The A frame was great. We loved the ambience while staying and the breakfast was amazing. The location is very difficult to locate if arriving after dark. I would highly recommend using “Garden View Restaurant” as your Google maps location. This will put you right across the train tracks from the restaurant. You then head down the train tracks and the A Frame is on the right. The just offered a Tuktuk ride for a fair price down and back to town. After getting dropped off the hosts Tuktuk had a malfunction and we had to try to pick me back to the location. We waited 30 minutes trying to do that with no luck. We negotiated with several drivers and non agreed to go down the road at all. One would go but for 10X the price of the pick me. Best to drive down yourself and park near the train station.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this villa! The view was absolutely breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The staff were amazing—always attentive, friendly, and responsive to all our requests, including accommodating the needs of our toddler, which we greatly appreciated. A standout feature of our stay was the amazing cocktails! They were expertly crafted and added a special touch to our evenings as we enjoyed the stunning scenery. Additionally, the staff guided us to a beautiful local waterfall, where we had a fantastic time exploring and enjoying nature. It was a memorable highlight of our trip. The only area for improvement is the food. While it was decent, we’d love to see more fresh vegetables included in the menu to enhance the dining experience. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we’d definitely recommend this villa for anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic retreat with top-notch hospitality, and opportunities to explore local beauty

“It’s the people who matter. Caretaker Mark and his family made us feel home from the instant we reached this place. These were some of the most humble people I’ve ever met. I was traveling with a 2yr old who wasn’t feeling well, Mark got medicines for us even late in the night. One of the highlight was the bonfire and dinner setup around it which made the stay extra special for us. The homecooked food was so amazing that we ended up eating at home on all days! Staywise- The villa is not luxurious but is functional. Location is at the centre with most attractions nearby.

Just incredible! We kept extending our stay! This is an absolute hidden gem of a place with views to die for. The cabin is so beautiful with huge windows and lovely character. The bed is so comfortable too. We had three very friendly dogs keep us company and the neighbours cat! Watching the storms from the upstairs window was incredible and seeing fireflies in the trees was so magical! Sidhu kindly ordered us local breakfast from town each morning and had it delivered to us. He is the most helpful host and always responds quickly. He really goes out of his way to help you and messages to check you’re ok and if you need anything each day. The cabin is truly a place to relax, unwind and you can spend so much time just staring at the view and watching the wildlife (birds, monkeys, frogs!) I would love to return someday. Lasithas brother Damit and the rest of the crew were the most kind and helpful people! We found Ella town too busy and noisy for our taste but thanks to the incredible staff we got a memorable experience anyway!

Every other five star I've given pales in comparison to this place! Highlight of our whole Sri Lankan trip. Breakfast and dinner were incredible, probably the best food we have eaten in Sri Lanka. The whole family was so friendly and helpful and Romeni and Grace even gave us a cooking demonstration. The hike through the cloud forest with Lal is also fantastic. The accommodation is very peaceful, we were sad to leave! Thankyou again.

Diese Unterkunft ist perfekt für Wanderer, inmitten der Teeberge. Die Aussicht war atemberaubend. Ragu war sehr zuvorkommend und brachte uns sogar das Essen zu der Hütte. Wir mussten eine Nacht früher abreisen und die Kosten wurden uns erstattet.

The Villa was absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway — Mohamed and Tuan were the perfect hosts: super responsive and polite, always helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The space is spotless, the rooms were large and kept perfectly, and the view was unmatched. As long as you have transport to get you into Kandy, it’s also located conveniently so you can reach the city easily but still get the peace and quiet of the hills. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay with more attentive hosts!

Home away from home ! A family home built to showcase Sri Lankan ancient architecture provided with all the luxury you are looking for a very comfortable stay ! All the rooms and other areas are very spacious. Cleanliness is maintained to the highest standards. Communication with the host is very easy. Delicious food prepared by the caretakekers (two lovely mothers) was so nice. Our group will remember the motherly care offered by the caretakers with all the fond memories of Badulla. We will recommend this place for groups looking for peaceful, comfortable, safe and lovely accommodation in Badulla. Marina Primali
