Our stay at Saffron House was everything we hoped for and more. The room itself was beautifully decorated and the views across the ocean from the garden are unparalleled. The breakfast here was the best we had in our two weeks in Sri Lanka! There is plenty to do in the surrounding area - shops, beaches, restaurants, bars, yoga - and most things are walking distance. That being said, Saffron House is a tranquil and private escape from the hustle and bustle. A special thank you to Chris and the wonderful staff at Saffron House. She organised us a scooter, numerous taxis, and gave us recommendations on where to visit including a few temples. Chris also cooked us an authentic Sri Lankan lunch one afternoon and there was not a scrap left by the end. Delicious! We cant wait to come back and bring the whole family.

Der Aufenthalt bei Igor und Michele war einfach schön. Es ist ruhig gelegen, der Pool und die vielen Sitzgelegenheiten laden zum Entspannen ein. Es wurde gemeinsam gefrühstückt und die ganze Stimmung war super freundlich und familiär. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und empfehlen es zu 100% weiter.

This is a fantastic AirBnB house with a beautiful view of ocean, and with gardens, pool, and covered terrace. You are walking distance to two beaches and some good restaurants. The people that take care of the house, Nuska and Kumara, are really wonderful. They are very attentive, bring you fresh juices throughout day, and cook delicious meals. The breakfast is included but lunch and dinner can be served at cost (which is way cheaper than restaurants and at least as delicious). We spent a week here and that wasn’t enough…it really is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The place was very nice. Placed near to the Midigama Surf Spots and also near to Weligama town. We had a very cheap room with new quiet air condition, a very cozy bed and a clean beautiful bathroom. If you’re a surfer you can easily rent scooters from the host and all good Surf Spots are like a two minutes drive away. Without scooter the next beach is 8 minutes away, very beautiful called jungle beach. There are also some nice and cheap possibilities to eat around the place. What we also really liked was how the host and his family let us take part of their culture with showing us a lot of things like how they’re cooking, how their collecting coconuts from the palm trees and all kind of nice stuff. They even brought us homemade specialities for free every day. So friendly people. There was even a kitchen for the guests where you could cook everything you want and have tea and coffe for free. I’d really recommend this place to everybody.

Localisé à 2 mins à pied de la plage, et à 5 mins d'une rue charmante et vivante de nuit, cette famille est très accueillante et chaleureuse. Sera toujours là pour vous aider, et pour s'assurer que tout va bien. On a même reçu un geste de leur part à la fin de notre séjour. Je recommande vivement!

You will find a little whisper of magic in the middle of nowhere with this lovely house that Svava and her husband own ... each nook and cranny has a beautiful story to tell and if you happen to run into the hosts (as we fortunately happened to) they will tell you about the stories behind the elements of the house that they designed and built (So you can image the amount of love that has gone into this place)...Svava was super prompt and proactive with suggestions, tips and helped us out with our transportation as well. Please do not expect to find the luxuries & amenities of a chain hotel or resort - expect a lovely experience that lets you completely detach from your normal routine and be transported into their world & you will go back with your soul feeling like it just took a spa day :) ... it is a little cut off from the hustle and bustle of the Main Street and tourists - so you will have to use the tuk tuk to get anywhere. We wish we had more time to explore the areas around the place!

Das Hotel liegt an einem eher ruhigen Strand, an dem man sowohl baden als auch surfen kann. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer sauber, das Bett sehr gemütlich und der Blick vom Balkon richtig schön. Beim Frühstück hätten wir uns ein wenig mehr Abwechslung gewünscht.

We stayed in Shanil's place for 6 nights. We were greeted by Suranga and his team immediately after arriving we received a cool coconut drink and felt right at home. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Suranga and his team did an excellent job. Especially the food was fantastic, the chef did an excellent job. One of the best Srilanken food we had in our vacation in Sri Lanka. We had breakfast and dinner as well. The even provided our kids with western breakfast. We felt welcome from start to end and didn't want to leave. Hopefully we are back. The house with the 2 double room and the separate house with the family room is well set up and gives each guest his own privacy. The location is great with the beach and the ocean right in front of the house. With a 15min. Tuktuk ride you are both in Mirissa and Weligama. Thank you very much for having us.

We absolutely loved our stay and wish we could have stayed for longer. perfect location, close to two beaches, restaurants and bars. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was well appointed, thoughtful in terms of providing beach towels and bag etc and spotlessly clean. We absolutely loved lying in bed watching all of the birdlife and monkeys throughout the day. Highly recommend

I spent a week at Meraki and loved it! Every detail—like a flower on the toilet paper, comfy pool cushions, pristine garden, and fluffy towels—added a personal touch. As a small, family-run hotel, Meraki stands out from large chains with genuine care from the owners and staff. On my first solo trip as a woman, I felt completely safe and welcome. The hotel’s design perfectly suits my taste, and I only wished my stay was longer (special thanks to Iona for accommodating a special wish of me!). The pool area is relaxing, and the yoga sessions were very nice (also for a beginner)! With an ideal location near the sea and attractions, plus an excellent breakfast featuring fresh fruits + a la carte options, and fantastic coffee, Meraki truly impressed me. Huge thanks to the entire team! Every single team member was treating me with kindness and I really appreciate this a lot 💚 in my opinion this is the perfect place to be in Sri Lanka’s south coast!

