Being welcomed in person - obviously caring for us - felt a bit like coming home :-) Next time here again!

I would highly recommend Forty winks, to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle. It is the perfect home away from home, in the country side, with all one can need for a peaceful break. Peter was a gracious host, his communication was clear and he is such a friendly, warm person. My sister and i thoroughly enjoyed our break at Forty winks. The pictures don't do justice to the attention to detail. Having drinking water (the tap water is safe too), fresh rusks, milk in the fridge. Comfortable beds. Divine shower. Seeing the Zebras stroll by was such a treat. The surrounding area is beautiful. Nature at its best. Thank you Peter for a memorable weekend.

What a great find Maryke’s place is! Honey cottage is beautiful - very spacious, light and airy with a lovely covered terrace where we enjoyed our breakfasts and a glass of wine. Maryke gave us some great recommendations for hikes to explore. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great until the last day but the cottage is so well equipped and spacious we were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place if travelling to the central Drakensberg area

Beautiful sandstone farmhouse and adjacent accommodation, on a farm in the eastern Free State. Looks out over attractive garden and werf, with wide verandah. Lindie was super helpful and welcoming as was their farm manager. Very comfortable, very clean and very cosy and well equipped.

What a fantastic stay at Wyford Farm. Such brilliant history, spotlessly clean, everything you need, and true African character! We’ll definitely be back!

Die Kliphuis is an absolute gem! The farm is incredibly beautiful and offered the perfect escape we needed to relax and recharge. The house itself is spacious, comfortable, and boasts the most stunning views—waking up to them was a treat! We loved how much space there was to explore, and it was a big bonus that our dogs could come along and enjoy the walks with us. The peaceful, secluded setting made it easy to unwind and truly enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a restful getaway! We'll definitely be back.

I had an amazing stay at this farmhouse. The peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by nature, made it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The presence of many horses added a charming touch, and the small lake created a serene and calming environment. The entire setting was quiet and beautifully maintained, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.

This is a fantastic location, quiet and in the midst of nature. The rooms are spacious and clean. We opted for dinner and breakfast which was delicious! Highly recommended.

My family and I spent Christmas at Oakvlei Farm and we absolutely loved it! The house was perfect in every way. We were amazed by how friendly and responsive Carol and her team were during our stay as they never hesitated to assist us. I have to condone her for the extremely comfy beds and quality linen on the beds. We were able to bring our two little dogs in which they were able to run around the whole day, seeing as the big garden is completely closed off. If you are looking for a peaceful and spacious retreat with friends or family, I highly recommend Carol's place.

I had a beautiful stay at Riverside Cottage. A very well equipped accommodation in a bucolic environment. Kim was very helpful whether it be for the direction to the cottage or to make sure I have everything I need during my stay. The host have a great sense of hospitality and I thank them for that.

What a perfect little getaway! We felt right at home and comfortable in the beautiful farm house. It was very clean and well kept. Nestled in the mountains, but also not far from town - it's the perfect location!

We had a great time. There are few places that accommodate a big group so well, with plenty of space for adults and children alike. Alice and George on-site were very helpful and accommodating. Hope to visit in the near future again.

Cottage was actually better than the photos. Was lovely and clean, also very helpful to have Sylvia help out with cleaning etc, she was lovely. Comfortable beds and good linen. Fire not working which was a little disappointing the first night as it was chilly, not needed after that.. hopefully will be available in the future.

We had a beautiful peaceful time, the cottage was just the perfect size for our family. The view is spectacular and the walks lovely. We loved the dogs coming to visit and taking us on the walk. Will definitely go back.

We so enjoyed our stay, the accommodation, location and surroundings were perfect. Stu & Ali were wonderful hosts and very welcoming. We were made to feel like old friends and will definitely be back again.

What a find! A beautiful oasis in the middle of nature’s magnificence. The Bokmakierie unit accommodation was superb and outside, the highlight was the lookout point, with its own sofa/chairs and dining table. The braai facilities were great as was the pillared pergola. The only thing we forgot to try was the swing seat, looking directly into the Vredefort Dome. Just top-class in every respect.

Such a large Beautiful family home. 3 bathrooms for the 5 rooms meant never having to wait. Pool table and table tennis was great night time entertainment and made for good family rivalry. 😜

Had a lovely weekend stay at Farside stable cottage, the cottage is beautifully set on a lovely farm with views of dairy cows grazing in the meadows. The cottage is very cozy and well equipped with some lovely antique furniture to boot. Ryan was an amazing host! Would definitely recommend a visit.
