Michelle is an incredible host. From booking, me getting slightly lost and welcoming me to their home Michelle was fab! This is the first time I have ever stayed as a solo guest anywhere and any apprehension I had was immediately dispelled on meeting Michelle, her husband and their beautiful lab Lottie. The property was beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Surrounded by stunning countryside. The decor was stunning and eclectic… particularly a rather intriguing piece of artwork showcasing a giraffe. Amenities were plentiful and very welcomed. Including board games, fresh milk, coffee and a well appreciated selection of teas. Although I had brought food with me, a range of snacks and recommendations for takeaways were made available. I was very impressed with the kitchen appliances available if needed. Thank you for a lovely peaceful night and some much needed relaxing evening.

We stayed one night for a wedding at the same location. Accommodation was great, cosy and private. I can’t comment on any local places if interest but it’s on the edge of Sherwood Forest so I’m sure there’s loads to see and do if the length of your stay is longer than ours.

We had a great stay - the house is peaceful, quiet, clean, and especially cosy with the woodburner on! Richard and Jo were excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating, and offered great advice on places to visit nearby with our two small children. We all slept amazingly well (very unusual with a 1 and 3 year old); the beds were comfy and it was so quiet. The house is well set up for visiting with toddlers - there are toys, books, stair gates etc. and the large garden is great to let them run around in. We would absolutely return, especially in the summer to really make use of the beautiful garden.

James was a very good and responsive host. Communication, directions etc. were spot on! The house was great. There were 6 of us in total - all adults. We did have a problem with a blocked toilet but James had this fixed quickly. There are 3 toilets in total so not a big problem. One star lost on cleanliness rating. On arrival there were crumbs across the dining table and a tea cup stain which we wiped away. Also, could have done with a towel in the downstairs bathroom. We also only had 1 tea towel which was done very quickly. We borrowed from family. Also, a lack of extra pillows meant we had to borrow cushions from the sofas. All very minor problems. I still felt it was value for money and would certainly book again next time we visit family in Nottingham
