A truly remarkable and tranquil place! This beautifully-crafted, modern hut has been the perfect retreat, nestled atop the hill with sweeping views of the native forest and pristine beach below. The attention to detail and high-quality amenities made my stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. I wish I had booked for longer, as it has been so restorative to wake up to the peaceful surroundings each morning. This has been a wonderful escape, and I'm grateful to have discovered this hidden gem. I'll be sure to return again soon! I had the pleasure of booking the Kawau's Airbnb, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment our staff arrived, they were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The space was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything they needed for a comfortable stay. Anneke was an incredibly thoughtful and attentive host, always available to answer any questions, and made sure they had everything they needed to feel at home. The location was perfect—quiet, yet close to local attractions, making it easy to explore the area. I highly recommend Anneke and Jason's Airbnb to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and enjoyable stay.

Incredible place and beautiful location. We were a family of 10, the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the games, deck and activities room, fart board etc. Our new favourite place. X

This is an older home with the quirky features of one, but most importantly it was CLEAN! The linens clean and fresh, kitchen and the rest of the home as well. Lots of room to spread out, lots of wood to keep us warm, many games, books and magazines. The puzzle coffee table was great and the evening found the family gathered around it. Location was good view o and close to the water. Highly recommend.

A real charmer of a house. Completely private and the quietest place I have been in for a long time. Leane prepares the house with a great deal of care so you can settle right in and be comfortable. So much room to spread out and an ample supply of kitchen utensils to cook meals. There's games and books and comfy beds and a lovely sunroom. Would certainly suit big groups who want to get away into farm Country with Riverton a great town 30 minutes away on the Coast recommended.

Lovely homey cottage in Waikawa. Our family of 5 enjoyed the 3 bedrooms, the living room, and nice wood stove, the peaceful surroundings. Well situated to explore the western parts of the Catlins. The house had good cooking equipment, helpful as we cooked there every night. As instructed, we came fully loaded with food for 3 days. Wonderful star gazing and total silence at night.
