Vieques : locations de vacances

The place is modern and very nice. Very private. Matt was helpful with a couple of issues. The water heater was not working for the first two days we were there which coincided with a holiday (things were closed). He got it fixed as soon as possible after the holiday. Entirely our fault - we did not latch the gate properly on our last night, and three horses got into the yard. I was very apologietic and offered to shovel the "evidence," but Matt said that his cleaner would take care of it. That was very kind, and he didn't have to do that. We learned the hard way that you can't leave food on the counter, even in Ziplock bags or closed with chip clips. We did this the first night, and in the morning there were tiny ants all over the counter. You also have to scrub the sink clean every time, as ants will swarm to any hint of food residue. Lesson: double check that the gate is latched properly and no food (even in bags) on the counter or in sink.

The Casita is gorgeous, beautifully decorated, functional and welcoming. The grounds are stunning and surrounded by enormous rain trees, 40 foot bamboo groves, multiple varieties of fruit trees and flowers such as ginger and bird of paradise in bloom. This is nature meets comfort in perfect symmetry and the entire vibe is zen. We bought fresh bread, eggs, fruit, snacks and a bottle of wine in town and had breakfast at the casita every morning. One day we actually never left the property….it´s that kind of place. If you’re looking for beauty, peace and quiet in a private setting, this is it.

Perfect paradise in Destino! From pool views, evening stargazing, short drives to pristine beaches… we could not have asked for a better week stay!! Situated between San Isabel and Esperanza, bumpy backroads made for fantastic adventures. Peacocks on the rooftop in the morning, lizards in the evening, and horses making their way to the gate to say hello :) we hope to be back soon and Villa Destino is the place to be!! 10 stars all around!!!

As others mentioned, the house is great and better than the pictures. We basically lived on the porch the entire time, so perfect, and the pool is wonderful (and it's great to be further away so we weren't worried about the 3yo jumping in randomly!) The house is also supplied with all the beach things and the outdoor shower IS AMAZING. A few things that are out the host's control are the roosters/animals in general. There are a lot of roosters all over the island and near the house and they sure do like cock-a-dooing (or dogs barking) at all hours of the night. Luckily, ear plugs were provided :)

This place is absolutely amazing! We had the whole compound for ourselves with our three grown daughters and their partners. Everyone had their privacy and lots of common spaces in which to convene. The place is gorgeous…filled with lots of amazing artwork and pottery. The common pool and bathrooms are beautifully designed and decorated. The kitchen is large and has lots of pots, pans bowls etc….we even had a private chef come in for my birthday dinner. Definitely recommend renting a car or two which can be parked on the property which is walkable to the Ferry…..the location is perfect. It was beautiful, clean ,very well laid out with an amazing host. I can’t say enough about this place!!!! I would recommend bringing earplugs for the early morning rooster wake up calls which can be heard all over the island.
