We really enjoyed staying at the golden hour! The hosts were very responsive and helpful! They had sound machines in every bedroom which if you have kids is a big deal. The toys and kids activities there were a big hit! The pools are pristine and the whole outdoor area is very nice! Very short walk to beach which was also convenient! They literally thought of everything, if you forgot something chances are they had it! Definitely recommend staying here if you have children and want a nice low key place to stay!

Very convenient location for our trip, walking distance to entertainment and restaurants, will definitely stay there again in the future if the opportunity arises.

Eugene’s home is beautiful and nicer than the pictures portray. The setting is beautiful even in March. The house was spotless and very comfortable. The location was a short car ride from Yorktown and Williamsburg. Great stay would definitely recommend this home.

A Very Pleasant Place to stay. Secluded with a Nice Pond and Saltwater Pool. Very Pleasant Hosts Mike and Courtney! Nice and clean Inside. Great communications with Alice Also! We hope to visit again! Highly Recommended! Great place to stay! We came to Visit Nas Oceana for Annual Airshow! Not far away! Hope to return Next year!

What a fantastic place! LARGE and clean house, best bang for your buck, and 5 min walk to the beach. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay around the area. my wife and my dog also loved the home. 11/10, would absolutely come back for another stay.

What a beautiful and serene space for a women’s retreat! It is very obvious that the home is very well loved as well as very special. We all discussed coming back again because we enjoyed the space, the comfort and the scenery very much. We thoroughly enjoyed the great blue heron right outside the window each day as well as breathtaking sunsets. It was hard to get back to the grind after such a beautiful sanctuary weekend away.

We enjoyed our stay at The Great Escape! Most of our time was spent in the private pool and fishing from the yard into the canal. The walk to the beach was quick and easy. We loved how quiet and safe the neighborhood was. The house had all the amenities we needed- it felt like a home away from home. Kim was a great host supplying us with lots of recommendations and was quick to resolve any problems. We hope to visit again in the future!

We met Sabrina upon our arrival and she was very kind and caring and made us feel right at home. We were present with a lovely home to stay in and enjoy our family. Thank you, Sabrina.

Brandon was an awesome host. The location is amazing. Really was great to walk to any nice restaurant, but you weren't located on the main street. Better than I could have imagined.

This house was perfect for our group. We had 16 baseball players and coaches stay in the house. Everyone had a bed, plenty of room and the pool table and ping pong table were a big hit. It allowed for team bonding when not on the field. The house was clean and had all that we needed to host a team dinner for all the families down for the weekend! Highly recommend.

Our stay in E’s home was fantastic! It was very convenient to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, where we spent our spring break! We loved the privacy of having separate bedrooms for each of us and the quiet of the neighborhood to unwind in after a busy day of fun! E’s house is extremely well kept and updated, everything was very comfortable!

This was the perfect spot for a weekend trip to the beach! The amenities were fantastic and the beach access was unbeatable. John was an incredible host which made the experience even better. He was so kind, flexible for our needs, and very communicative. We would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

Great place for Groups up to 8. we had 7 on our trip and felt perfect. The back yard is way bigger than the pictures make it look. kitchen was the perfect size for us and to cook big meals. House keeping could have done a little better job at cleaning those hard to reach areas in the bathrooms. It might need a little remodel in the next 5 years and be aware the backyard runs up to the interstate, but can't beat what you get for the price. and the traffic noise was not an issue at all and I would not be worried unless you want a view

We’ve never stayed in a home with more thoughtful appointments and amenities. The space is laid out well to comfortably accommodate up to six people, although we only had three in our group. The dining table was set beautifully, and the kitchen is incredibly spacious. The beds and mattresses are high quality, and the entire space was very clean.

What a beautiful beach visit! The bedrooms have brand new wood floors, wifi router upgraded and a soft and comfortable rug in the kids room. Great wave sounds from the screened in porch. Super quiet and tons of room.

This is the second time my family has stayed at one of Bonnie’s places and it was fantastic. The house was spacious and the yard was enjoyed by all. The shared pier was a great spot for our teens to take pictures and the shared beach was perfect for the littles to swim and play in the sand. Sharmane house worked well for us! 5 adults and 5 kids was a bit of a tight fit, but with two adults taking a couch each, we made it work! The house is clean, everything works, and the price is right. Thanks Sharmane!

Exactly as described in the listing. Three families stayed here comfortably, and Xiang was an excellent host! The kids (14, 14, 11, 7, & 5) had plenty of space to play, and the grow ups had plenty of space to relax. A great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing!

We needed a house at short notice as another one fell through. Sara was great. She replied straight away and was able to accommodate us straight away. Beautiful home, very well furnished. Large comfy beds. Thanks again.

Amazing week vacation for me and my hubbys one year anniversary! Beautiful home and I mean stunning!! Kitchen was my absolute favorite, the place was so clean and so peaceful. Host was extremely helpful , never took more than 30 minutes to respond back, very sweet and very understanding. I will definitely be back , such a peaceful area, SAFE area and so beautiful! Can’t wait to come back! We also stayed with two pets and he was very understanding and helpful with that as well!

Our family loved staying at this charming cottage on the river. The views are beautiful and very peaceful. Inside the cottage is everything you need for comfortable stay, the decor is tastefully and artfully done. Outside is equally enjoyable with fun and relaxation all around! Our family enjoyed the sunsets and the hammock. You truly feel on vacation here! So peacefuI, would recommend this location above staying in Norfolk or VA Beach to get the best of all worlds. Its an easy quick drive to Downtown Portsmouth and Norfolk. Virginia Beach was only 25-35 min using Midtown tunnel! We loved walking around the neighborhood everyone was so friendly. Portsmouth City park was easy for us to walk to and only a few minute drive by car. Truly one of our best airbnb experiences in the Hampton roads. We felt like we were able to take in not only the Elizabeth River views and tranquility, but also got to experience surrounding tidewater cities. Janine's cottage just shines!
