Quail's Cottage is beautifully curated and well appointed. Lots of thought has gone into making the cottage relaxing and comfortable from the beds and linen, to the comfy seating. We made the best fresh snapper and salads whilst there...all with locally grown ingredients. Monganui is easy to walk to with cute cafes and restaurants. Nearby Cooper's Beach has useful local shopping area. There are beautiful beaches nearby. Quail's Cottage has a great view of the local harbour...and it's dog friendly! It is our second stay at the Cottage, and will definitely be back. Thank you, Richard

From the moment we arrived, the experience felt like an adventure. The long, scenic driveway set the tone, leading up to a charming vintage-style house on a vast, lush property surrounded by paddocks and trees. The location is incredibly private—perfect for a peaceful retreat in the Far North. A lovely walking track takes you to the lake, adding to the property’s charm. The house is spacious and well-equipped, featuring a powerful shower, a dishwasher, and a free-to-use washing machine and dryer. There’s also an outdoor BBQ, WiFi, and a TV with Sky, Netflix, Disney+, and more. The kitchen has everything you need, including a great oven and stove. The beds are comfortable, and the home has all the essentials for a relaxing stay. To top it off, the host is fantastic—always available if needed but respectful of privacy.

This place will always hold a special place in our hearts - it’s where we decided to move to New Zealand. This was our second stay, and just like the first time, it was pure magic. The location is peaceful and private, with stunning views in every direction. The house is beautifully crafted and full of love - you can feel the care and intention in every corner. The fruit and vegetable garden is a dream. We loved picking fresh produce and enjoying it throughout our stay. On rainy days, the chimney adds the perfect cosy touch and makes the space feel extra special. Our host is incredibly warm and welcoming, with amazingly fast communication and a genuine kindness that makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

We have immensely enjoyed our stay here. There is plenty of room for the kids to play and of course a beautiful beach very close to the bach. A lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and spend time together. Also a good location to explore the Far North and come back to a tranquil place at the end of the day.

Our stay at Kathy’s place was wonderful. We had visited Cape Reinga and it was only an hours drive down. It was the perfect spot to stay after a busy day. Kathy was so welcoming and friendly, we felt right at home. Her spot is out of the way and very peaceful. Just what we needed. Thank you Kathy!
