The Solent : chambres d'hôtel

This was a perfect find. Such a gorgeous b&b. I wish we had more time to spend there. But we were in and out for a party. The breakfast was lovely and just what we needed. Our room was lovely real shabby chic. They even provided an iron. I will definitely be coming back. We enjoyed a beach front walk to Portsmouth to gunwharf.

Booked at the last minute for the night was good value and only a short walk to the old village and a nice breakfast too

An excellent short stay. I was called on the day of arrival, to proactively help me check in, and the room was comfortable, very clean, and totally as described. Great location and very walkable. I could not find a fault, and would definitely stay again

Beautiful room, quiet, and stunning surroundings! I stayed in one of their garden rooms, which was so peaceful, with its own outside area. Perfect for sunny days, looking over the water. Watched the heron fly over the water and perch in a tree, through breakfast. Lovely experience thank-you!

Looking for a night away and this was perfect for us - lovely location, we had a ground floor garden room. Had lunch in the bar area and all was very nice and staff were so attentive and could not do enough! Would stay again

I came for a quick winter break with my son and we had a fantastic stay. The annexe had everything we needed. There were lots of games to keep us busy in the evening & smart TV was easy to use. There was wine and chocolates which were appreciated and everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was really comfortable too- had a great sleep! The Wi-Fi is also really good here- I did have to work there for a few hours and it managed just fine which was a relief. We also loved the location, the annexe is on a quiet farm, when we were relaxing in the hot tub, all we could hear was nature and wildlife. In terms of the surrounding area we went to the Queen Elizabeth country park to walk the trails there, the trails were really well marked- this place is also great for bikes. Overall we had a great time with the highlights being the hot tub and quiet location. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Wow! We’ve just come back from a two night stay and oh my god! It was amazing! The house is incredible and beautiful, added bonus of a large hot tub! The gardens are stunning. Fenella is the perfect host! So warm and welcoming. I was greeted at the gate when we arrived and she had messaged beforehand with directions to come into the property. Showed us around and showed us our STUNNING room. So clean and pretty. The bed so comfy too! Best night sleep in ages! Fresh towels and toiletries for us. She came down with a bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy In the hot tub. In the mornings she left a selection of toast and some jam for us. Kitchenette is fully equipped. She left some milk for us to enjoy a morning cuppa too! There’s lots of information leaflets in the lobby and a guide on eateries in the area too. What a beautiful property and what an incredible host. We will most certainly be returning very soon! So welcoming and helpful thank you so much for being so lovely we loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

Clear instructions received from Kerry and access was easy to the lodge. The lodge was a little smaller than I was expecting as in there was nowhere to sit down and have a cup of tea for example but I suppose that’s what the outdoor space is for but was just a little chilly this time of year. The outdoor space was lovely and it felt extremely private although we did have a man doing some noisy work on a building next to the lodge at 10am on our day of departure so that wasn’t great. Would have been nice if he could have waited until checkout time of 11am. The road noise didn’t bother us at all as mentioned in quite a few other reviews. We live in a busy main road so may just be used to it and we also had the lodge furthest away from the road. Minor issue but it mentioned in the listing that there was salt pepper and oil provided but there wasn’t and so was bit annoyed as I hadn’t brought any. Accommodation is really cute. Must come back in summer to use the bath!

Had a great stay at Jacobs place, precise and easy check in. The room was spacious and clean, a nice kitchen space if you want a cuppa, and shops just around the corner

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Betten waren super. John ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wir waren absolut begeistert. Wir hatten mit John eine super Zeit und sehr viel Spaß. Man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. John hat uns jeden Tag zum Festival of Speed gefahren und wieder abgeholt. Einfach super. Wir können es nur empfehlen und kommen sehr gerne wieder.
