Simple home with beautiful surroundings. Clean and spacious. Catered well for our big group. Specious backyard and close to everything. it's perfect for milford sound visit.

We booked two rooms so had the whole place to ourselves. There's a open concept kitchen with a washing machine. Bedrooms came with portable heater. There is no TV and only had a swinging single big sofa in the shared living space. But our group of 4 had no issue in sitting at the dining chairs for chats. Donna had been helpful in giving us more clothes racks to sun our washed clothes. There's a friendly dog to play ball with too!

The house and garden is very beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed using the grill on the terrace. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom feels like a little spa. It was a bit cold but there were plenty extra blankets. Selena is a very good host and super nice. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay during our holiday here. Their home is very close to town with lots of shops, grocery store, hiking trails and the lake nearby! Great place to stay if you want to visit the Milford Sounds for the day and go hiking. We had a setback when we initially arrived but Kris responded immediately and took care of it for us.

I stayed with my small family of 4 with two children aged 9 and 6. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone, especially to those with young family, its spacious, warm and comfortable with lots of amenities to use. Thanks for having us. Cheers Joy

This property was lovely and comfortable. Nice and quiet with easy check in. The house was clean with a well equipped kitchen. This property was a great base to visit Milford Sound and the Glowworm Caves. We had a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great home away from home.

The homestead is beautiful. It’s like a time travel to the 70’s until 90’s. It reminded me of my grandparents house. The space is huge every thing is very well mantained and it has a beautiful sun coming in the afternoon. The whole precinct has a big garden and a lot of curious things to appreciate. Host was very kind and helpful. Very good breakfast provision for one to cook.

The Laybak Retreat was a great place to make a home base for a day at Milford Sound. I only wish we had more time to explore Te Anau and the surrounding area. The house was comfortable and warm when we needed it to be. I especially loved the inclusion of toys and games for my toddler! After a lot of traveling with the same old toys he was thrilled to play with some big trucks and jump on the trampoline. I would definitely recommend!

This place was great! View is outstanding both front and back. Hans greeted us and gave us a little tour of the farm. Horses were friendly and pretty entertaining. Very peaceful and relaxing setting. Inside was spotless, very well thought out, and comfortable. We would go out of our way to stay there again.

This was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand so far. If you want more than just a place to stay, this is the spot. The home was clean, nice layout and amazing light and view though the huge windows. We absolutely loved walking around the farm and seeing all the animals. The horses and pigs were a highlight. The dogs were so friendly. The beach just down the road was beautiful and empty. Can’t recommend strongly enough.

This was a great place to stay in Te Anau, couldn't recommend it enough

geräumige Unterkunft am Rande von Te Anau (5min mit dem Auto ins Zentrum), Küche top ausgestattet, man hat ein ganzes Grundstück für sich. Das Wohnzimmer befindet sich in einer Garage, es gibt kein WlLAN (man hat aber guten Handy-Empfang)

Wonderful location Near all the hotels but this house had wonderful indoor and outdoor space. Sorry we weren’t around long enough to really enjoy the stunning views on the deck. Beds were comfortable and well appointed with lots of charging cords. Nice laundry option and helpful guidebooks. Fabulous house!

Marks place met all our expectations and more. The home had everything we needed for our three night stay, and we could see the effort that has gone in to providing all the amenities that visitors might need inTe Anau. Communication was amazing, and Mark was extremely accommodating and generous. The information on the local activities, sights and area was also amazing. Such great ambassadors for the Te Anau and Fiordland. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Te Anau wanting to experience a kiwi crib and hospitality. Thank you.
