I have so many great things to say, so to keep it short I'll bullet point. - Great location/community - Private - Friendly and responsive hosts - Clear instructions and tour - Clean and comfortable - Felt very welcomed - Also a bonus of a cat that sounds like a sheep :) Planning to go again, later this year. Would highly recommend

Absolutely incredible place. Very peaceful and scenic and provided with everything we could have needed. Wonderful hosts, would love to stay again.

This is a unique place.. you have to like wild and back to basics.. I stayed in the circus trailer. I wasn’t sure what to expect and was worried at first at the slightly tired appearance. But once the fire was lit, the fairy lights were on it was perfect. The most comfortable bed with the greatest view from it. Tea making facility and somewhere to charge my phone. Toilet and shower block were spotless, the shared kitchen and use of fridge and cookers was great. Fire pit and wood supplied and it was the most amazing dark space. The view of the stars, ISS and starlink were the best I’ve ever seen. I stayed here so I could walk the SWCP and it’s a 15-20 min walk to Polperro from the site so it was perfect. I would stay here again. This is definitely a wild, back to basics place to stay but I loved it. Matt was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions.

Last minute Valentine get away with our two dogs. Despite pretty grim weather, you couldn't have wished to be anywhere cosier. Surprisingly spacious and everything you could think of, provided for a weekend away. Basic breakfast foods provided and of course Juliet's famous delicious short bread and doggie welcome treats.Private garden space adjoining a wood and secure field. Dogs roamed and played freely and safety. Bring lots of dog towels if you expect rain. Lovely shower in the cabin. Very well designed compost in a separate cabin. We kept close for dog exercise but there seems plenty of options for walking.. especially to pub...It's between 40 to 50 minute walk away. So many birds. Beautiful place to stay! Hut was very clean and warm! Hot tub was lovely however took about 5 bags to heat per night so recommend heating up with at least 4 hours! Duloe local town was lovely with a little community shop!

We had such a lovely stay in the Shepherd's hut! so peaceful! The outside bath was a real treat as well as the yummy fruitcake waiting for us when we arrived. Bed was super comfy. We were sad to leave. Thank you Be and Richard.

Lovely weekend away. Beautiful Shepard’s hut. Very peaceful and quiet, out of the way for privacy. Beautiful views. The Alpacca’s were an added bonus to our view and stay. They loved being fed apple by us and one of them liked me so much it kept sneezing all over me 😁 Would definitely return 😁

We had a great stay, was relaxing and a great location for walks, sightseeing etc. Mandy and Andy both very friendly and helpful. Would recommend booking ahead for any local pubs/restaurants as they are few and far between within a 10-20 min drive and busy at weekends/peak times, also bring a 12v charger for charging within the hut otherwise there are 3 point plugs 100m across the yard which can be used.

Perfect location for exploring tintagel and North Cornwall. Lovely accommodation with great hosts and I would highly recommend :)

A great place to stay and explore Dartmoor. The views from the hut are amazing and the hut itself is a fun experience. Simon is a delightful host and always quick to help out - Thanks for a fantastic stay!

We stayed at Elmhut for the weekend and had a really lovely time. The hut itself was private, spotless, nicely decorated and in beautiful gardens and surrounding areas. The hut and hot tub were very private and very peaceful for a relaxing weekend. Jessica was a great host, very responsive to any messages and provided lots of information on surrounding areas, places to visit and eat etc. The instructions and welcome book left by Jessica was very helpful too! We would definitely visit again!

We had such a lovely stay at the hut. The place was clean and tidy. It’s such a great location and so quiet. We would definitely stay again next time we’re in the area. Georgina was such a lovely host, always very responsive to questions we had. Would definitely recommend staying.

We’ve now stayed at both of Jan’s shepherds huts and they are both fantastic! It’s the perfect Devon getaway base and is well equipped for having cosy nights cooking in and bbq’ing around the fire pit. Comfy beds and always immaculately cleaned, would highly recommend staying here! The location is great for exploring surrounding beaches and Dartmoor, plus picturesque villages with lovely pubs. Nothing however beats spending nights at the shepherds hut with a bbq, fire pit and taking in the beautiful views!

I had a wonderful stay in the shepherd’s hut. The setting was absolutely beautiful—peaceful and surrounded by nature. The hut itself was cozy and well-equipped with everything I needed. Waking up to the sounds of birdsong and animals in the fields was such a treat, and there were plenty of lovely walking trails nearby to explore. Even if the weather isn’t great, the hut is perfect to get cozy and enjoy a book by the fire. Amelia was a brilliant host, she was on hand if I needed anything and made me feel really welcome. A perfect countryside getaway—I can’t wait to return!

We spent a fabulous two nights at "Lucy ". The hot tub was great, we were lucky to have one clear night to star gaze. The area is fantastic with the York Inn a short walk away with lovely food. the hut had everything we needed, super cosy . We nearly finished the jigsaw!

Lovely little shepherds hut in a great part of the south west. Short drive or cycle to the beach. The hut was very clean, comfortable and well built, and they even left us some biscuits and milk. Great stay, thanks very much Matthew.

Lovely peaceful setting. Great view. Walks straight from the hut. Hot tub was great after a long walk. Loved meeting the goats. Clive was a great host. The app had all the info you would need and was especially helpful when arriving as it contained photos of exactly where you were going which was very helpful as the hut is tucked away down a lovely track access that you would be nervous was the correct one if you didn’t have the directions. Great stay would love to return.

Such a lovely hut for our anniversary. The place itself was so lovely & the owners were incredibly helpful. Such a clean and lovely stay. Would love to have stayed longer and will definitely recommend to a friend!

Had a wonderful weekend away in the hut. It was immaculately presented in the most peaceful and secluded setting. Perfect for relaxing and escaping the daily stresses. Kate was superb! I had such a lovely stay at Andrew’s place! The setting is peaceful and secluded, offering total privacy while still feeling completely safe—I’d have no hesitation staying here alone as a woman. The free-roaming chickens were such a charming touch, and the views of the countryside were even more stunning than the photos suggest. Inside, the space had everything I needed, including thoughtful extras like board games that made the evening feel extra cozy. Andrew also provided extensive instructions that made check-in and getting settled a breeze, and he was incredibly quick to respond to any questions. I only stayed for one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer! One small note (not a complaint!) is that there weren’t any outlets, so I couldn’t dry my hair, but Andrew provides a portable charger, which was really helpful. Overall, an amazing stay, and I’d absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

Amazing few days away and a perfect little hut to call home, clean, tidy and an amazing location with lots to do near by. Walking distance to a few pubs and an amazing fish n chip shop. Would 100% recommend and we will definitely be back.

Clare and Luca have created a unique space to unwind in nature. It’s private with plenty of space to enjoy inside and out. It was a special treat having a wood-fired hot tub and pizza oven and all the little details made everything extra enjoyable.

Thank you for a great stay! it is definitely the best stay we have had. It is the perfect set for a gateway to enjoy the birds signing, walks, wood burner with board games & bbq etc. everything you need is provided and it is the most relaxing place, out the way, super private. its exactly like having your own forest. can't wait to go again.

Gorgeous stay at the Shepards Hut, the hut is beautifully decorated and has everything you need for the space! We loved the hot tub and were provided with enough wood to keep it warm all evening. Absolutely gorgeous location, super peaceful, the perfect getaway for our anniversary!
