A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

we had an amazing stay. The cottage has everything you could want for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was great also. The hosts were great gave us all the information we would need while staying in the cottage. I would recommend staying here. We would definitely come back and stay here again. The pub over the road serves lovely food with a great menu.

Lovely quite place to stay? Friendly host and nice welcome pack on arrival. Comfortable couch and bed. Very spacious downstairs and wheelchair friendly. The vents can be a bit noisy when the wind gets up. Very little light pollution in some directions if you are into star gazing. The drive is spacious .

Nicolas place was fantastic ! absolutely beautiful place both inside and out was everything I could have asked for and more and Nicola herself was super helpful and friendly made me feel even more relaxed than I already was and got to admire the hard work she'd put into her place and it shows would definitely go again 😊

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Peewit Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we all felt right at home, the place was spotless, beds very comfortable too! Everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay was provided. Having the private hot tub was fabulous, we loved it after full days of being tourists in the local area. On a separate note, we would highly recommend a visit to Beamish Museum which was about a 30 min drive, we also spent a day in Durham City & booked a 2.5 hr History/City Tour with walkaboutdurham - highly recommended. Tour Guide Peter is very knowledgeable & so passionate about his job plus he gives everyone a "free" cocktail voucher for Turtle Bay - well deserved after 2.5hrs walking around the City 🤣🤣

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was perfect for us the hot tub, games room and outside kitchen made it extra special. We had a lovely relaxing weekend. The cottage was very well equipped and had the most amazing views.

Fantastic cottage and location is to die for. I have got to say David and Barbara have a jewel here. Claire has communicated everything we needed and answered every question we had. Again fantastic. Highly recommend this place. Thanks and hope to return

This is a return trip for us as we enjoyed it so much on our previous visit. We were made to feel very much at home, and Laura goes out of her way to make things as perfect as possible. The small details make all the difference, the dog treats and chocolate for my sons to the wine and brownies left in the spotless, well equipped kitchen. The property is very tastefully decorated, both clean and cosy, the log burner is a real plus too. Many thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Had great stay at the cottage with our Giant Schnauzer Blue. The host Sarah was amazing, we arrived very late, and Sarah had left heaters and lights on so once we arrive it is nice and cosy! Location was great, so close to everything and all the places we had planned to visit while in Newcastle. The cottage also had a fenced off terrace for our dog to roam around. Would definitely return when visiting family 😊Thank you Sarah!

Ideally situated, literally 30 seconds walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the village where there are restaurants pubs and shops. Nice cosy little property, suited our needs just right.

Just back from a long weekend staying at Gardeners Cottage and it was bliss. Lockhaugh Farm/Gardeners Cottage is in an excellent location - I’m from the area and never knew it existed! Tucked away down a farm track; the site has stunning views and feels very secluded - all we heard all weekend was birds singing. The farm backs out onto the Derwent walk/river so literally step out the gate and you’re onto a beautiful walk. At the top of the track is Rowlands Gill, a bustling village just 15/20 mins from Newcastle, so you have the best of both worlds. We went out two nights during our stay and no problem with taxis finding us (we used Kingsway). The cottage is surprisingly light and airy but still cosy. Well appointed kitchen, wet room and huge comfy bed - we slept amazingly. Struggled a bit with the telly and WiFi signal but we weren’t fussed - we pre downloaded some bits on the iPad and could make calls from the car. Definitely our new base when visiting family in the area!

Lovely little place, which we’ve used a base for the first three legs of the Hadrian’s Wall path. The hot tub was a blessing after a full day of hiking. Warmly recommended!

This cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, and, even though it looks small on the outside, it is very spacious inside. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is a really lovely space as is the lounge, where we enjoyed the log burner. It is great to have 2 bathrooms as well as a downstairs toilet, not to mention the washing machine and dryer! We love looking out at the fields and hills in the morning.

Hands down go to spot for whenever I come up from London to visit family in the area. Adam's place feels like you are staying on a cosy hidden away village cottage in the heart of Wickham and a stones throw from Newcastle city centre. Father and I stayed whilst in town to visit family and it was the perfect setup. Well kept and modern furnishing with lots of space both in the kitchen and lounge areas as well as the bathrooms. Secure on street parking hidden away from any busy roads. Adam was super responsive throughout and answered any questions or queries we had almost immediately during the stay. Overall nothing but good things to say about the property and our stay. Nice one Adam!

Great location to stay for both golf, and getting into Newcastle. Host also booked tee times on our behalf. House was clean, modern, and comfortable. Host very helpful and responsive.

Highly recommended. Clean well presented property with comfortable lounge and beds. Warm welcome milk and water in the fridge with ample tea and coffee. Parking outside the property, didn't need to drive the whole stay, 3 mins to the wonderful longsands beach and 12 mins walk to metro to travel into Newcastle. Wide choice of pubs bars and restaurants on front street and surrounding roads. Great location and place to stay. Thanks Sharon 😀

We stayed at Hamraz's house when our home was flooded so we stayed for 4 weeks. The location is amazing- close to amenities and the views are stunning. The house was big enough for us to comfortably live in for 4 weeks. The hot tub is well worth the extra money as it's a premium hot tub. Hamraz husband very prompt at explaining things at check in. Host then very much left us to it which was ideal for us. Would stay again.

Enjoyed a lovely stay at Low Fell. Our cottage was just as described. It was so comfortable. My husband and I both slept like logs . A much needed rest. It was a perfect base for exploring .

We really loved staying at Plawsworth. It was ideal for us as a family and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Ideal location and facilities. Howard and Harry couldn’t have been more accommodating! We hope to use this as a base for our future visits to the North East.
