I spent a long weekend at Simon and Belinda’s place in Chapel Stile. They were abroad during my stay, but this didn’t matter - their communication was excellent and the place was superb, with lots of local recommendations. Thanks, would certainly stay again.

What a fantastic place. We really didn’t want to leave this morning. We had such a fantastic time that we have recommended this place to both friends and family. We will most definitely be returning. Thank you again

Third time we’ve stayed at High Biggin with wider family. This time a commitment ceremony. Paul went well beyond the call of duty meeting us months beforehand so we could visit to work out exactly how and in what spaces to make it happen. Everything went perfectly. As we’d planned HB was a great place for us all to relax and enjoy ourselves. The mid-March weather was unexpectedly glorious. Even got to try out the new hot tub! Hope to be back next year.

Fantastic location. However it is on a main road. I did know that in advance and wasn’t too noisy anyways. The cottage is lovely and spacious but the windows do need a bit of love. They will need replacing soon as they don’t close well. The hot tub was super and well needed after a day out on the bike or out hiking. Really enjoyed the short break and the sun shone for all the days I was here.

Beautiful location next to the lake, relaxing and peaceful. The cottage is full of character and charm. I hope to go back again

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Three families had a wonderful weekend. Kids had the best hide and seek sessions in the big rambling house, lots of space for resting chatting cooking and playing, hot tub and excellent bonus. Kitchen was the best stocked we've ever seen. Thank you!

Amazing stay with me and my friends for a birthday week. Perfect location and perfect base for all our hikes during the week. Definitely recommend

The location was perfect—close to everything, yet peaceful and relaxing. Another fabulous stay at the cottage. The place is spotless, well fitted and in a great position in the village. Alison is a brilliant host. Approachable , kind and helpful. Not much else to say other than if you are thinking of booking this just do it !

A wonderful stay at Knotts View. It’s a lovely cottage with everything you need, and really clear instructions. A nice log fire to make it cosy in the evenings was perfect. Beautiful walks from the door and a nice friendly pub opposite with good food. The area is stunning and so close to Ullswater. Chris was a friendly host who explained everything and gave us some nice tips about places to explore. We would highly recommend and hope to stay again. Thank you

A wonderful cottage in a fabulous location. Fizz, fresh bread and homemade jam to greet us. Lovely warm and surprisingly large cottage with a gorgeous view of the ford. Great walks straight from the door with wildlife aplenty (sadly no red squirrels but our host did point us to a hotel where we managed to see them). All in all, a cracking place to stay.

Location is very accessible, close to station and shops, pubs, buses etc. Kitchen and outdoor space is great, especially in the morning. Heating was on a timer which was lovely to get back to a warm house. Highly recommend and will probably book again. Thank you Katharine

What an amazing place to stay. Beautifully presented cottage in amazing surroundings - so peaceful and relaxing. Also great access to wonderful hikes in the Lake District. Sean was a great host with fantastic communication. Could not recommend enough!! Would love to go back :-)

I had a great time at Gill's place. Good base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchen were spotless. I felt very comfortable and at home during my stay. I also got to meet Gill and she was lovely, thank you for everything!

Absolutely loved our anniversary stay at Crumble Cottage. Was everything we needed for relaxation and more On check in, Stewart was on hand and gave us an overview of the place, surroundings and suggested great places to visit and eat. The cottage itself is approx 15min walk into the centre of Cartmel - with great places to eat and drink there We visited the Wolf Predator experience by Grange-over-Sands - it was amazing!! Really enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the tranquility- Will definitely be back again! Thanks for having us (Heidi & Craig) ☺️

Catherine is an excellent host, great communication and keen that everything is ok, quick response to queries raised. lovely welcome touch, of milk, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit juice jam, butter and apples and a supply of tea and coffee. Lovely compact cottage with a good kitchen, with a dishwasher and microwave. peaceful and quiet, away from everything but only a short drive in to Kendal

A wonderful place to stay in the heart of beautiful scenery. Very well equipped and tastefully modernised. Walking distance to the pub was handy. It was lovely to sit out in the garden. Thank you for letting us stay.

Lovely little cottage that had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great shower with super nice shower gel, and lots of useful bits and bobs in the kitchen. Lovely surprise to have a bottle of Prosecco and cookies left for us too - thank you! Perfect location for walking into the village, eating at Rogan & Co and exploring the Southern Lakes. We went to Netherwood Spa for a 90 min Thermal Journey which is a 10 min drive, highly recommend after a day of walking! Would definitely come back and stay here again.

Wow! 4 of us stayed here this weekend, and it was amazing, the photos don’t do the room size justice, the log burner was a great touch and so lovely for young adults to sit down and enjoy it. Walkable from every shop and easy walks near by. Great communication. Couldn’t fault our stay.

Lovely location for a holiday with my 3 teenagers. Quiet and private location with easy, secure parking. Walking distance to a good pub , 5 mins drive to Oxenholme Station and short drive to supermarkets and Kendal. Easy to get to all the activities in the lakes. We based ourselves near Kendal for the climbing centre and did loads of outdoor activities (ghyll scrambling, SUP boarding, climbing, mountain biking). The cottage was very comfortable and there was loads of space for us all. We went to a local farm shop and had a BBQ on the gas BBQ a couple of nights - perfect sunny spot for post-activity relaxing. The cottage is very well equipped and made for a relaxing week. Thank you!

This was a beautiful spot, nice & private & accessible to the lake for a beautiful sunset pic opportunity. Very clean & tidy on arrival & we tried our best to leave it as we found it.
