shower, etc. is well appointed. I noticed and loved the small details — from the practical perfectly placed hooks to the candleholders and tea lights that were provided and helped enhance the magical experience — that went into creating this little oasis nestled into the woods. Taking a wam shower outdoors in nature was good for the soul. My husband and I went on this much-needed getaway, and it did not disappoint. It rained our first day there, and it was cold but the blankets were more than adequate. For me, it was a chance to reflect and recharge after the recent loss of my mother. We would definitely return.

This little lakeside cabin was a perfect retreat. it's exactly as described and pictured. Bed was comfortable. Heat worked well. Kitchen was well equipped. attractive art and furnishings. It was obvious from the interaction that Deborah wanted us to be comfortable and happy there.

What an idyllic cabin on the lake. Beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. Lots of activities right at hand, from games indoors to the pickleball court nearby. We had a wonderful experience.

Richard’s place was great for our weekend getaway. Plenty of space for all of us and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend!

What a beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. We unfortunately got caught in a winter storm during our stay. Christina went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of during the inclement weather. We will definitely stay here again!
