A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Paul & Debbie are amazing hosts who are willing to help with anything we asked. Although just a short drive from Newcastle, we felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful countryside. The cottage is gorgeous and extremely comfortable with everything you need including the most amazing private hottub. But the most amazing experience is with the alpacas who you can see from the cottage, have the opportunity to feed them and even take them for a walk which was just incredible. We were sorry to have to leave but will most definitely be returning! Thank you Paul & Debbie 😀

We had a brilliant stay at Hannah’s place, a comfortable, clean, well-equipped cottage within a (steep!) 10 minute walk of Richmond’s town centre. Despite the weather we managed one night of hot tub stargazing, which was a real treat. We managed to find everything we needed, and Hannah was a really responsive host, being proactive with welcome instructions, and quick to message back. Thanks for a great stay!

Just had a fantastic stay at Ivy cottage. Jane was a brilliant host with plenty of info on arrival. The cottage is so comfy and cosy. Added bonus having the games room, will 100% be back. Thanks Jane.

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

After looking at the photos, we arrived full of excitement and we weren't disappointed. The place is stunning, and has plenty of amenities to keep a family or group of friends busy, even on days where the weather might not be great. The house is well equipped with everything you might need and has a nice home away from home feel. Mark answered our questions almost immediately, and was really friendly and helpful. Outside kitchen area, including pool / table tennis table and dart board were amazing and on one side of the accommodation. They were outside, but also had a roof to protect from the rain. On the orher side were the sauna and hot tub, which again had a roof covering so it can be used at any time. The bedrooms were very comfortable. One large room and one twin room on the ground floor along with a bathroom and the main living/dining area. Another large bedroom with a further bathroom upstairs. The main kitchen was downstairs via a spiral staircase. We loved it. 5 adults +dog

The cottage has a really homely feel to it and we loved the open plan nature of the living space, as it allowed us all to be together whilst we relaxed and prepared meals. The cottage has everything you need and we particularly enjoyed using the Rayburn range cooker (what a treat) and the comfy sofas. The linen was pristine and clean and everywhere was spotless. The cottage is warm and welcoming and the surroundings are peaceful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a lovely, peaceful few days in Debbie’s cottage; very comfortable and cosy with fabulous views of the countryside. We appreciated the welcoming gifts of wine and chutney ( enjoyed with some local cheese!). Would definitely recommend the accommodation and location.

Great hosts, always contactable, really nice place, great views and tge beds are so comfy. Cosy house. Shops are handy and loads to do not too far away.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.

A gorgeous house in beautiful gardens and surroundings. More than big enough for 8 of us and our dog with plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. Vanessa was the perfect host, very friendly, responsive and helpful! We’d love to stay again!

Lovely, clean, cottage in an ideal location. Did have plans to light the log burner but no need, the cottage was very cosy. The cottage is very well equipped, has everything you might need, beds are very comfortable and the enclosed garden is perfect for dogs. The cottage is great for walks and straight from the door too! Particularly enjoyed doing a circular loop, heading on to The Cleveland Way, then on to Whorlton and back to Swainby. Thoroughly recommend watching the sunset from Whorlton Castle! Swainby has two pubs and two cafes - perfect! It was a perfect mini break for two long time friends who wouldn't hesitate in coming back! 😊

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

We needed a place to stay while our bathroom was being remodelled, and it needed to be close to home so we could check on the progress of the work. Violet Cottage fitted our needs perfectly. It was clean, comfortable, well stocked with essentials (the chocolate biscuits were a bonus) and was simply everything we’ve come to expect from an Airbnb Superhost. Grant was very responsive when we had questions and generally made sure our stay was entirely to our satisfaction. For out of town visitors, this place is close to the city centre, close to the river and close to a lot of facilities, both for basic needs and entertainment. We highly recommend Violet Cottage.

This place suited us perfectly; we enjoyed some lovely walks local to the property and still had easy and quick access to Durham and Newcastle. It was very peaceful and quiet, with plenty of space inside. Would definitely book again.

We had a lovely stay, perfect for dog walking and the surroundings are just perfect. The accommodation was great, everything we needed :). Our dogs loved it also. Great farm shop down the road. Really easy to find and Joanna was great. Highly recommend.

Perfect house and location. Very comfortable extremely well equipped. We know the area well as my late husband’s family are from Hexham. However it is the first time we have been away for Christmas since he died and it was perfect so peaceful. Seeing a light pollution free sky and all the twinkling stars was a delight. Very spacious house perfect for what we needed. Very comfy beds! Thank you to Georgina and her family.

Lovely stay at the mouse house! Cosy, warm and clean. Super comfy beds and modern bathroom. Everything we needed for one night stay! Fiona even provided a travel cot for our little one. Communication was very quick and she even recommended where we go for dinner.

We absolutely loved staying at Chris's place. It is a perfect size for us and beautifully decorated and very tasteful! It felt like home from home which was great as we spent Christmas there. The bed was very comfy too. We immediately booked for the following year. Chris was easy to get hold of. The area is great for dog walking. A perfect stay.

First time stay and will return for summer and autumn to enjoy different seasons at this amazing cottage. Wow stunning views giving endless joy and peace to unwind. Previous reviews were so helpful to choose the place and am so glad we did, all spot on about how amazing the views, location, facilities were so thanks for those. Best place out of all we have been so far over the years. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and 100% recommend. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking oven/hob dinners. Patrick, Kirsty and Rosie - you are a wonderful host and so friendly, thank you a lot.
