This was a perfect week long retreat for our summer vacation. We spent most of our time enjoying the kitchen, screened in porch, and the pool! Just a short trip to town, it’s easy to get groceries and the kitchen in well equipped for cooking! We were in the pool everyday and felt so relaxed and at ease in the beautiful home and peaceful scenery! Peter, who stopped by mid-week was lovely and helpful. Completely recommend for a week away!

This is a great place to relax! Extremely quiet, spectacular view and plenty of space for a family of 4 to 6 to spread out and chill. The private beach is a nice added touch and Baddeck is only a 2 minute drive, but I wouldn’t walk there, cars drive a little fast down that road and there’s no sidewalk. Tyler was a great host, explained everything perfectly, right down to recommending water shoes for the private beach ( which we had). There’s also a nice listing of local places and lots of brochures so you can find stuff to do. It was ~25 degrees when we stayed and it gets nice and cool at night so not having A/C isn’t a problem. There are so many windows that open in so many directions, you’ll catch a breeze.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to explore the Cape breton island. Sailor's rest was cozy and had all the amenities for our stay. Lorna, our host was always responsive and kind. There were a ton of local recommendations placed inside the property which actually helped us a lot.

It was my second time there. The place is perfect. Clean, modern, and cozy. Highly recommend it

The home was spotless and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The location was perfect for us. Keith and Donna went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and always provided quick responses. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Melissa's home. We arrived late and woke up to the breath-taking view. We took a walk down to the docks and it was a beautiful way to spend the morning. Everything was perfect at the house, with everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Love this little house! Very quiet neighborhood. Just a few things I want to mention. Some dishes were dirty up in the cupboard. Coffee maker was broken (top would not close properly) and was dirty with Coffee grinds. Love the big sink and a great kitchen stove big oven that cooked my pizza to perfection! Nice size fridge, but there was an out off date jug of milk in there. A dish drying cloth would have been great, but was lacking. Overall, a great place to stay for a short stay or an extended stay!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Big House. It is a great spot when you have a large group! The location is fantastic, within walking distance to everything and Willie is very accommodating and responsive.

Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.

Really nice home with a marvellous beach super close. The house is really clean and the host is really nice. We loved the fact that it was so close to the entrance of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at Rahim's place! He is incredibly kind and thoughtful, going above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. My son especially enjoyed playing with the collection of shells in the house, and Rahim was so generous in offering him a few to take home as a keepsake. The location is also fantastic—just one minute from the highway, making it super convenient to explore the area. Highly recommend staying here!

Kim’s place was great for our trip to Celtic Colours. Location was good as it had easy access to major roads but was not on one. Cabin was comfortable with lots of nice touches. Easy to make meals in the well equipped kitchen. Kim accommodated our fragrance free needs graciously. She was always responsive. We had a wonderful week and would definitely return!

Adorable house in seaside village. Nicely furnished, neat and tidy. Good linens and lots of towels, fully equipped kitchen and nice big bathtub. Two private bedrooms upstairs. The location was perfect for me and restaurants shopping and grocery stores are 10 minute drive away. Quiet for sleeping and views of ocean. Hosts are welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend and hope to return.
