This place is actually beautiful really a home from home place. We stayed at Birch lodge which was so warm and welcoming. Your surrounded by the sounds of nature day and night, which is very peaceful and serene. The hot tub is an added touch, where you can gaze at the stars whilst the bubbles surround you. I really valued the privacy of each lodge, which backs onto a nice green area at the back. Ian was most accmodating, awnsering any questions we had, but they made sure they answered most questions through the instructions that was left for us. Thoughtful. Sad to be leaving but Upthorpe Lodges will deffo see us again, when we want to escape the hustle and bustle of London, and connect with nature.

Vikki-Jo was attentively welcoming with the most efficient responsiveness we've experienced on Airbnb. The cabin was roomy, rustic and perfect for us. The hot tub toasty warm and spotless. We had a little spider friend in the shower room who popped his head out to say hi occasionally, but we liked them. It was totally private away from the main property and everything was as described. The whole stay was a perfect experience from the moment we booked right up to the moment we left. This is how Airbnb should be done. A true 5 star experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think it was competitively priced for a stay with a hot tub which we enjoyed after walking around Colchester Zoo all day. Thank you Vikki-Jo for our wonderful stay 💐

Absolutely beautiful location, our cabin "primrose" was gorgeous, has everything you need. Hot tub super relaxing. Cannot recommend highly enough. Brekkie at the cafe was banging too!

We had a lovely time. The place was immaculately clean and perfect size for 4 people. The place is only around 25 minutes drive to central Cambridge and also away from city crowd. It’s in a peaceful and quiet surroundings. Hot tub is an extra charm of this glamping pod. The only issue is that there’s no microwave in the kitchen. Apart from this, I would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely stunning lodge, was exactly what we wanted. Very spacious and was bigger than expected. The hot tub added a little extra something. Everything you would need for a weekend stay. Fantastic surroundings, including the friendly horses that would come to their gate for a stroke. Beautiful location with a country park not far for a great walk. Overall a brilliant stay and would highly recommend!

Me and my partner haven’t a single bad thing to say , it was such a lovely peaceful get away with such a lovely little town like village within the area we stayed with a lovely cafe , lots of shops like antiques and homemade goods , mini golf and loads more the only downside was that I didn’t book for longer , the host was amazing I had to message as the WiFi went down at one point but this was because of no fault of the host and she messaged back within 30 minutes and instantly got straight on the case the problem was solved not long after , me and my girlfriend will 100% be back again soon , lovely stay can’t recommend enough .

We stayed at this beautiful lodge for a girls’ weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday, and it was absolutely stunning. The decor was stylish and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the peaceful location made it the perfect place to unwind. We all had an amazing time, and while there was no WiFi, it actually encouraged us to have more conversations and truly enjoy each other’s company—making the experience even more special. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we’d definitely recommend it!

We had a lovely, peaceful stay here with our family. It was cosy, warm and inviting. It was well equipped and everything we needed for our stay. Would love to come back in summer and make the most of the garden/BBQ area too. 😎☀️

My husband and I came for a night away in Bradwell-on-sea with our 14 month old daughter, and had the most wonderful stay at Catherine’s cabin. The location was so beautiful and peaceful, right by the water, with stunning walks to the Marina and beach just nearby. Catherine was so helpful and welcoming from the offset, and couldn’t do enough to help us throughout our stay, which we were hugely grateful for, especially with a young baby! The cabin was so cosy, comfortable and clean; it was the perfect little countryside retreat for us. Catherine even left a slide and playhouse in the garden for our daughter to play on - which she loved! We hope to come back and stay again soon and would definitely recommend to our friends, or anyone else! Thank you so much Catherine.

We had a lovely stay. The cargo pod was just big enough for us and the facilities were great. The patio furniture could do with an update, but overall we are really happy

Nice little caravan, close to the sea and the entertainment facilities which is ideal.

We had an amazing Christmas at the lodge this year. It was so peaceful and it was lovely to be surrounded by the beautiful scenery. Georgie was a fantastic host and very responsive and friendly to anything we needed. We’d never been away for Christmas so we’re unsure of how it would feel, but it’s safe to say we’d love to make this a yearly thing! Thank you for an amazing time 😊

Fantastic stay, 5 stars! Oak Lodge was such amazing value for money for a family of 5 and the dog. It was incredibly spacious, immaculately clean and very well equipped. Loved that it had two bathrooms and even a utility room. So much to do on site for the kids and safe too. Easy to find and check in. Stephen was easily contactable, very responsive and super helpful. Highly recommend staying here and we are hoping to come back again next summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break here. It was just the restful and relaxing retreat we needed. Very comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location. We found some very pleasant walking routes from the accommodation. Wonderful to use the log burner and stay cosy in such cold weather. Our greyhound loved her stay too & The pool was fantastic!! Very happy, will visit again ☺️

Met our needs perfectly - easy access by both car and tube and good parking. Flexible sleeping arrangement. Peaceful location. Paul was super helpful. Would recommend.

Stayed with our two young children. A lovely little place with generous hosts who had stocked up on some goodies for our arrival. They live on the site further up the drive and were very responsive when I had a query about the cooker which turned out to be my ineptitude more than anything else. Really lovely setting, great for children (I’d recommend bringing bikes) and walking around. Our two appreciated the climbing frame on site. There’s no central heating but the electric radiators placed around made up for it. The TV also was kitted out with loads of functioning apps. I imagine it would be wonderful there in the summer.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was very clean, safe and lovely. Emily went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and the location made access to the sea very easy. Would highly recommend!!

We had a great time in this lodge. It was bigger than the photo's suggest. Situated off the main road in a very peaceful and tranquil spot. This was the perfect family getaway for the weekend.

The Hideaway was perfect for my needs. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, warm and cosy, despite the relentlessly heavy rain! Very safe and secure location. Check-in and communication was excellent. Anthony and Lynn were warm and welcoming hosts and the breakfast provisions were a lovely touch. As a regular visitor to the area, would not hesitate to book again. Thank you!

Scarlet’s caravan is pristine and comfortable plus the outside space is a real bonus. It’s a couple of minutes walk to the seashore which has great views over the estuary with lots of different birds at low tide including oystercatchers, curlews, turnstones and ringed plovers. You can catch the foot passenger ferry from the nearby country park to Brightlingsea which is a great day out. West Mersea is fantastic for seafood - try the Company Shed for sweet tasting oysters and fresh, fresh crab. Scarlet is an excellent host, she even replied to a text from me on her hen night. You can’t ask for more than that! A word of caution, we didn’t read through the full list of amenities so missed that towels are not provided! No criticism of Scarlet, and a lesson to me. All in all a great experience and we would definitely return

Just back from a lovely weekend at the cosy nest. What a beautiful place. The Geodome was a feature I never knew I needed. The perfect spot to watch the sunset while snuggled under blankets. The nest had everything I needed and more. The games were a hit with my son, as was the Dome. Would def recommend to friends.
