Yukiko is such a wonderful host. My partner and I have had a great time in her beautiful townhome. It was peaceful and had everything that we needed. I highly recommend that someone who doesn’t want a typical hostel/hotel experience to come here!!!

We stayed at this place for two nights and loved it so much. Michi is really responsive and provided clear instructions on how to check in and check out. The location of the place is really convenient and rooms were clean with great amenities.

Located next to the beautiful Toji Temple, Shunsukes place was perfect for a short stay in Kyoto. Well connected to the city centre and walking distance to a selection of great restaurants. The home is traditional, very authentic and welcoming.

Katsura club is an experience of Kyoto and Japan on its own. Our host Koichi is very warm, welcoming, and kind, he speaks little English but that didn’t hinder his communication skills. He gave us a tour of the house and taught us the history behind Katsura Club and it’s very educational. He’s very thorough and detailed with teaching us how to use the amenities around the house. A little story: It’s our first time in Kyoto Station and we got lost trying to find the lockers we put our luggages in and so we left it there prior to checking in. Koichi noticed that we didn’t have anything with us and asked where our stuff was, and after telling him what had happened, he offered to drop us off at the station. This just shows how attentive, hospitable and accommodating of a host he is. He even wanted to wait until we got our stuff and drop us back at Katsura club but we politely declined. As much as I’d love to keep this gem all to myself, it truly deserves to be experienced by others.

Akane's place was perfect for our group of 6. The apartment is flexible for different combinations of people in the 3 bedrooms. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Akane always responded right away whenever we needed instructions on anything in the apartment. Her English is very good and she is very friendly. We had a great time!

We were in kyoto for few days and Ume was an excellent and very friendly host. We really enjoyed the traditional japanese setting home. if we had more PTOs, we would love to come back and spend longer time there!

挺温馨的，适合一家人或朋友一起住，两个房间，楼上和楼下都有卫生间和洗澡的，房东服务也很好，沟通很顺利！

The space was squeaky clean and appeared to have been redone fairly recently. Having washer/dryer on site was a huge plus, cuts down on clothing we needed to schlep with us. NOTE: if the washer says to check the drain....there is both a lint AND a water filter that needs to be cleaned. Took us a bit to figure out where the drain filter was. When we first checked in, it seemed like we'd freeze to death. However, once we figured out the heating (in the helpful notebook) we were quite comfortable. One thing to be aware of, the common room is floor seating only. If I were younger, it wouldn't mention it. However at age 70, getting up from the floor is not as easy as it used to be. Stairs are a bit steep as well. Overall, we enjoyed staying there. The microwave and stove were just enough for the few times we bought food and prepared it there. Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. Location was great. I would stay there again if I get another chance to return to Kyoto.

We were a party of 11: 8 adults and 3 children. The place was very spacious for all of us with plenty of bathrooms and toilets. Overall comment from all of my guests was that this was the best AirBnB that they had ever stayed in. A great place, well kept and clean, in a perfect location. Next time with a large group I will definitely stay here. Thank you.

Exactly what we needed after the last few weeks in hotels. It made us feel like we were locals for that moment. Everything is 10mins walk away and you’re close to the river for those sunrise/ sunset walks.

The house is very beautiful and quaint. Located 1 train stop away from Kyoto Station, it was fairly easy to get to. You can also take the nearby train straight to Osaka, which was a nice surprise. The interior was beautifully crafted and well-maintained, with just what you need for your stay. Our host was very responsive and kind, and helped us out with any issues that arrived. They responded quickly and were kind. I would reccommend this for anyone who wants to stay in a traditional-style house with some of the trappings of modern life.

Lovely stay with a large group. We all had plenty of space and felt right at home! Great location - walkable to so many sights and in a super quiet neighborhood. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

very classic Japanese style house with good functional facilities, including floor heating. Good location, it's very easy to find, and some good Japanese restaurants and cafes around there.

Exaclty how it was described. Its a 10 min walk to the Higashiyama Ward which was fantastic. The house is super clean, very authentic, has the best amenities, attention to detail, a thoughtful welcome gift and over all a very helpful and responsive host. After a long day of flying and arriving to the house, the host was super helpful made sure I was checked in, offered me information on nearby supermarkets and helped get a taxi when I needed. Its a great place if you want to be outside the city center and experience an authentic stay in Kyoto. Thank you so much for everything 🙏🏻

We had a fantastic stay in an incredible part of Kyoto. We felt so lucky to be immersed in this beautiful city. The machiya was beautifully designed and I still dream of the bath

I was impressed by the attention to detail and the beauty of the place. The pleasant scents throughout the house added a refined touch to the atmosphere. Bathing and relaxing in the tub while looking out at the zen rock garden was truly indescribable. Sleeping on the futon bed was incredibly comfortable. There were clear instructions for everything in the house, and tea, kitchen essentials, and utensils were all fully provided. The place was extremely clean, well-organized, and exceeded my expectations. There was underfloor heating in the tatami area and kitchen, as well as air conditioning and heating in every room. I really appreciated having a vending machine and a LUUP scooter right next to the house, which made getting around easy. The host was very helpful and provided all the assistance I asked for, and I’m truly grateful for that. I highly recommend staying at this machiya, and if I ever visit Kyoto again, I’ll definitely spend my nights here. It was a wonderful experience that
