The view from the cabin was exceptional. Exactly as described. Very private and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, even had champagne glasses! And everything was very clean. Howard was very responsive as well. The only downside was getting there was a bit tricky. We weren’t quite sure if we would ever get to the top of the mountain. I guess that’s what makes the view worth it! Luckily, we printed Howard‘s very detailed directions and were able to find it. Perfect weekend getaway.

Phenomenal place to stay!! More than we expected. If looking for a getaway and do some skiing this is the place to stay. Nancy was so helpful and always checked in on us to make sure we were good. If staying in the winter months for some skiing, definitely make sure you are in a 4WD.

This little cabin was in a gorgeous location! Right next to the snow tubing and not far from grandfather mountain! The views from the hot tub were amazing! Brought our two dogs and they loved it! The patio with the hot tub was fenced in so the dogs were able to hang with us while we were relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely would recommend and plan to come back!

We had an amazing stay and thoroughly enjoyed the front yard for all day sledding! The house was spacious - perfect for our four families! Most importantly, the hosts were super friendly and responsive to any questions we had! We will definitely be back to enjoy the river in the summer!!

Will was a great host and very responsive. His home was beautiful, had great amenities and most importantly clean and taken care of! Most will need 4x4 to get up and down the driveway especially it has snowed or is icy.

I cannot praise this place enough, it was absolutely stunning. Breathtaking views on all sides and so many wonderful amenities. Nancy is an incredible lady and super helpful and flexible. Would HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of this peaceful getaway.

Our stay at Anne's house was simply amazing. She is the perfect host, always responsive, helpful, accommodating whenever possible, willing to answer questions, and the home itself was absolutely perfect! Every single person in our group returned raving about the house and how perfect it was for our weekend of skiing.

The cozy cabin is really well decorated and well stocked. It provided a private and peaceful mountain getaway for a married couple and our dog. I would recommend an AWD vehicle as you have to travel a mile down a gravel road with no cell reception to get there. Richard is a great host!

The space was as advertised and the kitchen was stocked & perfect as I was visiting my sister in college and she was most looking forward to a home cooked meal. The hosts were very communicative with anything I needed. The location is quite high up the hill so definitely drive with caution. I stopped at a Jerky shop close to the home and I highly recommend it! My dog loved the location and the home was exactly what we needed for our little getaway

The bed is amazing and location is walkable to restaurants, shops and university. Earthfare is close for groceries, etc. Denise is friendly and responsive and finding the place is a straight shot when arriving to Boone. Parking is easy and convenient to right into the cottage. Everything you need is in the house and spotless.

Great location, beautiful area. House is laid out well which made for an enjoyable stay. This was a perfect home-away-from-home place to be. We'd definitely rent this treasured spot again! Angela was an excellent host!

Beautiful, quiet, private and peaceful. We had the best views, nothing was disappointing. Every morning waking up w/ stunning views. Perfect location and everything we needed was at the house. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants seclusion and serenity. So sad I’m going back home.

We loved our getaway at the cottage. Although it was a little tough to get to (it is definitely in the mountains!), it was exactly as described - a rustic, cozy cottage. The bed was extra cozy and clean! We were really surprised that there was a good cellphone signal in all the areas we went over the weekend. The trails haven't recovered from the hurricane yet but we didn't have the time to do any hiking while we were there anyway. We WERE able to check one of the things of my wife's to do list though - we met with Pierce and got to feed the goats! The only grow we had was low water pressure, although that wouldn't stop me from renting again. We will keep this cottage on our favorite list for the area.

Me and my two daughters really enjoyed a weekend getaway. They felt like they were in a treehouse sleeping in the big bed. The convenience of everything the ski lift in the backyard overall amenities were awesome and the memories are unplaceable. Thank you so much, Avery.

What a great place! Also the host was very kind and great communication! Very nice place and only 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Wonderful amenities including pool, hot tub, sauna, library, shop, workout room etc etc. Only (potential) issue which is no fault of the owners is that this is a large 10 story condo complex. On busy days, especially around the weekend it can get very busy during check in and check out and you have to park outside of the guard shack and get shuttled back to the condo. Again, we didn’t really have much of a hang up but others did-just something to keep in mind. Fantastic place, and well equipped! Thank you again!

Nice house but well maintained. In a gated community which is a plus and access in and out was super easy. In walking distance to an upscale/famous restaurant. In strong proximity to Boone and Blowing Rock with a very quick drive to the Parkway.

Whitney & Jay were great hosts—responsive and helpful when we had questions. The space was just as shown/described in the listing. My family of four enjoyed our stay during spring break and our first time skiing during Sugar Mountain’s end-of-season March Madness. We made such wonderful memories here. Be sure to enjoy the most stunning sunrises and sunsets from the balcony.

Great place, exactly as advertised. Cheetola in general is a great resort and Balsam is off to one side, giving you extra privacy with woods in the back. 15 min drive to App Ski, which is what we came for. The place does have a dated furnishing style but it’s charming in its own way. One suggestion for improvement would be the mattress in the main bedroom, starting to get a bit old. Also, there was ice in the parking lot and on the steps leading to the unit. But that seems to be a Cheetola problem, not Gail.
