My partner and I decided last minute to book a night away for our anniversary. We booked at 4pm the day before we arrived and Kathy responded within 20 minutes. Upon arrival she had included a “Happy Anniversary” picture which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything was absolutely outstanding. Our time was an absolute dream and we will definitely be back. Our favourite things was the fire pit, spa pool and outdoor area. They really did have everything and all the extra little goodies that we got were an amazing touch. Absolutely nothing to fault and we can’t wait to return! 🙌

This was a sporadic trip to which we booked a day earlier. Zoe was prompt in her responses, provided precise directions on how to find the place and the scenery from both the beach and eastury was incredible. We absolutely loved the clamping tent, it has now ruined traditional camping for us 😉 we are already looking at dates for when we can return. Thank you Zoe!!

This was my first glamping experience and it was fantastic! Linda provided everything you may need. The space was clean and comfortable. The outdoor bath, with the mountain right there, was fabulous. We even had a bovine buddy allow us to give her a few scratches behind the ear.

What a place! Beautifully kitted out glamping tent surrounded by bush and native birds. We stayed one night during a storm in Autumn- the tent felt secure and cosy. It was easy to heat with the heat pump, and easy access to the BBQ (front) and spa (at the back). The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, and there are games to play. Plenty of space and comfy beds. I’d highly recommend.

Cheryl was very kind and proactive in showing us the place, we really enjoyed the privacy and nature more than I thought I would appreciate. The facilities were all great our stay was very comfortable. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for somewhere private comfortable and fresh.

Wow!!! Absolutely stunning property with premium design and finishes with a 13/10 view. This was our first stay after landing in Auckland and it was absolutely the highlight of our time on the north island. If you’re looking for extra touches, I highly recommend the optional catered meals (we had charcuterie for lunch and steaks and for dinner) and on-site massages (our were outdoors on the patio, which was legendary).

The location offers superb mountain and sea views across Mohua- Golden Bay and a short drive to restaurants if you want to leave. It is very comfortable. Our hosts left many thoughtful touches. Our weather wasn’t great so we appreciated the heated bathroom floor and fire. You may need the earplugs ( it can get very windy). Great bed, birdsong and privacy.

Our one-night stay at the Waha Ridge oyster tent was a luxurious and unforgettable experience. It had everything we needed, from a stunning outdoor bath and cozy fire pit to thoughtful local touches like chocolate, marshmallows, and fresh eggs. We absolutely loved our time there and can’t wait to come back!

This was the most special place we stayed in our 3 week journey around NZ. The location next to the babbling brook next to the rolling hills of sheep and grass are what fairytales are made of. Breakfast was lovely. A great place to stay if you plan to hike tongariro. This place is worth the price, highly recommend.

absolutely stunning and unique. an ideal getaway for a special occasion, you feel so secluded yet you are still close enough to everything you need in havelock north. the smart tent features were very fun and made the experience feel even more luxurious.

A beautiful spot. It’s a little further out from the road than I’d expected but the busses come every 15 minutes. I’ll never forget the view of the stars from the hammock.

I would so book The Kowhai Retreat again. Its perfect! It was even more perfect to stay after our wedding 😍 Its private with beautiful views!

Great place for getaway. Safe place for kids to play and love the board games for the kids. Very cozy and clean. Everything was available we could think for spending quality time. Loved the night birds noises. It was a beautiful experience. Love to come again.

An amazing glamping setup in a beautiful peaceful spot with absolutely everything we needed. We stayed 3 nights and spent the time chilling out and used it as a base to do some local activities. The birds were fun to watch and listen to. Would love to stay again.

So quiet and peaceful, only the birds and faraway farm animals to hear in the distance. Millions of stars fill the sky at night. Great retreat to return to after a busy day hiking and exploring (and gin tasting!) The outdoor shower is AMAZING! And the bed is so comfortable. The cool nights made for a fabulous enjoyable sleep. Camilla and Ryan are so friendly and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend to everyone! It’s a very special place.
