The Erickson family has taken incredible care of this absolute gem of a summer home. The island itself is picture-perfect Maine, but the buildings themselves blew us away. We felt like we were stepping back in time-- the main house was built around 1918 (right, Michael?), and while it now has modern luxuries like plumbing and electricity, you can tell that the family took the greatest care to preserve the house's character. Our favorite activity while staying there was the wood-fired sauna circuit: jump in the ocean, sweat in the sauna, one more ocean dip, and then an outdoor shower, before heading to the cook house for a drink and, eventually, dinner. Time slows on McGee Island, and while our stay felt effortless, you can tell that there was great effort taken by the family (and their amazing caretaker, and housecleaners) to create an energy of nostalgia, simplicity, and unpretentiousness. We truly hope to come back!

The Beck's home is wonderful with gorgeous views from the wrap around deck. One feature of the house that we took full advantage of is the screened porch, a real plus in Maine. The kitchen is well equipped and included a filtered water tap and ice maker. Wifi was stable throughout our stay. It was an easy drive to Deer Isle Village, hiking trails, and Stonington. Island Agency was very responsive and helpful. A great stay overall. We hope to return next year.

Our family had a wonderful time swimming, boating, fishing, hiking the trails, canoeing and sitting by the nightly campfire. Whenever we had needs, Michelle answered promptly and graciously. Lee was a huge help, as well. FANTASTIC hosts!!!!

Zeron’s island is a stunning property with everything you’d ever need for a relaxing vacation. We watched beautiful sunsets every night from the lookout point and from the boat. The house is loaded with every lawn game and the kayaks / paddle boards were a hit. We will definitely be back!

I travel a lot for work. I always look for peaceful places that feel safe and have beautiful surroundings (in the event that I get to enjoy them on a work trip). Mo was a clear and responsive host. Parking is so easy in this neighborhood. The space is even more spacious in person than I expected. Thanks, Mo!

We were delighted to get a chance to stay on this beautiful island in a quiet spot surrounded by water and birds! I liked walking barefoot in the mudflats during low tide…! Very well stocked and we appreciated Deborah’s flexibility around the weather. Hope to come back!

We loved our long weekend at Joe’s place. The gorgeous waterfront setting, the history, the utterly peaceful vibe, brilliant starlit night skies, reading by candlelight every night…it was a special experience to be there, and we hope to return. Thank you Joe!!

We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

We stayed a week with our aril son at Mike and Alyssa’s place, and It truly was the perfect getaway! Life is busy, and when we go on vacation, the last thing we wan would be distraction. This log home sits on its own (with no one else) island, and the scenery on Lake Vermillion is just breathtaking. It is quiet, secluded, with plenty of fishing to do. We rented one of Mike’s boat for a few days and we had so much fun exploring the lake. Mike and Alyssa were wondering host, the response is quick and they answered every question we had about the area, fishing, the home etc. Mike is a lifetime fisherman, and we went out chartering with him one of our days and we learned so much! They are kind, honest, sweet family, and we felt like we were treated like one during our stay! We hope to be back some time!!

This was our second time to stay at this location. Everything, just as the 1st time, was great! All furnishings were adequate - this time (due to cooler temps) she added throw blankets which were handy in the morning and evening. This time we cooked more and used all cooking equipment which we found to be good quality and in working order. We did three fires in the pit and all went smoothly -- plenty of wood! Since we had to be transported to the island by way of boat, communication was important and they were there at the dock waiting and helped carry our baggage. We look forward to staying here next year.

Very nice stay. Adam and Jared were very responsive. House was very clean and as described. The orchard was a lovely setting and easy access to state parks and other nature area

This was our first airbnb experience and this exceeded our expectations. Karen was a wonderful host, our communication started months before our stay. She has everything you could want, a real “home away from home”. I loved that she was dog friendly, and even left us some homemade brownies!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Corinne's home! A perfect spot to stay to explore the south and north forks, and the location of the home is stunning. we will be back!

The cottage was great. Rustic with a lot of character and reminded me of St Lawrence and Finger Lakes vacations when I was a kid. We've stayed at a number of places on the river over the years and this was the first time upon arrival I turned to my wife and said..."Now THIS is a river cottage." It had everything you could ever want to just be at the river and enjoy yourself. Susan was a great host, gave detailed, easy, and clear instructions and was very responsive.

Tim was helpful before and during our stay. That weekend, we had a lot of snow, and everyone did their best.

We had a Wonderful time at the island!!! We stayed two nights with our (older) lab, and Sherrie and her family were a pleasure and SO accommodating!!! They helped us with all our gear and getting our dog on/off the boat, they brought us extra water and propane...just all around the consummate hosts!!! The island was as promised...we swam and kayaked to our hearts' content and enjoyed exploring a bit and just generally taking in the beauty of our surroundings! Honestly, No complaints, and we both highly recommend it!!! Thank you, Sherrie! 😃

Great property for 6 folks to share. Beautiful view. You can get taxis but better to have a car on this part of the island. No cell service and WiFi is spotty, but it’s fine as long as you don’t plan on working or calling anyone.

Our stay at Grants Island was just what we needed for a little family getaway! The weather complied, the lake and views from the dock were amazing. The use of the pontoon made for good fishing but even better fishing right off the dock! John was more than accommodating with our needs and communication was easy. The cabin fit 5 of us just fine and everyone enjoyed themselves. The local restaurant had great food and drinks!

Our 2nd trip to this house and we will be making a 3rd. We've stayed at Daufuskie 5 times and this house/location is one of a kind.

This place is magical! Adam was super helpful giving us advice on when to arrive and plan accordingly. We had a blast staying here for a week with our two kids. Everything we needed was there and the town was easily accessible by boat. Gas grill on the porch and fresh fish from town made easy dinners. The resident eagle family was fun to watch. Recommend bringing a charging block, water shoes, and a headlamp. Miss this place already! It is a true Maine summer experience.
