Akiko’s hosting was exactly what I was looking for when traveling to Japan - an opportunity to experience the Japanese culture in the most natural way. The family is so friendly, and the location is great (a suburb which allows you to visit both Kyoto and Osaka, but also a great place by itself to relax in a local restaurant/ bar); I only wish that I knew in advance that the calligraphy / kimono ceremony is not included in the price… and yet, it does not diminish the 5-star review that she deserves. Simply said - I enjoyed a lot and I highly recommend the place and the people 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Yoko’s place! She was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit—she went out of her way to help us with directions and even made us breakfast. Yoko was also very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations for things to see and do around Kyoto. The room itself was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. We really appreciated the warm hospitality and would definitely stay here again!

Keiko is so nice. She will pick me up every evening at the near station and send me to the station when I check out. There is a bus station nearby so it’s convenient to go to some tourism attractions. The room is big and clean, the bed and pillow is comfortable. In the second floor you don’t need to worry about the noise. Last, the breakfast everyday is so delicious. Wonderful stay!

Our thanks to these great hosts who were very accommodating from the first inquiry all the way to checkouut. A very friendly family who truly welcome you to their village and home. The thatched cottage was as advertised and the experience of staying out in the countryside was perfect. Not a complaint, but just stating the house is an old house with low hanging beams, which an average height persob bumped their head 5 times in 3 nights 😉. But again fully recommend Yoshiko-san's Mitoya cottage, a nice peaceful stay.

總體來說非常滿意！ 房間實際使用面積大，沒有逼仄感，回家休息時很放鬆，裝飾富有日式老房的風情，值得品味。 需要注意的是，房源位於半山坡，每日會消耗一定的步行體力，不建議年齡大、行動不便的人士入住，但非常適合身體健康、熱愛運動徒步的人士。 附近沒有便利店，請記得有需要的物品要在回家前買好，但Larry提供很多豐富的零食、飲料以及食材，包括新鮮雞蛋、豆腐等，方便自己做早餐，能夠滿足大多數時候的需求。 有非常可愛的貓咪和狗狗！ 京都氣候較為潮濕，早晚有時會偏冷，被子有點窄，後來Larry幫忙又拿了一床薄被，建議未來可以準備寬一點的～ 期待下次還能夠有機會再次入住，非常感謝您的熱情招待！

Keiko女士的美丽的房子坐落在安静迷人的山上，房子是非常传统的日式风格，住在这里能体验到浓浓的当地的氛围。Keiko把花园打理得非常美丽自然，最值得称赞的是Keiko每天精心做的从不重复的早餐，真的是美味至极！比我在外面吃的午餐和晚餐还要更丰盛。Keiko女士亲切善良，还会每天开车接送客人，在车上我们聊得非常开心愉快，我还学习到了好多日语。我这次已经深深爱上了京都，早上在Keiko的指导下学习做章鱼小丸子的美好记忆将会一直保留在我的脑海里，下次再来还会入住Keiko的房子！

One of the best experiences I’ve had on an air bnb. Yoko was super friendly and if you needed anything she would help you and give you local recommendations :) and she spoiled us with fresh fruit and snacks for us to try. I would definitely stay here again!

La mama est très accueillante et souriante ! Nous avons passé un séjour à 4 dans la grande chambre, malgré le faite qu’elle ne parle pas anglais nous arrivons toujours à communiquer et à passer des moments chouettes ! Le petit déjeuner est très copieux ! Sa nourriture aussi, surtout le yum yum chicken 😁 Si nous revenons à kyoto nous y reviendrons à coup sûr !

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

The host was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was always friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for me since I was attending a conference at the international conference centre (20 minute walk). The facilities were excellent for the price.

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. I really enjoyed staying at Hide-san's property as it was conveniently located next to tourist attractions spots and had good access to transport links to other attractions. The room I stayed in also had a very authentic Japanese style design, which gave me the traditional Japanese experience I was looking for. Hide-san also showed me great hospitality and I enjoyed the many conversations that we had. The breakfast made by Hide-san also tasted really nice and it had a very homely feel to it. Overall, I'd recommend this property if you're looking for an authentic and traditonal Japanese experience in Kyoto. If I come to Japan again then I'll make future reservations at this property.

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help out with any questions or needs. The location is great – it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and equally close to popular spots like Sanjo and Nishiki Market, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It wasn’t just a standard continental breakfast – each morning, they prepared a full, delicious spread for every guest, which was such a treat to start the day. You could really feel the care and effort they put into making everyone feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was the washer and dryer, which are a bit dated. The dryer took a while to dry a half load, so I’d recommend doing smaller loads or planning laundry for when you have some time to hang out. Overall, I loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting!

I planned a trip to Kyoto with a classic B&B vibe in mind and while there was no opportunity to eat all together, Tsukiya was perfect! Location was exactly where we wanted to be in the city, with easy access to public transit and even walkable areas. The breakfasts every morning were thoughtfully crafted starting about 2 hours beforehand. The space was authentic - highly recommend to anyone going to Kyoto!

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!

Mein Aufenthalt bei Miyagon war großartig. Ich wurde vom Bahnhof abgeholt und es gab einen gut organisierten CheckIn. Die Unterkunft war sauber und genau wie in der Beschreibung. Zusätzlich standen kostenlose Getränke und Snacks zur Verfügung. Es gab jeden Morgen super leckeres Frühstück, teils mit lokalen Früchten die ich zuvor noch nie gegessen hatte. Miyagon selbst war super freundlich, immer gut erreichbar und hat mir ganz viele nützliche Tipps für die Reise gegeben. Dank eines Übersetzungsgeräts, welches Sie immer bei sich hatte war die Verständigung ebenfalls einfach. Das Haus befindet sich direkt an einer Straße die voller Sakurabäme ist. Zudem sind unmittelbar in der Umgebung viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das einzige was ich schade fand ist, dass ich die Unterkunft nicht für eine längeren Zeitraum gebucht hatte.

Thankyou so much Tanaka San and Machiko San. We had the best time starting here, it felt like we were staying at my parents house and were made to feel so welcome. After a long journey from London via Tokyo the sight of Tanaka San at the station with a huge smile and outstretched arms was just wonderful. We loved breakfast every morning in the cosy kitchen prepared by Machiko San. Our room was great, with lots of places to put things and the location was lovely too, up in the hills in a residential area with easy access to the city via bus. Tanaka San was super helpful of the bus routes and much more dependable than Google maps... Make sure you make time to have a chat with him in the morning about your plans and he'll sort you out with clear instructions... We LOVED the map and buses! We were so sad to leave them and could have stayed much longer. Thank you both x