What a beautiful location and the best place we staying during our 10 day Sri Lankan adventure. Onali and her father were so helpful, friendly and made us feel right at home. The property itself is carefully decorated, creating a relaxed and refined feel that we loved. Onali’s cooking made our stay, her breakfasts are delicious and dinner was a real trip highlight. The nearby beaches are picturesque and perfect for swimming. Would recommend and stay again in a heartbeat.

Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt und eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und der Poolbereich sehr schön. Unser Highlight war auf jeden Fall vom Pool die Affen beobachten zu können. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und das Frühstück sehr lecker. Bei der Unterkunft ist man auf jeden Fall auf Verkehrsmittel angewiesen, was für uns aber kein Problem war, da wir mit dem Tuktuk angereist sind. Nachteile waren für uns: - An beiden Abenden hatten wir leider Probleme mit dem WLAN - wer geräuschempfindlich ist, wird abends/früh morgens den Zug hören und auch die Tiere machen natürlich Geräusche 😄 - die Liegen am Pool könnten Auflagen gebrauchen.

We loved staying at Sõmar. Beautiful and spacious room and the bathroom with the outdoor shower was amazing. Everything was so clean and the garden and the pool was so well maintained and beautiful. The staff was super friendly and showed us the best hospitality you can have. And the owner responded super fast to all our questions before we arrived and meet us personally at our check in. And we loved all the useful information about everything we needed to know about our stay at Sõmar and Midigama and nearby places.

We had the best stay of our trip at Remote Nest Cabins! The place is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The accommodation is very new so everything was super clean and well thought out. The small pool and yoga shala overlooking a pond in the back are a highly appreciated bonus to the space. We stayed in one of the cabins so had our own little hut and space which was super nice. Also, there are only a few rooms on the property so it feels super secluded and quiet. The host and local owner Prabath were so nice and super helpful. The location is also great, as it’s just behind the main road so much more quiet but still walking distance to great cafes & surfspots. We can’t wait to come back to Sri Lanka so that we can stay here again! And if you book, make sure to have dinner at Machan Curry Pot, which is the restaurant attached and run by the same owner, it’s so cozy and amazing food!

Vi havde et dejligt ophold! Stedet var pænt og rent og personalet var meget behjælpelige og imødekommende og gjorde alt for at gøre vores ophold godt. Vi er under hele vores ophold kun blevet mødt af smil og venlighed. Området byder på mange smukke oplelevelser. Vi kan give vores bedste anbefalinger til Dilhara

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit hoher Decke und großen Fenstern und einen schönen Ausblick auf den Fluss. Das große Bett ist sehr bequem. Leider keine A/C, aber in der Nacht mit Deckenventilator gut erträglich. Keine Kochmöglichkeiten, dafür günstige Restaurants in Fußnähe. Die Familie ist sehr nett - und bei Buchungsänderung unkompliziert.

An absolute life saver for our small family. We even extended our stay by a few extra days. What Dom and Magda have created and built in Ahangama is a testament to their capabilities as a family and couple. They have achieved a level of comfort and detail that is incredibly hard to reach. They have designed a huge villa around the needs of young families with various suites and rooms that tick every box. They are also excellent hosts never too tired to help out and give advice or recommendations. Bravo guys 10/10 and we wish you every success for the future.

Cet hébergements était exceptionnel avec une personnel digne d'un hôtel 5 étoile. La plage en face de l'hôtel était déserte avec le lagon à 5 min à pied. C'est vraiment l'endroit idéal pour se reposer loin de tout. Nous avons eu la chance de passer une soirée au coin du feu sur la plage avec Sidath et son épouse qui était présent et c'était l'une de nos belles rencontres du Sri-Lanka.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Jungle. We stayed almost 3 weeks. The rooms are classy, the view is amazing, and the location is convenient to all the shops. the staff are professional and very polite and helpful. The sand on the beach is lovely, light, and soft to walk on. The ocean here has fantastic bug eaves you can watch. Its fun to wade in but dangerous to swim a lot of the time. Great for boogie boarding. The food was great and the restaurant service was impeccable.. thank you to all the wonderful staff for allowing us to feel right at home.

I recently stayed at a stunning villa in Weligama, Sri Lanka, booked through Airbnb, and it was an exceptional experience for my family and me. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were cozy and clean, and the common areas offered plenty of room for our two children to play and relax. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the warm hospitality of the hosts. The host’s wife greeted us with a smile and served us the most delicious morning tea with milk . The villa is located in a very peaceful and quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle, making it the perfect retreat for families seeking tranquility. The environment felt safe and welcoming, and we appreciated how baby- and family-friendly the space was I highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Weligama

Nice host/hotel. Liked the seaview and the pool, rooftop terrace and high bunk bed. We where given a complementary 2½ hour late check out. Excellent. A few power cuts (not the hotels fault) and some outside music hear 2 out of 6 nights. We had to pay extra (4 €/night) for a minibar/fridge.
