Leigh has created a very beautiful thoughtful space on her Lightning Ridge property. We had a truly refreshing experience, the mattress is very comfortable, the bath is lovely and the bush outlook is relaxing. We enjoyed the extra provisions of fresh fruit and the little extras that made it the perfect getaway. Thank you!

Be prepared to be surprised! This isn’t your regular home. It’s a recycled materials house in the town opal fields complete with two shafts (covered) in the back yard! The ridge castle is also on the red door car tour of Lightning Ridge so you are staying in one of the town’s notable dwellings! You’ll need to look past the “rustic” parts of the dwelling, but staying here is an adventure! Linen was clean and new, the place felt clean despite the rustic style. Pack your insect repellant - there can be bugs depending on the time of year (mozzies, midges etc). (As there is for everywhere in the warm weather in Aus). I really enjoyed the adventurous surroundings at Ridge Castle! Rebel was a great host, I had an issue with the wifi and she was on the scene in 5 mins! She also communicated really well with us at all times!

The old school was a great find, in a lovely spot just out of town. Has everything you need and very homely. Very kid friendly. Love the history of the old school house too.

Sonja’s home was wonderful. Carefully thought out accommodation. Everything you could ever need was there. Clean as a whistle with all the comforts of home. Would highly recommend and we will definitely use this host again if we head up that way in the future It was a pleasure staying in this home. Probably not suitable if you have any mobility issues as the shower is in the bath.

If you are looking for a little bit of luxury in the outback this is the place to be! Very comfortable appartement, great shower and beds and clean. The WiFi was a big plus, since Phone service is not always available in this area. The nearby bore baths are a great place to relax and talk to the locals. We had a great stay and would def recommend 10/10!!

Really want to show my appreciation for Marina’s hospitality during my stay. The house was clean and cosy, with a well functioning fan and air conditioner to keep the temperature perfect. Marija was also very friendly and proactive in giving advice on local attractions. Would definitely stay here if I ever visit lightning ridge again.

Sandie and Chas were wonderful hosts. My Parter and I loved the accommodation. Everything in town is withing walking distance. My partner and I took the opportunity to cool off at the local pool as the day was quite warm. Sandy and Chas went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. Will return, and highly recommend this place!
