This was our second time staying at this stunning property, and somehow, it was even better than the first! We could see the thoughtful updates with new furniture, gorgeous décor, and little touches that made it feel even more special. The pool area was an absolute dream. It was warm, there is a diving board, it’s deep, there are built in lights, speakers, TV, and more made it a luxurious escape, making us forget the cold entirely. We also loved the pool table for some friendly competition and the outdoor fireplace, for the coziest s’mores night. The master bedroom was a showstopper with a sparkling chandelier and dreamy decor! It would be an amazing spot for a special occasion. The entire home is spacious yet cozy. The location is peaceful and picturesque. Big gas station/convenient store, diner, and an ice cream shop near by are convenient. Hidden gem and perfect staycation spot. Can’t wait to go back!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

BEAUTIFUL Home!! Tons of space to relax and spread out with our family! The beds were very comfortable! We really appreciated all of the bathrooms for our group! The kitchen was huge and so handy for preparing meals! I absolutely loved the style and atmosphere of this wonderful home! We also loved being able to bring our dogs!! We had a lovely time and we would most definitely come back!!! 🥰

This is a beautiful home, with everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. We stayed in mid March and even though it was the off season, there was plenty to do. Even our Boston Terrier had a great time running in the garden. The local recommendations made by Larry were excellent. If you get a chance to book this location, I highly recommend it.

Allison's place was exceptionally great! Very cozy home with a great kitchen for cooking meals. Perfectly located to be close to Portland and Freeport, but also a day trip away from Acadia. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay if u need to be away from everything

This was our first experience with an Air B&B and happy that it was with Spencer. Our main reason for the East Coast trip was to see our grandsons football games at Bowdoin College and it was a perfect location. We stayed for seven weeks and loved the experience.

A perfect Thanksgiving Getaway! My family had an unforgettable Thanksgiving at Maria’s property! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home - perfect for a holiday stay. The check in process was seamless and Maria was extremely responsive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. The space was spotless and exactly as described in the listing, and the kitchen was fully equipped making it easy to prepare our Thanksgiving meal! Being able to meet the host’s sweet dog, horses and chickens was a bonus. We’re so grateful to have spent Thanksgiving there and couldn’t have asked for a better host or a more perfect setting. We’d love to return again!

The hosts were very prompt in communicating. The thoughtfulness they have put into furnishing the property is amazing. It has a very vintage nautical feeling to it. The house is extremely well appointed. We didn’t have any problems at all. The surroundings are off the beaten path which we especially appreciated. It’s a short 10 minute drive to Damariscotta Downtown. I would highly recommend this property.

Jerry's house was a great location with terrific views. The house was tastefully decorated and immaculate. A perfect Maine getaway that we cannot wait to go back to in the future.

Loved the layout of the house. Great kitchen and master bedroom. Master bath a little cramped. Enjoyed the view and outdoor seating.

Jeremy and Ellen are fantastic hosts. Very communicative during booking and prior to arrival with suggestions of what to do (we were travelling from the UK). We stayed for 16 nights and the house felt like home - it has everything you need. Absolutely fantastic place to stay and we really recommend it.

We had a lovely stay! We were only in town for one night to attend a funeral the next day, but it was a very nice to spend our time.

We enjoyed our first day with beautiful views overlooking the Orland River. Period we spent pleasurable mornings and evenings on the deck between the river and the peak autumn foliage. The cottage has a well-stocked kitchen; the beds were comfortable and the ambiance was cozy and rustic. It is within an hour drive to Acadia, or Belfast. Lots to do, especially if you’re a nature lover. Another plus was how friendly, responsive, and proactive Matthew was. It was a pleasure having him as our host. Hope to come again.

Our family and I had a wonderful stay at Jackies, we are all originally from maine, and her home gives you everything great about maine. We really felt at home, it snowed christmas eve which made it even more beautiful ( The driveway was plowed out early as well). I brought a small christmas tree with us on our trip up, and when we walked in, the place was decorated for christmas, which was just amazing and so thoughtful. We definitly plan on staying again, the next time we are back in maine. Thank you again Jackie!

We have been going to this area of Maine for over fifty years. I found this gem several years ago and haven’t stayed anywhere since. I find it to be peaceful, walkable to the center via footbridge, it’s all that we want. Kathy is a great host, quickly responds to any questions or needs you may have. We always know we will have a great experience staying here.

Loved our stay! Ana Luisa was a great host. Loved the special touches like fresh tulips and a generous supply of firewood for the wonderful wood-burning stove! This was a great spot for a mini-writing retreat with friends!

This is an amazing property with a very cool house. Check-in was easy, Tyler is a very responsive host, and we were able to find everything we needed and wanted. We especially enjoyed the wood-fired sauna during sunrise, and the fire pit in the evenings.

Loved staying at this cabin! I was a last minute booking and the hosts were super nice and accommodating. Would recommend these hosts and this cabin to everyone!!

What an amazing time I had at this place! I got married to my best friend and we had our families joined together! Everyone cooking every night, beach walks, board games, and fires for when it got a little cold. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding week! Destioney was amazing to deal with. The house was beautiful and we felt right at home the entire stay. The welcoming basket was a favourite!!!! Highly recommend this stay!!!

We had a great stay at Mary Beth’s place in Freeport! The home is on a quiet street and just a few minutes walk to downtown Freeport - restaurants and shopping are all right there! The space was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed, I was even pleasantly surprised to find some kid’s dishes. The front porch area is fenced off which was a huge pro for our family to let our young kids run around without fear of them going in the street. Mary Beth had some awesome recommendations, be sure to check out the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden if you can fit it in your trip!
